De Dolle, doesn't do it for me. Don't think it would get in my Belgian top 50. I've drank at the source too.. give me Alvinne wild west Blackthorn everyday, probably the most underrated sour put there. Too many of the beers featured in your list are distinctly average. I don't get the love for 5 points either.. very average for me. Docks best bitter is in a different league in my opinion. Focal banger was one of my biggest disappointments ever, sadly have never had heady. Best uk brewery for me making a modern 5 to 6% on keg is from Nothing bound. Two by Two cask is pretty special also.

I’m from Brazil and my wife gifted me, for my 40th birthday, a 15 day trip to Belgium to visit the breweries/monasteries around the country plus Toer de Geuze. I’ve visited 28 breweries in total (104 beers consumed) and my favorite beer was Arabier on tap from De Dolle. It was unbelievable. Also, I’ve spend more than 1 hour talking to the master brewer Kris Herteleer and his wife Else. Must go place for belgian beer lovers. Congrats to you two on the channel.

    My top 10 would be:
    10. Any Track Gold Top DIPA. Creamy hoppy goodness!
    9. Duchesse Du Gurgone (better when it’s aged for a few months).
    8. Fuller’s Vintage Ale. The older the better.
    7. Augustiner Helles Or Weisse Bier. Both are excellent Bavarian beers in their own right.
    6. Treehouse King Julius. Absolute juice bomb, clean and the one of the smoothest NEIPAs ever.
    5. Burley Oak JREAM sour beers. There are 100s, but if you ever see one out in the wild, grab it! They’re incredible!
    4. Any Cantillon. The hype is real with those beers, fantastic beers made with the most absolute care.
    3. Marlobobo meads. I had the pleasure of trying one last year and oh my goodness! Mead is already good but these guys do it so right. Expensive, but worth every single penny!
    2. Schlenkerla. One of my favourite beers ever. If you like weird and wonderful beers, it’s one for you to try!
    1. Omnipollo Yellow Belly. The OG or the C&D versions, tried this beer in 2018 for the first time, and nothing has come close for me ever since in terms of Imperial Stouts.

    • @danielprieto8315
      @danielprieto8315 Рік тому +1

Which Schlenckerla? As this is just the brewery! I suppose you talk about the Märzen, which is the most popular, but they do a crazy Doppelbock and now they have an Adler barrel one which is beautiful. Funnily I live very close to Bamberg, and it's not my favourite rauchen. I prefer my smoky beer not to be as smoky as Schlenckerla, and for that Weiterer does this beautifully.

Great list. Especially the “straight from the bottle” magic of Augustiner. That stuff is incredible. Yes, it’s sulfury, and it’s different from nearly every other German lager. But it’s simply addictive and I would recognize it blindfolded.
(All the others on this list are also superb…though I haven’t tried the pastry stouts).

One of my fav beers was going to the Cloudwater and Track taproom up in Manchester and trying the Double Choco & Vanilla Chocolate raspberry cake imperial stour and the S'mores imperial stout by both breweries respectively. It was my 3rd week in the UK, and I had arranged to meet with a good friend in Manchester and brought along my partner. I remember entering the taproom on a Friday night and firstly being in awe with the vibe and beauty of these two places. The beers tasted as the names suggested and it just instantly took me back to childhood memories. I remember looking at everyone and saying we have to remember moments like these ( I clearly had a few drinks down by then ). It's still a memory that makes all of us smile till today!

Discovered 'Faith' by Northern Monk last year, I'd been worried about my mum going to hospital and at the same time had a leak appear in my hallway. I was so full of anxiety and couldn't sit at home with my thoughts so went out. Everywhere nearby was closed, but I found a place open that happened to be serving this on tap. Thankfully my mum was alright and the leak was fixed. I've since tried other beers by Northern Monk, but Faith remains my favourite of theirs.

A couple of my faves are brewed here in Canada by Unibroue, Blanche de Chambly and La Fin Du Monde. The first is a Belgian-style wheat ale and the latter is a 9% triple, both are fantastic. Besides that some of the Trappists are excellent, Rochefort 8 and the red Chimay especially.

Love from Massachusetts! Treehouse opened up a smaller location in Cape Cod which is thankfully closer to where I lived. Moved to North Carolina last year and every trip back up necessitates restocking. They don't have a bad beer on their roster. Best beer I ever had was Autumn Blaze by Saint Lawrence in New York. Had in a flight while out for my birthday one year and fell in love. Not the best reviewed but I think it is the BEST seasonal beer.

I don't dare to do a top 10 but my absolute favourite beer is Rodenbach Grand Cru.
What a beer! It's almost cider-y like a Gose. The mix of the old and young beer is magical, and then you have all these undertones going on. I love it.
In the last year I've also tried a couple of incredible blanche. One from an amateur brewer in Hamburg with no name in it during a beer festival and another called Fear of the blanche from Birrificio Calibro 22 in Italy, two blanches actually quite similar; very spicy with clove, ginger, cinammon and cardamom going on in them. Absolutely delicious.
According to my Untappd notes I also love Black Forest Cake by Black Forest Brewing in Germany; Moka Warriors and Perseverance from Cierzo in Spain; Weiherer Weizenbock as my fave Weizen, as for helles / lager and other close styles, I'd say Rosita in Spain and Chimay Dorée are profiles that I like very much.

First time trying grape lambic in Brussels, having gone there on ascension weekend when all the "cool" places like Cantillon were closed, and we somehow found our way to a hole in the wall called "Family Brews" and got our hands on the first ever S:t Lamvinus we'd ever had. Having heard how great this grape lambic was we were just in absolute awe of being able to find it.
Safe to say that it lived up to expectations, and my own, and my friends love for lambics have never faded since that day. Still brings a smile to my face, despite it never being as good as that first time whenever I try it.

When you're exposing your frank so close to your beans, and when you know that fabric hugs tighter than Chewbacca rolling on a huge chow of MDMA, and it holds you closer than a primate in Neverland Ranch. wow..... complete respect....

My favorite beer memory is actually of Blanc.
I used to live in a rural area of Finland a few years ago and one late night me and my friends decided to head to town and hit its most popular bar. When we got there, however, it was overflowing with people. We headed to another bar by the town square maybe 100 meters away and it was almost completely empty. We sat down on the terrace and one of my friends ordered a personal Blanc beer tap. So there we were sitting on the terrace of this empty bar in the corner of the desolate town square under a starry sky as my friend poured pints of cold Blanc for all of us. Beer has never hit the spot as much as it did then.
Every time I pour myself a Blanc nowadays I'm chasing that feeling and taste of that particular night.

Old Peculiar "from the wood" in Craven Arms, Appletreewick. 16th Century thatched roof pub and barn, serving incredible Yorkshire food and barrel aged Old Peculiar from cask in perfect condition. The wood smooths out any rough edges from the sugar and makes it so fucking moreish. My father in law went and drank about five pints just before he died and proclaimed that he wanted to move into the village. We try and go back as often as possible in his honour.

Mena Dhu Stout from St Austell. With a fairly low ABV for a stout it is exceptionally sessionable. Smooth but bold and it just becomes more fun with every sip. I discovered it at Samuel Jones in Exeter after spending the morning taking a walking tour of the city. I was knackered, thirsty, hungry and refused to go any further until I had a pint. Mena Dhu caught my eye and from the first sip it was just a little bit of heaven. Come to think of it I never did order anything to eat at that stop, just filled up on that glorious liquid black.

I've had five of your picks. Don't disagree with any of your choices, but I actually like Russian River's Blind Pig a tad better than Pliny. Some of my other fav beers....Morticia by Barrier Brewing. It's probably my favorite stout. Thick, viscous, slightly chocolatey and the oak aging just elevates it. Penultimate Push from Cigar City is another excellent stout in my opinion. Gillian by Goose Island...the one that got me into Saisons.

My favorite beer moment was in Decorah, Iowa in the US when I had the best beer I've ever tasted at Toppling Goliath Brewing Co; Mornin Delight. I had never experienced a stout of such quality that is so smooth and tasty. The flavors of coffee, maple syrup and vanilla blended so well in a stout. It was the most delicious beer I have ever tasted. Even my girlfriend at the time (now fiance) who does not like beer took a drink of the 12% abv stout and loved it. I have had some stouts that come close, but no experience quite like that. Not an everyday drinking beer by any means, but definitely the best beer I have had to date. Hill Farmstead is closed while we are there sadly, so will head down to Deerfield where Tree House has a location to fill up on the other 24.
All the while staying in Littleton, NH, just a stone's throw from Schilling Beer Co., which makes some very great European style beer, from Czech Pils to German and Belgian Hefe, and all points in between.

Guinness is my favourite, it’s where my love of beer began and it’s my choice of drink in almost every pub with the skill to pour a good pint, Tennent’s is the beer of the Scottish people and as such will always have a place in my heart, here in Scotland if you walk into most pubs and demand simply “a lager” the bartender will almost always give you a pint of Tennent’s Lager, it’s as quintessentially Scottish as Guinness is Irish.
