I think seeing Riverdance from the second row is the most incredible live performance of anything I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot of great stuff. It was simply astounding.
Pure dance, pure energy. So stoked that the Chinese audience really got into it, but they've always appreciated Irish culture and achievement. One of the first countries to translate Joyce's work.
What Michael flatley created brings the world together. You let loose when you hear it, you let loose when you see it. just remember it has life, so live it.
Michael didn't actually "create " anything. 3 people created the show we know and love today. They approached Michael and Jean, along with other big names in the business to choreograph numbers for the show.

Got the vid 'Live from Beijing' same troupe. The entrance at the beginning of this dance was the best.( missed here) My science and sports teacher at Hardinge St. Belfast made it all possible. Thank you ,The Rock , Mr Aiken. RIP. Won him a bronze at the school sports day 4 * 100. Brought out the biggest smile on his massive frame. Had to hold off a guy on final leg, 6' tall and snapping at my feet.
This is the first ensemble I've watched where the entire crew was beaming with smiles. Also, the interaction between the leads and the crew was far more involved with the leads checking every so often on the ensemble to ensure their positioning and rhythm.

When I saw this show in Hammersmith London I did what I normally do during the interval. I took a trip to the stage door and was amazed to see one of the dancers sat on the cold floor in costume and full make up enjoying a ciggie.
20 years later and I still get electric tingles down my spine when I hear this.
