@@DukeTheTank what a absolute legend, but seriously that was too much 😭. I do buhurt myself and I honestly think people should go to a actual shop irl if they can and try them on so see how it's like 👍
Would probably be more work but you should have overlayed the visibility with an image to give reference to how much your vision actually changes from helm to helm, because it’s harder to tell when staring into the blank white void Appreciate the resource nonetheless!
A good sum up of various styles, I enjoyed the presentation. For future reference, I understand that buhurt has it's own jargon, but none of these are a grand bascinet. Grand bascinet is pretty much a normal bascinet, but instead of having an aventail, you have an extra plate riveted to the front. The reason you didn't like the klappvisor is because it's way too large. The visor was rather narrow and the helmet that got a corresponding narrow face, so in the end, it didn't go nearly as low as this one does. My guess is someone liked the look, but didn't care for the rest of the helmet, so they ended up with a helmet visor that doesn't quite work.
Rookie fighter here: I typically wear a R.O.A and it’s got a decent amount of vision. It is a bit stifling on breathing so I have considered switching to a Nasal helm
Is the sallet a rare helmet in buhurt ? Sorry I'm kind of new and trying to get in the buhurt community but for some reason I feel like I never saw someone wearing a sallet (complete with bevor for example) in 5v5s. Maybe it's more suitable for 1v1s because of visibility I guess ? Or maybe because of historicity and time period ? Same goes for the armet I think ? Didn't see that many in fights. Maybe a dumb question though haha. Anyway great video, thanks for your tips and experience ✌️
@@Spaghestti I could be wrong but I think I've seen 2 of them in person in my almost 3 years of doing this, so they are definitely not a helmet that you expect to see at every tournament. I think a lot of it boils down to seeing and breathing. But also people might be concerned about someone grabbing the rear lip of it. I'm nowhere near an expert on this but I can tell you for sure that I barely ever see them.
I own a sallet buhurt but granted it doesn’t use a beaver. I’ve seen about 3-4 other people use it within my 1 year of doing this so it’s not super rare, but it’s very uncommon. Common reason people avoid is it the lip in the back if made historically can easily be grabbed, and also the visibility and breath ability isn’t great without holes being added
@@AlitaGunm99 dang I forgot that one... I'll add it when I get the chance and reupload, kinda figured people would point out a couple and I'll add to it but ya idk how I forgot barbute, they're decently popular
This will be nice, I was thinking about getting a barbute myself. Might also get a Buhurt sallet optimized sallet with a hidden grill and chainmail instead of a bevor for better vision/breathing
pretty insightful! thanks for this!
No way bro sacrificed 10 bucks for every helmet. 🙏
@@ItsArchanger most of them yes lol I think it was worth it to get that info for new fighters

7:37 lol I was holding a taped can of soup. We had a “spin the wheel for random weapons” event.
@@DerangedFinger that could be very effective I think? Maybe? Lol
Thanks for the pic!!
@@DukeTheTank nope, it was terrible! Haha.
I started hitting myself with it to try and bust it open for the show. Diiiiiidnt work.

Dude! The bottom right one with the wooden background was once my helmet! I sold it back at Carolina carnage a few years ago!

Really useful guide for choosing a helmet

I have a buddy who wears one minus a bevor. He swears by it but he also admits it cuts his vision out a bit
