ALSO, REMEMBER THIS! THE SAME PYRAMID TERRAFORMED THAT GETS SHOT BY THE TRAVELER IN THE FIRST CUTSCENE IS WHERE THE RAID TAKES PLACE AND IS THE SAME PYRAMID WITH THE NEZAREC STATUE!
It is likely that Nezarec is the haunting presence of Neomuna citizens. We last saw him deceased in the Moon pyramid in Season of Plunder. But, it would seem that Nezarec is still, somehow, very much alive. I think he'll likely be the final boss of the Root of Nightmares raid. Personally, I love Nezarec, very spooky character and I'm loving all the mysterious, horror-like build up surrounding him. Looking forward to seeing if I'm right when the raid launches. :)

@@thegamingfiend5443 tormentors look more based off Rhulk and probably made by the witness but this could be an earlier raid boss while Nezarec is the main one

I was playing with a friend and as soon as I heard that unknown voice I said to him "this must be Nezarec, I don't know why but it has to be him". Then Caiatl said something about nightmares. At the end of the mission I felt goosebumps when the voice was confirmed being Nezarec haha.
I feel like they should’ve kept his name hidden until he said it.

I have a feeling Nezerac is going to be the main boss of the raid because of the raid's name and how it seems to be related to nightmares, how the nightmares are tied to the lunar pyramid and how he revealed himself in the story

@@SpikeRazzorI’m sure it did say “Ferried from an unknown time and place, a haunting presence has been detected.” And a bit more which to me kinda sounds like the witness has brought back a disciple using time travel and nezarec is a perfect one to bring back
And this is gonna be fun because we don’t know how powerful the witness is now I’m curious how powerful nezerac is. This is gonna be a fun season to unfold
Wouldn’t be surprised if nezerac is close to as strong as rhulk
@sneakyXXRocket i think nezarec will most likely be the most powerful disciple or very close he will be above rhulk in power
Considering that in season of plunder we salvaged pieces of nezerac’s body it stands to reason that we won’t be facing the original nezerac but rather a nightmare version of him. Like rhulk he has his own unique paracausal abilities nezeracs seems to show that he can influence those around him with nightmares as well as keep himself from dying even though his physical body has been desecrated by the fallen
in the delicate tomb lore tab (the weapon containing a piece of Nez) it's being strongly believed that Nez sorta transcends his body, that he lives on through just spirit

The Nezarec statue at the beginning looks indentical to the Nezarec boss model in the files.
I mean yea and also think about that statue looks like a tormentor maybe the witness modeled all its tormentors after its greatest and most powerful disciple

If it got someone like Calus sh*tting his golden pants, you *know* its the literal stuff of nightmares.
Nezarec is already in the vex network and what bungie released about the raid shows a pyramid ship which got hit by the traveller so ig nez goes to the witnesses ship since they showed a unique tormentor in the opening cutscene
They didn't even try to hide the final raid boss.

I believe that had a hand in it too. However, he awakes from it like a nightmare, and with all the nightmarish theming and undertones of the DLC and how it all synergizes with Nezarec and the raid, it was a connection that had to be addressed.
We see that calus's head starts to bleed so maybe the witness was talking to calus in his mind and when the witness came everything turn to nothing but darkness while calus's mind had his ship
@@ThePhoenix329 It is weird though to assume that the Witness, the MOST proficient and powerful darkness user, isn't able to communicate through nightmares which are a domain of darkness

My mind just went bonkers lol hear me out.. Byf made a vid saying Nezarec draws heavy inspiration from the character “Nyarlathotep” (look him up). Nyarlathotep basically is Nezarec in a different series. He can shape shift as well. Now put on a spin foil hat.. What if Nezarec is still the main villain👀 What if Nezarec is the Witness what if he keeps putting everyone in a nightmare trance. Also how did Nezarec resurrect originally to have 4 tombs ??? We know this time the light brought him back but the big mystery is what was his original resurrection power tied to ? That Calus scene is more important than we think… that’s why they didn’t show the being standing before Calus, only the shadow.
I didn't even realize Calus starts bleeding during his Nightmare. Whatever Nezerac showed him is incomprehensible.
Rhulk was devoted to Witness, Calus just wanted ultimate power

I really liked the theory someone said about our Guardian being a former disciple or something similar but exhibiting enough traits that the Traveler risked choosing them as a Guardian which is also the reason why they could you use the Darkness so well but they also said that the Guardian was Nezarec it was a pretty cool theory though

Ironic that Calus would have a nightmare after his leviathan was full of nightmares during season of the haunted.
As for calus and the witness scene here: the first part is really calus talking to the witness. We saw this same situation when calus first arrived at neoluma. The witness is not present with Calus.
Than you pan to the witnesses eyes and you can see that the witness is also seeing what calus saw. Suggesting that the conversation was actually in the mind of Calus.
Hmm, I didn't think much in the Calus nightmare. I figured it was just an intimate threat to get him motivated. I could see it being him, especially since the citizens have mentioned nightmares too. If I had to take a swing I'd guess Nezarec will be in the raid using some paracausal bs to find a way back to existence.
We know he's basically a ghost-in-the-machine from his whispers and the Delicate Tomb exotic. We also know Light and Dark create weird anomalies when violently interacting. Maybe Nezarec will use vex tech to fenangle a new body or something.

This answers the time and place the vex probably picked Nezarec up or he followed the vex before his death because he says he needs the pain to feed what intrigued me is how does he get out of the vex network and into a pyramid and what threat does he pose

@Andrija Nastic didn't that already happen on the moon that have made there way across the galaxy the name root of nightmares Root means original source which mean Nezarec pyramid has been using his powers since the pyramids awaking
@@dropkick3024 Moon Pyramid was originally from Nezarec, but his body got stolen by Mithrax mom and became one of the dark artifacts that powered the pirate houses of the fallen. Although we don’t know the reasons of why Nezarec was death, community believes that he betrayed the Witness or that it got tricked by Savathun.

But the main question I got why did we only see nezarec statue in the ship instead the other like Rhulk can it be the the witness had respected nezarec. Like how the witch queen (I know her name I just can’t spell it) put a statue of oryx and also protected it as well. Idk just a thought I had.
What if. The way we see the witness is a projection of nezarecs influence?

I don’t understand how they have been haunted for centuries if no one knew they was there not even the darkness. So how did he haunt them. Also wasn’t the fallen haunted by him as well. Like how was this possible.

Nah, it’s not. The head is different and it’s much larger. Although, the shape in torso is relatively similar to a tormentor. If anything, this means tormentors were created in the image of Nezarec.
