    Thanks for your video, it's the clearest, easiest to understand and follow tutorial I've seen and it's not too long. I've just learnt that after all these years I've been reading my fractional stitches wrong e.g. doing ¾ stitch instead of a ¼ stitch so showing the chart really helped. If anyone wants to learn fractional stitches I'll show them you're video 😊 👍🪡🧵

    Thank you so much for the tutorial on 1/4 stitches - I have been doing 3/4 stitches for 1/4 stitches!!! I have numerous 1/4 stitches on the pattern I am doing and from your tutorial they are now a breeze - I like the fact that your tutorial was so up close and personal that I could actually see clearly the difference in 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4. Thanks again so much - you have made my cross stitching so much better 😍

    This was not only helpful for aida, it showed us the logistics of combining quarter- and half-stitches regardless of the fabric being used, and demonstrated how symbols indicating those stitches may appear on a chart! I think it may give me what I need to get back to a UFO I've started several times in both needlepoint and cross stitch, only to abandon each one because of inexperience, blended threads, and fractional stitches. Pinning this one in my Cross Stitch folder for sure! Thank you!
    Edited to add: and piercing with a separate sharp point is genius!

    Thanks heaps for this. I know you posted it years ago but I just (re)started and I legit thought the quarter stitch meant that I had to put the entire × in that particular part of the square and I was trying to work out the logistics. And how to not mess it up. Your video made it all make sense 😂

    I almost always do my quarter stitches as 3/4 stitches. Especially as that's usually where the backstitch goes, and I feel it gives better definition or shape. I know it's technically "wrong" but just my preference! and the pin is a great idea!

    Oh, hey. I already knew/know how to do fractionals - but using a pin to make that hole in the centre is a GREAT idea. I've always just done it with my tapestry needle and. ..while it works. . .I find it often POPS through - catching your finger underneath. -.- It can be a bit painful. lol The pin is an excellent idea! Thank you for sharing that. I mostly stitch on evenweave now - but hey, you never know when you'll go back to aida. (Actually, do have 1 project on aida, as it needed black fabric and thats what there was. So, yeah. :D)

  • @sukikapresekang1377
    @sukikapresekang1377 Рік тому

    On the 3/4 stitch when your showing it on the pattern. How would you do the stitch right next to it in another color? I pretty sure the symbol for that color was a 3. It looks like there are two 3/4 stitches in the same box

    • @Stitcherista
      @Stitcherista  Рік тому +1

      If there are two 3/4 stitches in the same box you would choose one of them to be the dominant stitch, which ever color you want to see the most because you would do two quarter stitches one in each color but then the half stitch that makes it a 3/4 stitch is only done in one color so you need to pick which of the two colors you want to use.

    • @Stitcherista

      SusiesFancies 1 over 1 is much easier on linen or evenweave than aida. A few fractional stitches on aida are not too troublesome but a section of 1 over 1, I would decide personally to stitch that chart on evenweave or linen.

    i think you done a great job showing the stitches. however, i am new to cross stitching and i would like for you to contact me if you can use the pattern again where is transitions from one kind of stitch to another. use that same area but hook the different stitches together like you are actually making the hat. your video has been very helpful. i am still kind of confused and 2 half stitches going one after the other. thanks johna
