you might be surprised how many dances you have in common - because we all have shared dancing with our cultures for centuries. I dont think people realize how many movements in their "traditional" dances actually come from the sharing that happens over time. It's not bad - i Just think if you look closely at the dances where you are from - you might find something similar. I just watched a very interesting documentary about Irish Dancing. If you're fascinated - you should, too! 😃

Tatazuki it takes a looong time, I’ve been doing this for 9 years, and obviously it’s hard when you first start, but now, its still kinda hard but I learned the basic stuff already
It only just hit me why I find Riverdancing so cool, besides the obvious. The sound that they build up takes precision and skill but when you have a dozen or more people replicating the steps it comes to sound like a train barreling down the tracks. It becomes its own force of nature and it is only with the same skill to make the sound that the dancers manage to rein it in and direct the potential chaotic energies into something controlled. It is very much like trying to navigate down a wild river in a canoe or on a raft. The accompaniment from the drums and fiddles provides a sense of adventure and danger, and the punctuated steps are like man’s sparks of clarity in the midst of chaos. He learns to work with the energy in order to come out safely at the end.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! God bless Ireland. Their culture is amazing. P.S. Without this video, I wouldn't know that human is able to move their legs like this!
It's like they can unhinge their ankles & whip their feet about in ways that bones, tendons & ligaments shouldn't be able to do & do it so rhythmically! Very fascinating & fun to watch!

You never know, you may well carry some Irish DNA. Just go buy yourself a top brand DNA kit, then await your results. Fingers crossed! :-) BUT, even if you find out, that you carry no Irish DNA, you can have your other family members tested, as each family member, will have a different DNA outcome. Finally, if you don't carry Irish DNA, no problem @ all. Just be very proud of who you are, as each of us is special & unique, no matter where we hail from. Peace

Wouldn't want it drowning out the sound of the shoes
3:29 When the dance was so good the camera couldn’t take it
Молодцы!
Великолепное исполнение! )))
To je prostě nádhera!!! Děkuji za krásnou podívanou! Miluji to! ❤
ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING MUSIC AND DANCE. WE IN GREECE HAVE A LOT OF RESPECT FOR YOUR CULTURE, HISTORY AND TRADITION. GREETINGS FROM THE CITY OF ATHENS.
I spend countless hours watching river dancing. My family swears I’m not normal but how can you not like this
WATCHING THIS ON UA-cam OR ON TV IS MARVELOUS.. BUT YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE IN A THEATER TO SEE THIS LIVE AND NOT ONLY SEE AND HEAR THIS, BUT ACTUALLY FEEL THEIR POWER AND RYTHMS, AND EXPERIENCE THE EMOTIONS. AFTER THE SHOW I WAS STUNNED SPEECHLESS.
I did Irish dance when I was younger, and would like to start again, I miss it.
This is what I felt like doing after turning in my last English paper.
What start dancing like a spaz
Rampage bros No, dancing like someone who turned in a paper that got an A.

My grandfather was from Ireland, I was raised a good Irish Catholic and remember this kind of music growing up, still remember some of the songs and sing them to my kids and grandkids to keep our heritage alive.
It's more than beautiful. I can't stop watching it!!!
I'm not Irish but wish I was part irish
You never know, you may well carry some Irish DNA. Just go buy yourself a top brand DNA kit, then await your results. Fingers crossed! :-) BUT, even if you find out, that you carry no Irish DNA, you can have your other family members tested, as each family member, will have a different DNA outcome. Finally, if you don't carry Irish DNA, no problem @ all. Just be very proud of who you are, as each of us is special & unique, no matter where we hail from. Peace
You don’t have to be Irish to be Irish.
@@oldtimeycabins Yes you do
“We are all Irish”. (John Lennon).
Sameeee
3:51 what the Irish military sounds like when they march into battle
Except Ireland is a neutral country 😂
Yeah... One problem, we don't have a military. Do your research.
@@archivedchannel8381 Why don't you guys have a military?
@@AVGyerra22 we have a defense force, of about 12,000 (army, navy, air force) that can deal with any paramilitary or stop any drugs operations, but their main job is with the UN. Irish soldiers make up most of the forces in Cyprus and Lebanon. We are a neutral country however, so we are not in any military alliance such as NATO. Under our constitution, we don't declare war, or join in any war unless we are attacked.
Ireland is not neutral . It is non-aligned.

Captain Picard pulling down his top before emphatically and heroically stating "engage".
Pure magic. Womderful detail.
Such an assertive dance... This is something that just feels liberating.
my headcanon is that the riverdance was started so that irish people could show what they could do while drunk
Probably
It was a filler for the Eurovision Song Contest
Amazing. I have so much Irish pride even though I don't even have Irish blood in me. I hope to travel to Ireland someday. Greetings from the USA! ❤🇮🇪🇺🇸

Well, about a month ago, I asked my mom about my red hair. (Someone at my job asked me about it.) my mom told me that I was ~30% Irish. This looks so cool to me. I’ve been obsessed with anything Irish ever since.
@@basquehound1999 that’s pretty cool, it’s always important to cherish and be proud of your heritage no matter how small or big the amount is.
