I have to just say, I've only been watching your channel for about 6-8 months. You're the only one who stops and explains out of all the mowing channels. So mad respect to you both.
I agree, y'all have that special something, there "it" factor so to speak, that sets you apart from all others. I'm not in the industry, but I greatly enjoy watching your journey and many of your tips really carry over to other businesses as well. Also, I'm in awe of the great parents you both are and that you've stayed very grounded despite your success; too many have not. You're both genuine and genuinely deserve all the success that you have worked hard to achieve 😃
These tips are almost 100% spot on. If youre a commercial business you should have 1/2 million in coverage. The indurance guy knows what that means. Have copies of workers comp certificates available and be ready to add additional insureds. One of the biggest things, have a proper business card with an OFFICE ADRESS AND PHONE NUMBER AND PROPER EMAIL. I dont want to see a business location missing. Thats an immediate red flag.
Some absolutely wonderful tips Shawn. You never know when something is going to change and that one call or visit can turn into great success. Professionalism and persistence pays off as well as references and going the extra distance to do what is right. Y’all keep up the great work!!!
Hey Shawen Thank you for the tips I have learned in my life some people can be shy talking about certain subjects You know being professional you do have to go out of your comfort zone. Congratulations to Shawn boy Glad to see TQ in the video.
Im taking notes! And your right about subway it was my first Job 1995 and when people asked to fill out an application and asked for a pen they were shredded!
Beautiful job at your commercial property. The tips you gave today will assist many. You spoke very sincerely, with knowledge,& experience. I’m sure those just starting out will think hard, be confident,& not take the attempt so personally. Onward,& upward! I hope Shawn B gets the win 🏆 tonight.🤞🏾💜✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
Bigger accounts require at least 5 million insurance. Help bigger landscaping on small jobs. He said too put shovel in ground. Small steps too bigger jobs.
i'm 14, starting out. got 2 costumers. two of my dad's friends has a rental company where they rent out jump castles, softice machines, popcorn machines and more. and i clean some of them sometimes and earn some money. and they tell me that i should always do extra for my costumers, is that true? like trim for free for the first time doing a service or something? also i got a stihl km 131, trimmer, edger, blower, brush. soon getting cultivator. also got a lawn tractor. old china model my dad bought 9 years ago, sold it to our neighbor 5 years ago. this spring i got it for free. changed battery, oil, spark plug, air filter. and getting more soon. like a front bumper, i already got a voltmeter(on the lawn tractor, just not connected rn)led light, horn, blitz light. soon getting 4 buttons and more. Can anybody give me some tips or advice on future plans or something else? a good but not expensive lawn tractor or zero turn, zero turn preferred. from new? i've looked at hustler, ferris(better but expensive) cub cadet and more. Thanks
Weeds always kill contracts over anything else. Period. As a former lawncare landscape supervisor i used to STRESS pulling weeds. Guys didnt do it to the customers specs. We lost contracts. I no longer work in the field thankfully. I was a professional. Not a grass cutter! You can do an immaculate lawn care job. If the customer walks out the door and sees a weed. That's what they remember.
Shawn, I see some of the properties you service sometimes need additional grooming of bushes Overgrowth etc. Do you offer additional services then to the customer or? Thanks, Enjoy your channel
Enjoy your videos and your knowledge.. Your time and your patience to give us the right route to go.. I have a question.. When you're making a bid on a commercial.. How do you know what to charge them.. Compared to the other company that they have.. Example ,,,😮 Company a gave them a bit of two hundred.. And company b look at the property and give them four hundred.. Or how to charge??.. Some places in maryland those Hispanics are underbidding is the real price.. I hate to say that.. But It's hard..
just have to keep enduring and staying in the field, don't get discourage. People who low ball go out of business soon. They don't have enoug to pay to get help, buy spare parts you name it. Im in the same rodeo, when get asked why so much I tell that is so when have equipment breakdown I can keep taking care of you. We are in business to make money not just to pay ourselves. This are two complelty different things.
The other tip i have is maybe dont walk into the business if the current company is there.... had that happen to me a few times lol, thankfully the people at the business know us very well.
How'd Shawn boy do?!? Great tips. I always kept cards one, no matter what. We used to play the marble game in outside sales. Ten marbles, you'd get one yes. It might be yes for an estimate or yes for the job, but it was always a numbers game.
I agree with what you're saying. Always leave a no with a smile and a positive response such as, "Thank you for your time," or, "I appreciate giving me your time". Then add, " if your situation changes I'd appreciate you keeping us in mind". I will add use the word "us" not me. It makes you appear more professional and not like you're looking for a side hustle.
Hey Spencer’s, hope your 2023 season is still going well. Will you be launching. Nay fireworks this year or will you be going to one thats been planned by your township or some Ofer municipality
Sir spencer and mom tq i was just thinking that maybe one day you want to challenge yourself doing a super grown lawn where you have to do edging and stuff and at the same time challenge the machines you guys have and see how good they are

We are glad you like it. Thanks for watching
What is the name of the handle you use for the stihl trimmers and where can I find it thanks
Great video👍
Thank you
We watch you all the time. Do you recommend BNI for commercial contracts?
Offering a "free" estimate sounds like a come-on pressure approach. I never used the term. It will never cost them to receive it.
Thank you for the tips.
We hope it helps
Thank you for sharing some very good information 👍
Tell them to move equipment 4’ from building, the power company does. Need space to have room to watch for snakes and wasps.

Awesome job Shawn n TQ as always keep up the great work

what would you recommend for a 16 year old who has been in business for 3 years going about getting commercial jobs
Everything is the same. You may have trouble getting the insurance coverage that they require. But you won't know unless you try.
