Could you guys make another armor tutorial. Maybe showing the qualitys of different gauntlets, understanding how to adjust to cover gaps, what are the common hotspots that could constrict or Caus blistering, airflow in a helmet. You guys are the only indepth vids I've found so far keep it up you'll make a name for yourselves, great job.

As some one who just learned this sport, and then added everything to my cart (just to see the total- not period accurate, location accurate, or custom fitted), this is EXTREMELY helpful- because I was looking at 15th century first.

I wanna use kind of an Italian kit. Mostly late 1400s/early 1500s. Lets say 1475 Milanese with a poleaxe or halberd. That would be my tank build. If I join the sport, I will definitely put together 2 suits of armor. My 2nd set would be English or Gothic. Probably English because it takes some of the design strengths of Gothic and Milanese armors to make a balanced armor. I like Gothic armor, but its too.... open (light? Waify?) For me. You know what I mean. Its made for mounting and fighting from horseback, and I don't like leaving that many big gaps without plate. Milanese troops were bruisers on foot and their armor reflects that. English men at arms or knights in expensive English sets rode their horses to the battle, but dismounted and fought on foot, so their armor reflects that. Makes sense, as a quality horse was expensive and you cut costs by riding a horse bred for transport rather than a fully fledged wallet-pillaging warhorse

  • @forthegnomes831

My helmet would most likely be a nasal bascinet, so my armor would most likely come from mid 14th century Germany or Italy.
I'm also probably more of a a hit and run kind of guy, so definitely some looser plates would be helpful.
I would also be using either a relatively short mace or sword and a medium small shield, preferably for shield-puching.

It seems the rigid time period is kind of a negative point to this sport. People these days see it as The Rule Of Cool, and quite honestly NOT one soul knows exactly what each and every warrior of the times actually wore other than what was written down and drawn. There could have been very many fighters in rather strange and eclectic gear. I fully understand getting a century picked out but for someone with strong ties to their ancestry, there is no reason why the couldn't accentuate their armor and garb. You think the vikings that went to Turkey kept their thick winter gear? Or did they adopt local customs and armor types that better suited their ways, and the area of which they find themselves fighting in? Only fools stick to one thing and refuse to adapt.

@@irdorath356 LMAO yeah since alloy's outside of bronze were pretty much deadly. Hardened steel was best they get. I think even in modern times, people have issues with titanium outside of the pricing. It isn't a perfect metal by any degree.
