I feel like I have a fairly common opinion on dog earing.
Dog earing your books: Cool
Dog earing my books: Sleep with one eye open
haha yes I can relate lol
I personally dog ear the pages if the books worn out but I would never do it on a book in good condition or someone else's book lmao
Also to not dog ear it so that half the page is covered just keep it up in the corner so you arn't creasing the text.
dog ear your own books:thats fine
dog earing borrowed books:nah fam
Me too
When the sticker on the book doesn’t come off in one piece
Ugh, yes! Or worse yet, when it won't come off at all without damaging your book so you're forced to leave it there. *shudders*
I HATE this and it always happens to me. :(
yesss! and also when they put a sticker looking thing about the movie on the cover, and it literally can’t be taken off bc it’s part of the cover
When you get water on a book and the pages are never the same again...
This!!! I always have my drink bottle near me and am super paranoid. When there is a spillage I die a little inside 💔
I had a watermelon explode over my book... never the same again
I never purposefully spill water on a book but I sort of like the wavy pages once they dry (as long as the text inside isn't damaged). Gives it a story and a ~history~ even if that history is just me being dumb and dropping it in the bath lmao
That usually happens on pages where someone dies
for me always tears
A pet peeve I have that was not mentioned is when you go into a bookstore and discover that every single copy of the book you want is damaged in someway.
Yesss
Yes! And when you go into a bookstore and you want to buy the first book in a series and they only have multiple copies of the sequel.
Nat The Fae
Yess! They have the rest of the series, but they don’t have the 1ST book in the series. The book you NEED to read to understand the world, be introduced to the characters e.t.c!
The spines that are all white and damaged at the edges because they just shove the books against each other. The ruined paperbacks scar me everytime
YES. YES. AND YES.
When you sweat from your hands really easily and your hands start to sweat and you get the cover all sweaty.
Bro that never happend to me but if that happend ...............
YES I hate that so much
Story of my life
omg i thought I was the only one
YES IT'S AWFUL
When your library carries the majority of a series, but to finish the series you have to buy only some of it.
I think I'm going through the same thing! I want to finish reading the Maximum Ride manga and my library, even B&N, don't have any books pass book 9!
@@jge8144 I'm sure you've found this out by now, but for anyone who doesn't know, there are only 9 volumes of the manga/graphic novel, and there aren't likely to be more, sadly. I believe the last one was published in 2015, and they only cover around half the story . . .
I had to do this for the selection series!!!! Ugh
My peeves:
Books that don’t make it obvious they are part of the series (having a number on the spine, the cover not saying it is part of a series, etc)
And on that note...
When library stickers cover up the numbers on the books in a series
Yes! I hate when these happen!
Urgh.. This one is definitely the no 1 pet peeve on my list😶
Yes 👏🏻 so much yes 👏🏻
Lady Phoenix My library uses those round yard sale stickers on the spines and numbers the series. My library is very thoughtful.
I hate getting a book and then learning like halfway through that it's a sequal!
Because then, I've,
1: Spoiled myself.
And 2:
Have no idea how to find the read of the series
When the synopsis isn’t on the back cover
!exactly!! i don't care which famous author called it a mix of two popular books!!
YESSS! I don’t care if Eliza Henderson likes the book, I want to know WHAT the book is about
I know right??
something i have noticed is if its a paperback then it usually is on the back but if its a hardcover then it is on the flap (if there is one)
EXACTLY!! i don’t care what other people say about the book, i want to know what it’s about 😔
Wait....also when spines of books dont have numbers on them and you have to read the summary at the back (and get spoilers for the second/third/fourth book) when trying to figure out which one to read first!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE TELL THE MARKETING/PUBLISHING PEOPLE!!!!!!
Spellbound what you could do is check the copywrite year number instead. Then you can figure out the order
I accidentally just read Escaping from Houdini (3rd book) ahhh (I haven’t read the first two yet lol)
HAPPENS TO ME ALL THE DAMN TIMEEEE
goodreads usually has the correct order. Also: I mostly stopped buying sequels to series I haven't started with one author as an exception because I like the covers of those books.
I. HATE. THAT.!!!
Another bookish pet peeve:
When a sentence ends on a different page then it started on
You say, Last page! but then you flip it over to finish the sentence and continue reading
Mine is similar and that's when a climactic ending of a chapter finishes at the top of the left-hand page [it's like three or four lines] and I wanna stop and build the tension and mystery for the next time I read but my eyes flit over to the right-hand page and I spoil it
Bro I Hate that so much
AAAAARHG
Wanting to read the book but also not wanting to finish it quickly and then having nothing to read
"I released the breath i didn't know i was holding".....every FREAKING BOOK!!!!!!
Don't worry mine won't say that....
Cos it hasn't got a first person pov!
--Eh I'm kidding it's a horrendously over used line--
A court of thorns and roses in a nutshell
That must be a YA thing because I don't remember seeing it in adult fiction.
She loosed a breathe... He loosed a breath...
YEAH, IM TALKING TO YOU SARAH J. MAAS!
No hate on her, she seems like a very wonderful person, just it's always that one LINE!
For how much people refer to this line, I have never encountered it. Maybe, because I don't read a lot of YA fantasy. 😂
My #1: when the books in a series aren’t numbered on the cover! Especially when you accidentally pick up a book in the middle of the series and the synopsis is full of spoilers.
JUST PUT THE NUMBER ON THE BOOK PEOPLE
I did this with the ninth book in a series, I think, and SHIT
So relatable
I’ve bought like,, 4 books that I didn’t even realize were in 4 series. I thought they were standalone books. And bc all of them are actually books that are in the middle of 4 different series, I never bothered reading them cuz they sounded too confusing (I mean duh ofc it’ll be confusing if they’re from the middle of a series) now that I’m quarantined with only the books I have on my shelf I decided to read them, only to realize that they are apart 4 different series (all because the authors couldn’t be bothered to number them and put “The ..... series” on top)
That happened to me and I was like wait what this hold up WHAT IS THIS!?!
Yes! It’s such an inconvenience especially when I’m organizing my bookshelf by the series and I have to look them up to know how they’re ordered
I hate it when there is that one character who does something so freaking stupid in a dangerous situation.
Star lord
Sakshi Baoker haha bruh!! So trueee! 😂
@@sakshibaoker7886 yeah he should have not done that even in anger
Neil josten
I still love Percy Jackson regardless of his untimely sassery sooo . . .
-When you finish a series but you find another series from the same author that corresponds with the other series
-When you get too attached to a character but remember they’re not real or they die
-When the cover/ page tears
-When you have a headache but want to keep reading
-When the book comes damaged
-When your mind keeps wandering and you find yourself re-reading the page
-When you have overflowing bookshelves
I...feel...personally....attacked
This just described 2020 for me as far as reading.
This is me in every way 😅
WHAT REALLY BUGS ME is when the text shifts from light to dark (ie; page 1, *page 2* )
Some of my Percy Jackson books have that and it's so annoying
OMGGG WHYYY
It burns my eyes
“When the book repeats certain words a lot.”
The word “said”: *You dare oppose me mortal*
Kinda cute how you call it dog ears, meanwhile we in Germany say "Eselsohren" (donkey ears) yeah I know, the most uninteressting fact. Now you wasted time reading it. Ur welcome
dhdjhd in poland we have the same thing "ośle uszy"
Same! But we call them "ezel oren" ( donkey ears )
Same in Hungary
A pet peeve of mine is when I’m reading the second or third book in a series and the author repeats everything that happened in the first book(s). I get why they need to remind the someone what happened previously, but sometimes they’re too lengthy and boring to read.
*cough* Harry Potter *cough*
I know it was necessary for the people who read it when it was released, but for the people (like me) that just discovered it, and read it all in once, it’s very annoying...
I just started reading The Unbound and the author/main character keeps rehashing what happened in The Archived and that's annoying the heck out of me.
It happened a few times in magnus chase but it was fine because it wasn't too detailed but it was still annoying
My pet peeve generally is when people try to talk to me while I'm reading!!! It's so frustrating. Love your videos Jessie they always make my day!
Vlee 123 Yolo this is so true
Omggggggggg so relatable!! Whenever my non reading extrovert friends talk to me while reading and DONT EVEN GET THE HINTS WHEN IM IGNORING THEM i just like stare at them and politely smile and nod until they go away. 😂😂
Yesss!!! Why do people I don’t know come up and ask me what I’m reading when I’m clearly reading and it’s on the cover?!!
Vlee 123 Yolo turn on music, put on your headphones and blast the music so loud that they can faintly hear it
"when the last book sticks out like a sore thumb"
Me: *glares at throne of glass collection*
"yeah I'm talking to you Kingdom of Ash!"
I cannot agree any less
I wonder why the author did that, because every single book corresponds with each other except for that one and honestly it’s irritating because it’s such a flashy yellow color
I hate when people watch a crappy adaptation of my favourite book ( Percy Jackson ) and now think the book is crappy . Some of my friends refuse to even try . 😂😂😂
ikr!
I hate movie/TV show adaptations in general.😬😭
I'm so glad I started with the books first because I keep hearing how shit the movies are lol, but I'm going to watch them still just to see how bad they are.
I love the Percy Jackson series! I strongly disliked the movies and don’t acknowledge them. My bookish pet peeve is when the author has someone do art of the characters and they look nothing like them! (Percy Jackson Ultimate guide) thank god for fan art especially Viria’s work it’s fabulous!
What happened to the Percy Jackson books is tragic. Your friends are missing out. I just reread the original series, and I forgot how much I loved it.
8:44 its called 'golden finger' or 'protagonist halo' where they have this exclusive power to learn everything because they are the protagonist
Another reason to avoid Rise of Kyoshi (it's not good and I don't know why people like it).
When you buy a book second hand and it has stains on it and you just have no idea what it is
Dorothee.debeukelaer probably food or some drinks. A lot of people eat while reading.
What I don’t like with hardbacks it’s that sometimes the dust cover might be too big and it keeps coming off
oooooof
My copy of HP: GoF.
Mid-series cover changes are the WORST
My favorite series, The Wicked Years by Gregory Maguire, have the same covers for the first, third, and fourth but the second is different. But in the paperbacks, they all match and it pisses me off because the cover for the paperback second book is beautiful but I hate paperbacks.
"I would not wish that on anybody.
Scratch that I'd wish that on every villian ever." *shows Umbridge*🤣
I don’t watch many male youtubers but you’re definitely my favorite. Most male youtubers that I’ve watched do stupid things or they just make me uncomfortable. You just make me feel so cozy
Hannah Altmiller ikrr
Check out Daniel Greene, he's a great fantasy booktuber!
I sort of relate to this for I don't watch many Male booktubers besides Jesse. I usually find myself more drawn to female booktubers.
barely male
I know what you mean but there’s plenty of great male youtubers who don’t do stupid things and are very comfortable to watch - you just have to find them....it’s not really fair to generalise “most male youtubers” as doing stupid, uncomfortable things when that’s really only the ones who happen to get attention for doing said stupid things. there’s plenty of female youtubers who do stupid things too, you’d just choose not to follow them. Some male youtubers I enjoy are Ivan Lam (skincare + makeup), Conan Gray (although he’s working on his music rn), Tom Harlock (comedy), Kaito Ran (vlogs). And there’s loads more you can discover as well. I don’t see why someone’s gender limits you from finding videos you like.
One of my teachers used to say never lend a book unless you expect to never get it back
For the Glossy/matte layer over the book cover
DO NOT PEEL IT OFF!!!
It was happening on my copy of Simon and I peeled and red came off as well as clear.
Just don't do it.
I lent 3 books out to a friend who moved away the same year, I got the book about 3 years later.
This isn't technically a bookish pet peeve, but am I the only one who gets frustrated when I read my hody won't feel comfortable in one position, having to swithc vrom time to time!
Mee
Or just when I can't decide where I want to read or what position so i get frustrated...it's the worst. The hoodie thing happens all the time, like when it gets so bunched up it starts to choke you. Ugh, I hate it.
@@lavenderbay279 Also, those blasted headphones that snag on to obstacles, ripping the chord out! Sigh
@@jge8144 YES! I won't buy earpods though, because I know I will lose them, haha
Dog ear YOUR book
Me: ok cool
Dog earing MY book
Me: ughhhh
I don’t mind not ending on an even number but I need to end at a chapter. It’s so unsatisfying to just stop in the middle of pages. I also stop on 100, 200, etc. 🤷♀️😂
When a book keeps repeating the same words over and over again.
Me:
Percy Jackson:
ENcHiLAdaS
DiEt cOkE
But that was kinda the point
Uncle Rick just loves his Enchiladas
I hate it when the first book cover of a series is beautiful, then for the second book they change it and it looks awful
I'm looking at you Seafire!!
“We just sit in front of our camera and scream at you to read our favorite book.” Jessethereader 2019
I decided recently that I wanted to read the entirety of the Shadowhunters Chronicles and since I was reading them so fast I noticed Cassie’s love of the word “incredulously” and it was quite distracting
Now I'm going to be looking for this every time I read the series xD
KitKat Same here. Oh my god. 😟
When I finally read City of Bones, I'll probably do the same lol.
and the word "ducked" like OMG can clary stop ducking everyy two pages clary you are walking in a park clary was there a need to duck clary stop it clary why
DANGER MEN AT WORK OMG yes 😂😂
8:24 I literally no exaggeration screamed “OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!”
(The book thief is my favourite book)
SAME!!!!!
I just finished Order of the Phoenix and I died when I saw Umbridge float across the screen😂
I'm reading order of Phoenix right now
Gracie Leininger it’s so good
Ah, my favorite of the Harry Potter series.
@@harasnicole Me too! I really want to reread Harry Potter but my other books are screaming at me. 😁
@@elvie2230 Same. I've been trying to make this happen for a couple years, but I just have so many books I want to catch up on first.
6:20 soo like when the boyfriend asks what the girlfriend did to annoy her and she says,” you should know” and refuses to speak to him even though it’s -99%- 100% of the time a misunderstanding
ᎷᎾᎾNᏔᎾᏞF ᎠᎡᎪᏔᏚ I think I just got dyslexia from reading that.
I mean, imagine reading and bringing the book IT by Stephen King every you go. Yeah... The cramps, the squinting, the dog ears. I died in the end 😂
So true hahaha😂😂
There are several Stephen King books where I enjoyed the story, but was ready to be done with the book because of how painful it was to carry around and hold when I read it.
The one time reading the ebook saves lives.
Haha, as a non english speaker the term „dog ear“ is totally new to me 😂😂. So fun. The german equivalent is „Eselsohr“ which translates to „donkey ear“ 🙈
XD Seriously? When I read this comment I literally threw my phone down XD
Same goes for the Dutch word: "ezelsoor"
I have come to the realization that, like humans, books over time will become bent, wrinkled, and faded
I remember freaking out once that my book cover bent because it was in my bag and my friend said “books were made to be used”. That’s really stuck with me and even though I still try and keep them in pristine condition it’s reduced a lot of stress when things like that do happen ❤️
they mostly will become just yellow inside tho
I’m not bent
It honestly took me too many years to come to peace with that. I mainly read with paperbacks and all of my Brandon Sanderson books have creases on the spine. With those big books, you sometimes have to crack the spine to even read it
Plato the Third I am
Here’s my book pet peeve...
When characters say “ur” instead of “um”!! Am I the only who hates that?
Also I feel like narrator in books tend to lie really often, and it annoys me!
Also I agree with not being able to pronounce names and places! In my copy of Throne of Glass that I own the back contains the pronunciations of the characters and places, and I am so grateful!! Why don’t all books do that??
YUP!! I agree with you! I'm so thankful for the TOG pronunciation guide even though I mess the way in which I'm supposed to speak them.
I still refuse to pronounce Chaol as a vegetable
I hate it when people dog ear library books
that is not your property excuse me
Or people who do any kind of intentional marking to library books. My library once had an older lady who was cutting the corners off the covers of the large print paperbacks so she could remember which ones she had read. 😰
Or when they write in it with a pen.
@@pzzzt3 that's WILD. I've never heard of someone straight up cutting up the covers. 🤔
Pink Taylor That. Is. Just. Horrifying!!
Pink Taylor Wow how strong you must be to tell the tale! 😢😱
My biggest pet peeve is that when I’m so into the book, I go to turn the page and rip the corner (and then throw the book across the room).
I totally agree about the sudden op protagonist after no time at all and I think that's something our Queen Sarah J Maas did really well with Celeana and something authors should really include in their stories
finally someone said it!!!!!!! that you and thank you SJM
DONT WORRY WE NOTICE THE EFFORT YOU PUT INTO YOUR VIDEOS
OOhhh really random but just wanted to say I love your sweatshirt, it's rather lovely ;)))
I WAS THINKING THAT THE WHOLE VIDEO
when you don't have a bookmark and/or don't want to dog-ear your page so you memorize the page number, but by the time you pick it up again you've forgotten :'(
also when you place a hold on a book like 10 times because when it arrives, YOU CAN'T GO TO THE LIBRARY so the next time you go it's expired and you have to place a hold on it AGAIN
I was literally gonna begin reading "History Is All You Left Me" by Adam Silvera and you uploaded! Psst a bookish pet peeve of mine is when some authors have line that goes someone "held their breath for too long without realizing it."
I love Adam Silvera !! You should read "They Both Die At The End" by him
@@yeshonestlyidek Rereading that one for a good cry! 😃
In the chamber of secrets when petrified Hermione has a page of a library book in her hands, I GET A HEART ATTACK! SHE JUST ROURTURED THAT BOOK, AND SHE'S A BOOK LOVER!!! Omg
If I make a 'reacting to this video' video, will you make a 'reacting to my reacting to you reacting video'??
I had to read this multiple times to get my head around it 😂
I lent a teacher a book a few months ago so she could proof read it and I still am missing it 😕
Bye bye Waste of Space 😔
Well at least it's not taking up space on your bookshelf,,,, it''s no longer a waste of space
I've recently become very aware of words being repeated in a book, I think it's a side effect of taking GCSE (an exam we have in England for anyone who doesn't know) English Literature and the repetition of a word being something you would point out and analyse the purpose of, a similar thing has happened when I watch tv/films/plays because of GCSE drama, I'm now super aware of things like, why did the actor/director/designer etc make that choice, and it has RUINED ME
knock knock
Who's there?
confusion
confusion who?
confusion you
what?
*EXACTLY*
Descriptions are the worst!!! They are either too spoilery and give away Everything, or they can be better than the book itself! Fix it people😂
Jesse: when we all die some day no one is going to remember if you dogeared your books or not.
my tombstone: I dogear my books
I just saw my favorite book in the background and I had a mini heart attak
My pet peeve is when a book I buy has one of those stickers where when you pull it off, it leaves an annoying sticky mess on the front of my gorgeous cover.
Another bookish pet peeve is when pages stick together like from the glue or whatever UGHHHH. To cure that I always run my index finger down the middle to check for stuck- together pages.
*coffee*
I buy a lot of books 2nd hand, once I bought a book and two pages stuck together so strongly I couldn't even read it without destroying the print.
@@jemma2441 Dang. I recently bought Christine's "Again, But Better" at Target and did my usual thing of running my finger down the pages and a lot of the pages were closely glued....not bad like yours but still it kinda annoys me.
When the dust jacket is ugly but the cover underneath is BEAUTIFUL (ahem, the original cover for warriors books) and normally that wouldn’t be a problem with my own books because I would just take the dust jacket off but at my old school’s library all the dust jackets were TAPED to the actual book so I could never see the original beautiful cover :(
I love small print, idk it seems so tidy. I don’t know why it makes me feel that way.
Me too. Kind of feels more sophisticated?
4:33 if books were printed by the Archive of Our Own.... throw in the TAAAAGS
One of the books I own was missing thirty pages and I was like "guess Daphne's in France now"
My pet peeve is when books have a cliffhanger ending and there isn't a next book or the next book comes out the next year
I was sitting on the floor dusting and reorganizing my books while listening to him reacting to the pet peeves. Halfway through I realised that I've trapped myself in stacks of books.
4:21 it's almost like a anime op
I always end on a number divisible by 10 or the end of a chapter
Hannah Altmiller YAASSS!
I love tiny print!!!!!!!!!!!! It means you can fit more books on your shelf and I hold my books near my face so it seems a normal size.
If I see a series out of order in the library or a store, I just fix it so it doesn't bother me anymore.
my pet peeve is when you go to a book store/kiosk and they have missing books from a series ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S THE FIRST BOOK THAT IS MISSING. like excuse me but i'm not about to start reading a series from like the third book
Oh rip, my “artsy” sister ripped one of my books in half for a project she was doing
That's not okay. Not okay. Did she buy you a replacement? Because she should. And still be deeply ashamed of herself. In so many ways. On so many levels.
When you are almost finished with the page and you go to get the next page and it feels like 2 pages and you check the page numbers and it’s not 2 pages so now you wasted 5 minutes trying to separate pages that weren’t even connected
Two hours ago I was watching one of your 2-year-old videos and now I’m subscribed wow.
ALSO ABOUT THE BENDING THING my delirium books are literally CURVED sooo much because the freaking glue BROKE
Omg this is a pretty big one for me; how at first theres a name and place u dont know how to pronounce so u just say it how you think it goes but get so used to it that when someone or when u search the actual pronounciation up it just too wierd now lol 😂 This always happens to me like in An Ember In The Ashes i can’t get Laia sometimes but Elias has like a million ways too get pronounced (Eliaas, Elius etc)
Yes 5-10 words that describe the book!!!!! ( brilliant)
In some EXCEPTIONAL cases I watch the movie before I read the book *ACCIDENTALLY* ...this happened to me while I was reading maze runners....I read the first book and I was like "Hey there's a movie in this book let's watch it out"....then I started scorch trials book and I was like "okay let's just watch till the part I've finished reading" but I end up watching the entire movie🔥....like WHY did I do that?...and then i toss away the book and watch all the movies in that series and I say I was "NOT INTERESTED" in that book...not fair, girl, *NOT FAIR!* ...but I still do that...well that annoys me so much
Gosh! No! Don’t peel the plastic off the Haruki Murakami book! I’ve done that before! Don’t! It’s just a protective plastic for the cover to last more. Don’t peel it. x)
Also, lots of love, Jesse.
When you open a new book and the spine cracks straight away
I don't think I ever smile this much when I'm watching other UA-cam channels...😏
Jessie this video just made our day . We hate it too when a book goes on sale after you have bought it Shannon has been in the hospital sick and this video just made us bother smile so much thank you for this . -Melanie and Shannon
I like small text it makes me fell like the story will never end even when there is only 2 pages left I all so love thin paper for a similar reason ..... I just like long books
Same! it's so satisfying to flip and feel thin pages and small font just looks good to me.
When you buy a book, read it and then someone buys the same book for you as a gift, then you're just sittin' there with two of the same book like:
📗👈👁👄👁👉📗
"When the book repeats certain words a lot."
That's Pretties and the word "bubbly".
A lot of people don’t know this but books have buzzwords! You can find them on the copyright page towards the bottom it’s a brief description of the book.
When you have to wait for three long behind months for a long awaited book from the library. It was torture but I think the last 2 Warriors: Omen of the Stars books were worth it!
I’m literally in love w that sweater omg.
When the book jacket falls off or rips while reading :)
I don’t understand jackets. Why can’t they just print the cover onto the hardback itself?
one year and a day later and i still adore this video!
2:17 you sound like my creative writing teacher 😂😂 if we repeat the same word within like a chapter or two she takes points away, btw does anyone know a synonym for “of”?
OMG! Jesse you are hilarious!!
Paperbacks that bend when you open them are literally the worst. It’s awful and frustrating.
Omg that barb at Kingdom of Ash. 😂 Also, the last book of the Caraval series 🙄
I liked the idea of books having buzzwords instead of spoiler-y synopsis. My pet peeve is I can't start reading on chapter 13 nor stop reading on it. If i'm on chapter 12, I read till chapter 13 (even if I don't feel like reading) and then bookmark chapter 14. Quite weird I know.
*when you finish a series and are attached to the characters/story and struggle to engage in a new one*
Part of the fun of having multiple copies of a book or a series is reading them and seeing tiny changes. Obviously things like Harry Potter have changes to some wording (such as the UK editions using the word "jumper" and the US uses the word "sweater" for a sweatshirt) but I've noticed some entire references get changed in later editions in order to keep up with the newest generation of readers. That's especially true for "I Know What You Did Last Summer"; the book has had a ton of changes with each new edition that's released!
when the matte film starts to curl and come off of the edges....
Yes. I HATE that
Has anyone else ever gotten a hardback book, flipped the jacket upside down, and waiting to see how people react out of the corner of your eye while reading?
Small prints may be beneficial bc my mom is far sighted, so it helps her little.
Random bookish fun fact: The original hardcover Harry Potter And The Order Of The Pheonix is just as big as Goblet Of Fire but is taller and has 1/2 point smaller font so there are more words per page. Just a nerd spilling random bookish facts on you guys.
