Hi Lorena, great news - glad to be of help! Now, I'm not sure what you mean by doing back stitch when it is not indicated on the pattern. It would be stitched the same way whether on the pattern or not. Back stitch is usually used for adding accents or outlines. Let me know if that answers your question. I also wrote a tutorial on back stitch here: notoriousneedle.com/back-stitch-long-stitch
Notorious Needle hello! Thank you. It does answer my question. But I sometimes download patterns and they have no indications at all. If you would like to see what I’ve done, I have a Instagram lore1arias I’d love to have your opinion. The one I’m mentioning is Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland.
Got a question, on the pattern I got they ask me to do 1/2 and 1/4 stich but it is not on the pattern border it is inside to kind of form an inner color form In middle of another one, how do you do in this case, because when I try it look messy. Thank you in advance to shine mi light bulb 😅
If I understand you correctly (and it’s hard without looking at the pattern), you’ve got 2 1/4 stitches next to each other, inside the same fabric square, correct? So in the pattern, it might look like two triangles together forming a square. You would do 1/4 stitch of one color in the corner (let’s say the top-right corner), then 1/4 stitch of the other color in the opposite corner (the bottom-left corner). Finish it with a half-stitch (from the top-left to the bottom-right) that makes it look like a complete cross stitch in the color that makes sense for the pattern. It’s hard to describe with words. And it’s hard to know for sure without looking at the pattern. Hope that helps!!
Great question! It can, it just depends on the fabric and the look you want. When I stitch, I prefer a blunt needle so I can get it in between the fibers without splitting the individual fibers. But if you like the look of the split fibers, you can absolutely use a sharp needle and it would make for faster stitching.
I understand! It can be difficult to spot the smaller details on the pre-printed patterns. The easiest thing I've found to do is to wing it! Go by what is pleasing to YOUR eye or how YOU want to stitch. Try a couple of fractional stitches where you think they might look like. If you don't like it, you can always pull it out and re-stitch it.
Ok seriously, who doesn't love a silly poop emoji pattern lol
Excellent technique to encourage even stitches. Thank you x

Hi Lorena, I'd be happy to take a look. IG follow requested :)
Hi how many floss/thread on making quarter stitch? Thanks
The same as you would use for cross stitch, unless the pattern indicates something different.
Ok thank you so much

@@NotoriousNeedle it does thank you very much
Would using a sharper needle work better? I mean make it easier to split the fibers

im using a pre printed fabric cross stitch but im soo confused theres no way to determine a 3/4 stitch and chart also no indication of it.
