This is ME. Ive read this one book (through the mirror door by sarah baker) like 4 times while sitting next to my shelf of unread and highly recommended books haha.
When the characters get into dangerous situations and are about to die, my adrenaline starts pumping and for some reason, I can’t stop smiling so everyone around me thinks that something great is happening but really everyone’s dying.
Whenever the book gets to a reAlly *sPicEy* bit, where there’s a lot of *teNsion*, I have to mentally prepare myself, and so I need to put the book down and have an intermission..
Me toooooo I'm even this way with movies and if something embarrassing happens it's takes me a while to pick up the book again, because the second hand embarrassment is too much
I can only do that for a few scenes. Those scenes are either the most memorable, most relatable, or dumbest scenes in the book. I'll reread the scene a few times so I can imagine how it would play out.
The truth is, I don't even really try. It just happens. Like me picturing which angles the camera would pick it up from, close ups, long shots, stuff like that. Occasionally, I'll think about casting, potential production budget, the technical stuff like that, but mostly, when I read it, the image I usually have in my head is how it could actually look on the big screen.
When a character says something sassy or emotional I say it out loud and pretend to be the character. (I'll even get super emotional and cry during super sad parts)
Books are like dramas for me...So I scream at the characters. Stuff like... "OH HELL NO" "I KNEW THAT WAS COMING" "BOY REALLY?!" "GIRL NO" "Oh no, oh no no, no, NO, NO NO NO NO NO, NOPE!"

I do this all the time like ALL the time
YourL0cal Otaku I do this too! I literally close the book and basically give them a 4 page essay about what they should’ve done and how things would be different, and how the problem would be solved easily, or what I “would’ve” done had I been in their situation
When a character does something really embarassing, I close the book, put it down and freak out as if I did it. Or when there's an extrem plottwist that I TOTALLY did not expect, I stop reading and start talking about the book, the plot and how this just happened as if someone listened to me. Janina S I relate soooo much to the first one, and was thinking I was the only one doing that lol. Also not only books, if there is a cringeworthy/really embarrassing scene in a movie or series I just run out of the room and wait out there until the scene finishes. I know, I know, I’m weird.
*When you're reading one of the pages of a book and you realize that your mind has been somewhere else and you have to reread the whole page all over again because you weren't even paying attention-*
4:28 If a character smirks then I'll smirk if a cha r.c acter gasps then I'll gasp.. I just do it out of habit.. It's strange.. (especially when I'm in class lmao)
When I read a book and finish it , for some reason I start behaving like the main character (or the other character I loved) and start thinking like them in my mind for atleast a day (I don't purposely do it ,it just happens ), I call it "bookhangover"
my weird reading habit is going through a reading slump throughout the whole school year then in the summer I could finish a book in a day edit: woah thanks for all these likes glad people can relate to me 😂 another update: so I’ve started to get back into reading again since school ends in 2 weeks and what’s really helped me break out of this slump was the sun is also a star by Nicola Yoon! totally recommend reading this. I haven’t finished it yet but I’ve gotten to about page 50 in like a week (which is a new record for me when I read during the school year 😂)
I find great pride in figuring out parts of the story, twists, and endings of books, so I don't read the last chapter or page; but I do check that last page's number so I know when I reach the EXACT middle of the story Idk why symmetry?
I do the same! And I will still check how many pages I have left even if I'm really interested in the book and don't want to put it down. Such a weird habit
I just get way too invested in what I'm reading. Like if something really bad happens I'll just set down the book and like walk across the room and back just to mentally prepare myself for the results of the bad thing. Or if something really good happens I'll take a moment to let it sink into my brain (and try not to squeal)(probably while smiling manically). Oh and I also talk out loud to characters when they're about to do something stupid or when I think they should do something.
ok here comes my weirdness: 1. when reading a book and I accidently see the last chapter I yell at myself for spoiling the story 2. when I read a book and I see all caps in the dialoge i say, "welp someones yelling..." 3. when I read I fiddle with my bookmarks 4. I make my bookmarks and make them look like food. So im basically torturing myself by making myself hungry while reading. 5. when I read I create the character looks and personalities in my head and I create the setting. So its like watching a movie. 6. whenever a book describes a tall and strong man I create the same body structure just different hair and face for those characters. 7. when I read a hard back book I open and close the book continuously because I like the crackle sound of the spine. 8. I listen to music when I read 9. once I read a 200pg book in 2 weeks and then right after that finished a 400pg book in 4 days 10. when I read mystery books (like the A-Z mystery books :P) I yell at the book because I blame a certain character for the crime. 11. I read all these books about people dieing and murder but I hate horror movies 12. I can walk around while reading and not bump into anything 13. when im in school in class and the teacher tells me to stop reading I close the book, hide it under my desk, open the book back and continue to read in secret. 14. if someone annoys me I threaten to smack them with a book and if they take my book a take out a thicker book. .~. oop~ that's a lot anyway that's all mah weirdness
I like making specific playlists that would set the atmosphere of the book. Like if there's an intense battle or emotional character moment, I would stop reading just to have music play to help elevate the moment
I love them smell of new books and old books that have been well taken care of. My grandmother has a shelf next to her kitchen and she gave me a book from that shelf that smells like banana bread!
I react way to intensely when I read. When there’s a joke, I laugh out loud. I guess that’s okay when I’m at home, but I was in my science class today reading 2 mins before the bell and a really funny scene came up and I laughed so hard. That was weird
@@kayleemccallister5292 Very brief summary is that they held a special hunger games with 2 previous winners from each district(so Katniss and Peeta are in it again) and SPOILER they end up becoming allies with a bunch of people and end up blowing up the arena, sparking a rebellion and prompting the capital to destroy District 12, so the last line of the book is Gale telling Katniss that there is no more District 12, which is what I'd spoiled myself with after only reading the first 2 chapters
Apparently, my facial expressions change subconsciously depending on the circumstances. The only reason I even noticed was because I was reading The False Prince the one time I ever read in the living room. I was reading the scene where the main character is in the dungeon being interrogated, and Mom was like, "What's going on? Your face looks really mean." And that was the last time I overcame my self-consciousness and read in front of my family. Also, reading upside-down? How are these people not getting nosebleeds?
Yeah, I've surprised mine with vocal reactions, they usually don't ask after the first bit because they know a book rant is coming if they stay. XD I liked The False Prince too.
@@HieiIsMINE I've ranted to my mother and my sister for a hole entire hour about how this girl could've saved the guy from dying from a arrow if she wasn't crying
1. I feel ya. My mom says my expressions change all the time while I'm reading 2. do you like the false prince? its one of my favs and 3. I don't have anything else to say, I just felt like I had to add a 3
I have a tendency to look up from my book when something really extreme happens and then just have an extreme reaction, whether it be crazy hand motions, spewing gibberish out of my mouth or just shaking my head sadly. Sometimes it’s so extreme that I start to pace.
Yeah, sometimes you need time to process those kind of things, in my pacing I often think out loud about the consequences, what might happen next, before returning to the book 😅
Sometimes people will be talking to me while I'm reading for like five minutes and I won't hear a word... It's happened a lot... Also I can read while about 20 people talk on a bus... I have a problem😶
@Noel Jinks oh wow 😂. I remember when I was in third grade, I would slowly take my book off my desk and read in on my lap while the teacher was talking. Did it for about a month and never got caught 😂😂😂
same! I'll just get distracted with whatever else I'm doing and not listen to the audiobook and I also can't stand most of them because I speak (and read) very fast so most readers are too slow for me to not go crazy listening to them. Once I know the book tho, it's great background noise (like Harry Potter while cooking or something)
When reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix I always say “hem, hem” when Umbridge says it no matter where I am once I did it in the middle of class
I can never picture characters as full fleshed people, I only see them as beautiful moving drawings , like animated because that way everything could be adapted exactly like I imagine it
I just don't read the name at all. When I read Measle Stubbs and the wrath monk in Swedish, I didn't know his name wasn't Swedish so when I had to describe it, I pronounced it super weird
I do that too sometimes, or I just keep pronouncing the name as I thought it was in the beginning. Ex: Maryse from The Mortal Instruments. for whatever reason, I always pronounced her name as 'Maureese', not 'Marise', as it's supposed to be pronounced. I still pronounce her name like that while reading, even after watching the whole show.
I sometimes take a pause when there's a moment when something I waited for to happen happens and just shut my book and take a minute to breathe and fangirl.
i do that a LOT!! i literally squealed one time during independent reading time at my school last year because I was so happy. i got a weird look from everyone else but my teacher understood 🤣
I have two: -When I'm at the end of a book I'll find a song that I think perfectly suits the scene and listen to it till the end but I'll have to read the last word at the exact end of the song (cue a ton of rewinding songs) -I must fold down page corners and bend spines cause it makes the book feel used and read.
In some books they don’t explain what the characters look like straight away,so I imagine them different, and throughout the book I just ignore all the words that describe the characters or plug it in with what I imagine 😅
"People really are like houses with vast rooms and tiny windows. And maybe it's a good thing, the way we never stop surprising each other." - Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda
I also inserted myself into Series of Unfortunate Events and ran around my backyard acting out all of the adventures when I was little I still put cinnamon in my hot chocolate though #ThanksSunny
Spanish is my native language but I read mostly in English and I automatically process it in my head(?) Idk but sometimes when I get bored I start translating the book to spanish in my mind and it helps me maintain interest
I not only do the expression one but (because I love acting) I have to read the dialogue of books out load and voice act them too 😂 this means that I find reading good fiction books unenjoyable when with people and I get annoyed when my parents come upstairs while I’m reading as I am voice acting it too
@@laurafayehp that's legit. It can be hard finding descent fanfic. If nothing else maybe record yourself reading bits of books and try to become an audiobook reader. :)
My weird habits are making facial expressions when they are mentioned, trying to make the sounds when a character says how one should pronounce a word or a name and also reading the last sentence of the book (not always but sometimes). The last one can either spoil something, not very often though, or it can actually leave you with a feeling of suspense, which happens most of the times. Like when I read the last sentence I think "what could've made the narrator say this?" which kind of draws me into the story and intrigues me, catches my interest. I guess. I do quite a lot of the mentioned ones though...
christinaa OMGGGGGGG same for the first two things. When it says that the character made a face or sound and I don’t immediately know what it looks or sounds like I do it myself 😂
8:44 OMGGGG THIS IS MY HABIT!!!! i also stuck out my tongue when im extremely immersed in the story and this ONLY happens while reading cuz some ppl have this habit while doing every activity theyre focused in
I may read the last chapter of a book. It helps motivate me to read the rest of the book. I usually do this when I have to read a book for school. If that doesn't work, I'll read a sparknotes summary of the book. Most assigned books are so boring.
I have this thing for the last line of books. I normally read those first. It’s the last thing you read, therefore it’s most likely what the author wants you to take away from the story. I love being able to read the book with the last line in mind bc it helps me see more of the building of the main point or takeaway and other details I might not have seen before. The best example of this is The Book Thief. Not only is the last line powerful in itself, but it helped me better understand Death’s narration and perspective on the story knowing that Death is haunted by humans and it helped me see the development of the character.
Whenever I think a character is going to die or two characters seems they’re likely to form a romantic relationship later in the book, I look for spoilers on Pinterest and Instagram to see if it happens And I do the characters face expression too, I become an actress lol
Ok this is my weird reading habit: I have to keep moving. One minute I'm sitting down cross legged then doing a shoulder stand with my back to the wall, then lying on my front with my feet underneath me. All the while I am fully engrossed in my book.
With a lot of old classics, like the scarlett letter, I have to listen to the audiobook while following along with the book because I have a hard time with all of the old english
I don’t do this on paper books, but I FILL my Kindle books with notes. Sarcastic comments and expressing joy at characters charactering and screaming at them and noting foreshadowing.
@@mythandmayhem1134 I'm still worki g on my Kindle annotating game. There are only four colors 😭 But I do like the fact that I can take any length note I want instead of cramming stuff into the margins.
I've caught myself acting as a character., like I was reading Winter the other day, and I realized I was reading a loud Cinder's dialogue. I also listen to music too, but only instrumental.
I have a habit where whatever kind of book I'm reading, and the character's way of speaking and thinking becomes my own and on occasion the voice in my head sounds like what theirs would.
The only time I do that spoiler thing is when I feel myself getting bored of a book and I need something to keep me interested in the story. I do the same for series, I'll watch an episode 4 seasons forward so I have something to look forward to or to judge whether it will eventually get interesting. I am blessed with the ability to purposefully forget things and have read my favourite books for the first time multiple times - currently in the process of forgetting hp book 3.
Great @@naelie2288 happy to hear I'm not alone. Sometimes the first few episodes just don't grab your attention enough and you need to see if this series will be worth your time.
Just discovered this channel. Really cool and relatable. Personally, before I go to sleep I go over the plot of the book so I don't forget what I've read for tomorrow's reading because I read in intervals through the day (early before I leave the house, before boarding the bus to work, during work luls - I work at a library - and when I get home and procrastinate)
I was so stuck after reading "Everything I Never Told You"Lydia shook me up killing herself over a guy that wasn't interested in girls it was devastating for her
Try being a book nerd wih a maladaptive daydreaming disorder... you literally cannot focus on anything else but that book ALL THE TIME, and legit leave the book opened and pace around the room for minutes (haha i meant hours) daydreaming
I feel connected to you on a spiritual level. Sometimes I can be washing the toilet or be doing something completely unrelated to reading and I'll start thinking about something that happened 100 pages ago in the current book I'm reading.
When I’m reading I like to imagine everything playing out in my head like a movie. So I find pictures of people on the internet that I think would fit the appearances of the characters, and I imagine them acting out the scenes in my head.
I can honestly say I did not expect to see myself in Jesse's video today haha. I love how creative these videos are lately 10/10. And the editing? Legendary.
1:57 I relate but only with the last page because I like to know how things end and then throughout just try and think how they’ll get to that ending. It makes me more immersed in the story
When I’m still on the first or second chapter of a book I always read the last paragraph of the book because the story is typically already resolved so nothing will be spoiled however it gives you a good idea about the character development and the mood of the majority of the book and it also helps add that level of urgency to finishing the book when the plot slows because you want to know how that character ended up in/feeling that way

I also do this😂
Me too!
Me
Same here. And then if it goes on too long I start seeing red and have to dnf it.
ok here comes my weirdness:
1. when reading a book and I accidently see the last chapter I yell at myself for spoiling the story
2. when I read a book and I see all caps in the dialoge i say, "welp someones yelling..."
3. when I read I fiddle with my bookmarks
8. I listen to music when I read
9. once I read a 200pg book in 2 weeks and then right after that finished a 400pg book in 4 days
10. when I read mystery books (like the A-Z mystery books :P) I yell at the book because I blame a certain character for the crime.
11. I read all these books about people dieing and murder but I hate horror movies
12. I can walk around while reading and not bump into anything
13. when im in school in class and the teacher tells me to stop reading I close the book, hide it under my desk, open the book back and continue to read in secret.
14. if someone annoys me I threaten to smack them with a book and if they take my book a take out a thicker book.
.~. oop~ that's a lot anyway that's all mah weirdness
Lanapasquana :p Same with me!!! 🤣🤣🤣
That's unexpectedly... exactly what I do! I always have about 7 to 8 thick books in my bag
I do literally all of these things!
I relate so much to number 5
I can read while walking and not bump into anything either. I do this all the time.
I like making specific playlists that would set the atmosphere of the book. Like if there's an intense battle or emotional character moment, I would stop reading just to have music play to help elevate the moment
I do this all the time😂
Same😂
Me too!
That sound cool. Maybe I will try it with some reread book.
I do this too lol
Before I read a book I smell it😂😂😂😂
Omg me too I thought I was the only one 😂😂
What
I think everyone does that
I love them smell of new books and old books that have been well taken care of. My grandmother has a shelf next to her kitchen and she gave me a book from that shelf that smells like banana bread!
Who doesnt
I react way to intensely when I read. When there’s a joke, I laugh out loud. I guess that’s okay when I’m at home, but I was in my science class today reading 2 mins before the bell and a really funny scene came up and I laughed so hard. That was weird
Midnight Reasons same with me!!!
I react to things or dialogues in books as well, like laughing or crying or cringing 😁🤣
lmao aww that must have been awkward af yet hilarious at the same time
I do that when I am sure I am alone. That's when I am my truest self
I do the same. I get really emotionally invested. 😂😂😂 Laugh, cry, cringe 🤣🤣🤣
I read the last sentence first
Idk why but I just do it and yeah that’s it
Me too, so glad I'm not alone
me too, there is some... adrenaline in it? :D
I've only done that once for Catching Fire and immediately regretted it, so basically I don't plan on doing that again
@@LoveAllThings3 what happened with catching fire? The Hunter Games Trilogy? I've only read the first one
I love that book. Yas... IT IS GREAT
Yeah, I've surprised mine with vocal reactions, they usually don't ask after the first bit because they know a book rant is coming if they stay. XD I liked The False Prince too.
@@HieiIsMINE I've ranted to my mother and my sister for a hole entire hour about how this girl could've saved the guy from dying from a arrow if she wasn't crying
1. I feel ya. My mom says my expressions change all the time while I'm reading
2. do you like the false prince? its one of my favs
and 3. I don't have anything else to say, I just felt like I had to add a 3
I always calculate how many pages I read in one sitting
Same! Lol
...i am multilingual and if i love a series I need to read/have it in every language I speak... (I've got over 30 harry potter books I need help)
wow that ust be hard to read all the books in every single language but cool!
Sometimes I’ll pick a character that reminds me of myself and read their lines out loud
I do it randomly
With any character..
It annoys meh
Oof I’ve never thought about that, imma try this 😂
I sometimes do that😂
This is adorable oh my god
i do this all the time 😂💕
I have a tendency to look up from my book when something really extreme happens and then just have an extreme reaction, whether it be crazy hand motions, spewing gibberish out of my mouth or just shaking my head sadly. Sometimes it’s so extreme that I start to pace.
I do this as well^^ also if the tension gets too much and I just have to shake myself out of it to enjoy the rest ^^
Yeah, sometimes you need time to process those kind of things, in my pacing I often think out loud about the consequences, what might happen next, before returning to the book 😅
I do this ALL the time!

Exactly!
oh my word yes!!! i need to be involved in these characters' arguments, it is vital to my reading process.
My bus has 70 people on it and I read on it everyday
@@laraejohnson6006 I applaud your talent, stranger. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Same they cancel it out, and then if it's quiet I just can't concentrate
Same, when I get going, I can block out everything, one time I looked up from reading in school and my whole class was gone.
I cannot read audiobooks. I DONT KNOW WHY!! my teacher made us listen to an audiobook every night, and I just brought the book home..
Same! I need to read it
Audiobooks make me sleepy
Same
I prefer physical books too! 📚😅
4:30 I literally did that today when the character opened her mouth in shock I did it too....i do it all the time even in school it's REALLY wierd
When reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix I always say “hem, hem” when Umbridge says it no matter where I am once I did it in the middle of class
Me too
Same
That's commitment to reading right there 😂
I can never picture characters as full fleshed people, I only see them as beautiful moving drawings , like animated because that way everything could be adapted exactly like I imagine it
when a character has a name I can't pronounce I read their name as their nicknames, even if it's the whole thing spelled out
I just read like the first letter of their name and ye watever.
example:
Arabella
Me- Ara-asdfghjkl
I just don't read the name at all. When I read Measle Stubbs and the wrath monk in Swedish, I didn't know his name wasn't Swedish so when I had to describe it, I pronounced it super weird
Me: *reads the name*
Person: It's pronounced like *insert name*
Me:.....*continues saying it wrong*
@@k.c.maiale7504 SAmE😂
I do that too sometimes, or I just keep pronouncing the name as I thought it was in the beginning. Ex: Maryse from The Mortal Instruments. for whatever reason, I always pronounced her name as 'Maureese', not 'Marise', as it's supposed to be pronounced. I still pronounce her name like that while reading, even after watching the whole show.
The benefits of reading the last portion of a book:
If you don’t want to read it anymore, you know the end is exciting so you carry on reading anyway.
Or it’s like the book version of when a movie starts off with an event and then montages to days, weeks or whatnot prior to such event. You know? 😂
Molly Rose yeah 😂
I sometimes take a pause when there's a moment when something I waited for to happen happens and just shut my book and take a minute to breathe and fangirl.
@Clari Same ! 🤣 i’m like "Oh yeah !!! I knew it !!"
i do that a LOT!! i literally squealed one time during independent reading time at my school last year because I was so happy. i got a weird look from everyone else but my teacher understood 🤣
i read trashy wattpad books to get myself out of a reading slump
Sometimes I prefer the trasht wattpad books to actual books... Least they know what we want and don't kill off every character

Hold on you might be onto something here 😂
Bruh what a mood
I call creases on books "love lines" because it shows how many times a book has been read and loved
love that!
Oh gosh! You actually noticed my comment!😆😆😆
I have two:
-When I'm at the end of a book I'll find a song that I think perfectly suits the scene and listen to it till the end but I'll have to read the last word at the exact end of the song (cue a ton of rewinding songs)
-I must fold down page corners and bend spines cause it makes the book feel used and read.
N/ A you puppy dog ear them!! Those poor books!!!
I personally dont dog ear, but i understand the want to make the book look loved
I can relate to the "correcting sentences"-one so much. Btw I'm a hobby-writer
Yes!!!!!
In some books they don’t explain what the characters look like straight away,so I imagine them different, and throughout the book I just ignore all the words that describe the characters or plug it in with what I imagine 😅
Thats happed to my soooo many times, o my gosh!💖💖💖

When I read/write I find myself pulling their facial expressions without even meaning to
Sometimes I listen to music when I read.
Bookshelf Tip: Organise them from tallest to shortest. It looks so much cleaner. 💯% works
Also *trigger warning* taking the book jacket's off your hard covers make books look so glam
i can’t read while listening to music but if i‘m in the train or something i have to listen to music while reading because i can’t concentrate
I organise by genre. Mostly because it's easier to find a book.
I used to do colour order. Then I used alphabetical by the surname or the author. Now I just go by genre and in order of trilogies or series’s
I also inserted myself into Series of Unfortunate Events and ran around my backyard acting out all of the adventures when I was little
I still put cinnamon in my hot chocolate though #ThanksSunny
When I get to the SpiCY part of the book I start to sit up really straight and lip the words, I also have a big smile on my face.
Spanish is my native language but I read mostly in English and I automatically process it in my head(?) Idk but sometimes when I get bored I start translating the book to spanish in my mind and it helps me maintain interest
same dude but I do the translating thing from spanish to english
That's so cool, I've never heard of anyone trying that!
Oh my god I do that too!!! from Spanish to English, though
I not only do the expression one but (because I love acting) I have to read the dialogue of books out load and voice act them too 😂 this means that I find reading good fiction books unenjoyable when with people and I get annoyed when my parents come upstairs while I’m reading as I am voice acting it too
If you read fanfic, have you ever considered podficing? Just a thought. :)
Natsu Kmiki I have trouble reading fanfic because I cringe too much 😂
@@laurafayehp that's legit. It can be hard finding descent fanfic. If nothing else maybe record yourself reading bits of books and try to become an audiobook reader. :)
YESS!! I do that ALL THE TIME to help with my voice/tone when acting 😂
I make up a character with an entire background and everything and put it in the story line 📖
That is sooooo cool!!
Every fanfic ever
Thats interesting
I also do that to save my fav characters ;-; The authors sometimes go ways too cruel on them I'm sad :(((
That's just fanfiction.
Omg yes I do that too!
I read all the credits, copyrights, publication details, dedication, acknowledgements whatnot before I actually read ze book.
Wait what?? How do you do it? I can't read any of that because I will get bored and then I will give up on the entire book.

Imagine reading the last chapter of Mockingjay before the whole book
S T O P THAT THOUGHT HURTS ME
Imagine reading the last chapter of allegiant...😨oh the horror
I may read the last chapter of a book. It helps motivate me to read the rest of the book. I usually do this when I have to read a book for school. If that doesn't work, I'll read a sparknotes summary of the book. Most assigned books are so boring.
Oh god
@@adyasrivastava5745 Oh my god don't remind me of it...I wept like hell when I read it.
It will spoil the whole book for that person
“I wanna watch you while you read” haha you wanna watch me imitating a character dying, cuz like I’ve done it... multiple times before😂
I have this thing for the last line of books.
Whenever I think a character is going to die or two characters seems they’re likely to form a romantic relationship later in the book, I look for spoilers on Pinterest and Instagram to see if it happens
And I do the characters face expression too, I become an actress lol
yes oh my god !!!!! specially with romances , i always wanna check if its worth it to get invested in a relationship
I used to read the last few pages to see if characters died. And then I just kind of ... stopped 😅
Ok this is my weird reading habit:
I have to keep moving.
I understand you in such a deep level 😭❤️

The only time I do that spoiler thing is when I feel myself getting bored of a book and I need something to keep me interested in the story. I do the same for series, I'll watch an episode 4 seasons forward so I have something to look forward to or to judge whether it will eventually get interesting. I am blessed with the ability to purposefully forget things and have read my favourite books for the first time multiple times - currently in the process of forgetting hp book 3.
Yeah I do that with tv shows!
I always fix the writing style as I read and I act out facial expressions lol

When I’m reading I like to imagine everything playing out in my head like a movie. So I find pictures of people on the internet that I think would fit the appearances of the characters, and I imagine them acting out the scenes in my head.

When I’m still on the first or second chapter of a book I always read the last paragraph of the book because the story is typically already resolved so nothing will be spoiled however it gives you a good idea about the character development and the mood of the majority of the book and it also helps add that level of urgency to finishing the book when the plot slows because you want to know how that character ended up in/feeling that way
I wait until a series is complete, then I buy all of the books at once and do a reading marathon...it makes me feel complete ❤️
