The apparent god, though much, much stronger than any god the light has faced. The Demigods: The Disciples. Don't let the category name, or their title itself allow you to be fooled. These posses powers as great as the Hive gods like Xavu Arath, and Savathun. Between each, there is a very distinguishable difference in power. First we meet is Rhulk, Disciple (not god) of Strength, as described in his lore book appearances. He is a raid boss, and not a new disciple whatsoever, so he is of the most distinguished and respected of the disciples. He is calm and collected. Calus, Disciple of Conquest. A former Cabal emperor and eternal theatre kid, Calus is a campaign boss, so he's much, much weaker than the other disciples. He is exuberant and violent, choosing theatrics and display over practicality, like Rhulk. He is likely disliked by the other disciples, for being a self-indulgent child who died within a week of being a disciple. Idiot... Ahem, next we have Nezarac. We don't know who the actual fuck this guy is. He's the Disciple of Pain, but was allowed to keep his god title for not being a chubby, paper skin and glass bones cat-faced campaign boss like Calus. That's all we know about him. He's loud, but not as much as Calus, and loves inflicting- you guessed it, pain. The Legends: The Hive, and The Taken serve as extensions of the Witness. Not sure why the Witness didn't put Calus here. The Champions: Eramis owns a sub-faction, but she lost the Darkness. No longer a threat, honestly. She'd make a better disciple choice than Calus, and doing so would have made Beyond Light a lot more interesting, The Soldiers: Hive goons, Taken goons, and MAYBE Scorn. Still no confirmation on a leader for those goons. The Morons: Calus. Just Calus. This is his category.
He just wanted to take a casual stroll after being physically dead for Hundreds of years or longer and being trapped in a Jurassic Park Crystal. Jokes aside, I wonder how and where his Consciousness survived during the Centuries. He knows he's been physically ripped to pieces and his current body regrew from the Travelers Powers hitting him, but there must have been a plan to revive him by other means. Remember the artifacts from season of Plunder, there must have been a plan in place to revive him using those missing pieces, so who knows if There isn't other bosses around to pull out of the Void via ressurection Methods that the Darkness Provides.
That was probably what the Witness planned on doing with the relics back in Plunder. He had his Disciple’s head and could bring him back, but needed the rest of the body to do so.
@@wmad202 and after Eramis failed to provide all of the missing pieces that the Eliksni took, the Witness and Calus fell back on a Plan B to use what pieces of Nezarecs body they had to Produce the Tormentors using Calus Technology and Nezarecs DNA.
I wonder if I'm the only one who get's an idea from the light filled pyramid. The Light energy has almost completely taken it over. Nezarec's resurrection was an accident, and he was merely exploring the power for his own curiosity. But what was the traveler's reason for blasting it with a beam that did nothing to the Witness and managed to resurrect one of it's worst disciples? It used it's powers to convert the pyramid to a vessel of Light, making a vessel we can use to travel through the portal to confront the Witness. Feels like an opposite to the Joker's scheme, even when he knew he was going to lose, during the time before hand he formed Harvy Dent into a vengeful murderer to prove his point, that even a man as righteous as him could descend so low as he. The Traveler knew the Witness would make the portal no matter what the Guardians did, so during it's enemy's advance, it made them a key to the eventual locked door before it even existed. What do you think?
This aged well, it just showed how chaotic the Traveler is, it brings life sure but as we see there's no order to what it does, it makes you understand where the Witnesses people were coming from because they were right about what destruction it brings, intended or not. This is just the first time we see that chaos first hand.
Like, the more Nezarec talks about Savathûn, the more I feel like we should have tried letting Immaru revive her for interrogation or negotiations. We could have been much more prepared for the Witness with her knowledge.
@@DemonReaper105 True, but we know that she fears the Witness and wants to preserve the Traveler, which is good negotiating leverage. If we could beat her, she doesn't stand a chance against the Witness, so I think she'll be more cooperative whenever she comes back.
@@Yvädastra I agree, if Savathun is going to trick us, she will do so AFTER the Witness is gone or incapacitated, and in which she will use us to do so. So no matter what happens, a deception is going to be the end result. But there is something else to wonder about. Remember some of the things Savathun started to realize a little bit before we killed her? Her need to deceive and trick, it was all programmed into her nature by the Witness, and she had to deceive because the trickery was what the worm desired, binding her to the practice of deception. But now there is no worm inside her chest, is there? She realized this, at some point I can't remember but I clearly remember it happened, she realized that she doesn't need it. If we had given her time (Not that we had a choice, but..) she might have completely disintegrated the need to lie and deceive, and be rid of the Witness's influence once and for all. Of course, this wouldn't have happened anytime soon given how long her nature depended on deception, but that was her long term goal.
@@Yvädastra there's also the fact she kind of HAD to lie and trick others, you know, for her worm. now that we turned it into a weapon, she might just be less of a trickster

Still need more time with Nezarec, but from the little I gather from the lore, he is pretty evil. I like how they embraced Rhulk’s damage phase, him chasing you around, and they applied it to Nezarec for almost the full fight. He kinda reminds me of an Elden Ring boss, in terms of visual design and attacks, I love it, while Rhulk sort of reminded me of Mithrix from Risk of Rain 2. My issue with Rhulk was how he kind of just floated around during the first phase shooting intentional lasers, but his second phase with him casually walking around and kicking people and lore make him very great. I know people talk about the dad bod on Nez, but I don’t care, the rest of him looks sick, and I love his battle cries when his attacks, something I thought they should’ve given Rhulk. Only if he didn’t weirdly bug out when people dps on a raised ledge. Otherwise, I think they are both great. And OST? Gotta give it to Rhulk. Both are fantastic, but damn Rhulk’s hits hard
Nezerac’s appearance ruins his character for me. He just looks like a fat version of Rhulk. Everything else about the character is cool. Rhulk wins for me because his appearance, his lore and his voice all go well together.
Nezarec’s sin was my first exotic. Recently I found out about Bungie profile names. So I changed it to Nezarec, Final God of Pain. I think that answers the question
The only thing Id want to hear is his screams tbh, like this millenia old dark prescence is finally brought to his knees and destroyed. One of the Armor pieces talks about how he felt as he died at savathuns hands and to hear him sound genuinely hurt would be really satisfying imo.
this is just a guess. but with osiris having nez’s essence in him id kind of expect for osiris to either go completely rouge, die, or wtv that cult is captures osiris and revives nez through him.
Does anyone else find that the timeline based on Nezarec's dialogue appears to line up with the "death" of the Traveler and the end of the first invasion of the Black Fleet? Nezarec says Savathun killed him and supposedly that was when she took the Veil, presumably ending the first invasion and marking the moment the Traveler went dormant at the same time. The Witness does also say "your pale heart holds the key" and we know the Witness wants to link the Traveler with it, so could this be evidence that the Veil is really a part of the Traveler; a literal heart? Also anybody tell *My name is Byf* if he hasn't caught it already?
And since the Veil was whisked away, the Witness sought out a solution in the Vex, to see if they could make an imitation of the Veil. The Heart of The Black Garden.

@Golden Yak Rhulk was too busy watching over Savathun, and his corpse would have been inaccessible. You really can't get DNA from a dead body that is in a completely different dimension. It's easier to use Nezarec corpse since it's already at hand and accessible.
I got a theory, hear me out… Nez was on the traveler side and we killed him. Little bit of Lore, Nez fought on behalf of the traveler vs the witness in the collapse. He manage to help the traveler escape, traveler also bestowed the light upon him, he could wield light AND dark. He lives off fear, traveler is scared to die right? That alone is enough fear, fear for total extinction, has GOT to be enough fear for Nez, only thing is! I recall a certain season, we had to russle up artifacts that contain pieces of Nez pirate style. Osiris has them or ate them or whatever. Osiris knows, what Savathun knew… Savathun, in the long run turned out to be the greatest ally. We killed her lol she tried to seal the traveler away to protect it, the witness is going to get it by any means, so sealing it would be a good move… but we killed her lol Traveler knows it’s going to get wiped, so in a desperate attempt, shoots a beam at the witness, why? To attack the witness? To lead him in for a 1v1? What if the witness knows it’s done for, and in the last attempt, revives Nez? Nez was revived by the blast, what if that was the point? Nez defeated the witness once before, he can do it again right? We put the traveler in danger, we stopped the seal, we left it alone and headed for neomuna and ultimately played into the witness’s hand perfectly. What if the witness is doing what the traveler did? Build someone up so powerful, then convert them? We didn’t turn to the witness no, but we turned to darkness for sure. He wields the darkness, he expects us to be defiant… reason he leads us roam free, we’re playing into his hand. Reason Nez had beef with us, saw we had light and dark, he sensed our power, our fear of the unknown, he knew we wanted to be challenged and he thought he can take us at a weaken state…. He got bodied, yet another person on the traveler side denied by us.

She'd make a better disciple choice than Calus, and doing so would have made Beyond Light a lot more interesting,
The Soldiers: Hive goons, Taken goons, and MAYBE Scorn. Still no confirmation on a leader for those goons.
The Morons: Calus. Just Calus. This is his category.
Calus was exactly what he was always meant to be, bait.
"seemingly unkillable"
yeah that aged well. bro got turned into a harp
I could see something similar happening to Atraks-1.
@@zakeeros1663maybe. Although Atraks-1 is an Exo, so Eramis would have to use Deep Stone Crypt Tech to make an Atraks-2 happen I believe.
@@TheRealJohnux likely the discarded clones will evently come back, considering the fight mechanics.
This made me think hard, but I love this idea.
This aged well, it just showed how chaotic the Traveler is, it brings life sure but as we see there's no order to what it does, it makes you understand where the Witnesses people were coming from because they were right about what destruction it brings, intended or not. This is just the first time we see that chaos first hand.
Destiny Villains is where the game truly shines. Cosmic powers beyond our comprehension.
YEEEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!
THEY MENTION THE VEIL AND SAVATHÛN!!!! THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!!
« I suffer from the incompetence of these… new recruits. »
GARDIEN DOWN
Like, the more Nezarec talks about Savathûn, the more I feel like we should have tried letting Immaru revive her for interrogation or negotiations. We could have been much more prepared for the Witness with her knowledge.
I doubt it'd work. She'd be tricking and lying to us the entire time
@@DemonReaper105 True, but we know that she fears the Witness and wants to preserve the Traveler, which is good negotiating leverage.
You got your wish lmao

*Guardian down*
*Another guardian using strand way tf down there*
You can tell he shows some respect to guardians and even a little to savathun
Fun fact nezzy does not have a mouth… right so he talks to you through his power Nightmares so the guardian fears some things
I mean after everything we’ve seen, the vex, the hive gods, the iron lord corpses being deformed and used by siva, losing our light during the red war, loosing Cayde, the nightmares on the moon. Im surprised our guardians haven’t died of fright yet or had a mental breakdown.
Imagine the design of Rhulk and then with the voice of Nezarec, best raid boss possible
hottest***
Thank you for this! Love this guy. I like Rhulk a bit more than Nezarec though. Who do y'all prefer in terms of lore/personality/game mechanics.
@@kfclover811 i think it suits nezarec. Hes a glutton for pain, growing fat from it.
Rhulk is daddy but Bhulk is a bro. I respect both now. (I prefer Bhulk's entrance
Nezarec’s sin was my first exotic. Recently I found out about Bungie profile names. So I changed it to Nezarec, Final God of Pain. I think that answers the question
1:05 Hey its Taxis, Kell of the IRS I've been seeing them around a lot since crossplay was enabled.
I've bumped into them a couple times
4:39 local god dies to Eliksni child
These Disciples are truly something else, imagine their boss…… 😨
Witness?
This dude is so extra, I love it.
“In your deepest slumber, you will remember me”
Me:Uh…. guardians don’t sleep
I think Guardians can sleep, but it's not needed
Could be talking about when the Guardians are dead and waiting for a revive. Death is a sort of ‘deep slumber’ after all.
Gotta say I wish he had more to say. Rhulk at least had a ton of exposition but he really didn't despite how integral he is to the story.
The only thing Id want to hear is his screams tbh, like this millenia old dark prescence is finally brought to his knees and destroyed. One of the Armor pieces talks about how he felt as he died at savathuns hands and to hear him sound genuinely hurt would be really satisfying imo.
@Baba Frog the raid exotic
this is just a guess. but with osiris having nez’s essence in him id kind of expect for osiris to either go completely rouge, die, or wtv that cult is captures osiris and revives nez through him.
If this voice actor was chosen to do the voice of Slaanesh in 40k, then he be perfect and damn scary.
I hope we get more voice with nezarec like they did with rulk
👀 👀 👀 👀 2:48 "an ECHO that reverberates through ETERNITY" the nine getting involved with nezarec in upcoming episodes?
Imagine we fought Nezarec’s full power (collapse), that would be so fun

His voice and dialogue reminds me of Darth maul from the clone wars, it's just too good
I'm just waitin for a big reveal of a new diciple that we don't know of yet.
I kinda want the Disciples to return post-Final Shape after the Witness is gone, to continue its work and still have consequences of its defeat.
So savathun was the reason for that darkness on those Nezarec body parts and she is the one who sent the veil to Neptune.......interesting
Me hearing Nezerac for the first time: then something snapped, something inside of me....
Can't believe the actor who voiced Nezarec also voices Oz, Fischl's bird from Genshin Impact.
Holding that baby up after killing Nezarec was so legendary!
After a 27-hour content mode completion too, it felt awesome 🤩
Taxis, Kell of the IRS is probably one of the most GOATED names in Destiny
I love how verbose disciples are, bungie nails their dialogue every time
Are we gonna ignore “Taxes, Kell of the IRS”
"taxis, the kell of irs" lmao
Gotta admit not hearing anyone laugh in this game, made me like how terrifying nezerec is
Savathun probably sneak up on Nezarec when his pyramid was struck down by the Traveler
Create an illusion for Witness to think that Traveler is dead, and claim that Nezarec died when pyramid crash landed on the moon
The only thing I didn’t expect of Nezerac was how fat he looked compared to the Tormentors
4:05 Nez gives me Yami Marik vibes from YuGiOh with the way his voice is in this moment
Yooo ong it does
2:36
Coldest line delivered imo really shows how evil he is
I would let Nezarec do such unholy things
0:28 Did he just reference those who love reading lore and PvP mains?!
OP at the end: "Behold, child! a dead body"
Osiris after drinking the Nezaquick 😬😬😬
You dnt know how long ive waited for this
This mf ain’t gone
1:53 so is Nezerec saying the Veil originally belonged to the first Victims of the Witness like what it truely is their secret still or does that mean the Witness's peoples
I guess it depends on whether or not the witness pulled a Rhulk or not. Presumably we'll find out in the coming seasons.
thank you for this!
i love how unhinged he is
I was right before and I’m calling it again, this isn’t the last we hear of Nezarec. I think he’s going to pull a riven and haunt us with his edgy jokes here and there.
That last line hits hard
That fading echo sent it to my soul
Welcome to the final oblivion- there shall be no more of a lifecycle! We will end it and perhaps we will approach death with a gladiator spirit or a calm mind
- Deathbringer note- the Last Edge of Intent
"You were just a red Tormentor in the end Nez, not that cool."
Well actually the tormentors are just clones of Nezarec.
Should've cloned Rhulk.
@Golden Yak Rhulk was too busy watching over Savathun, and his corpse would have been inaccessible. You really can't get DNA from a dead body that is in a completely different dimension. It's easier to use Nezarec corpse since it's already at hand and accessible.
@@thetraveler2224 And isn't Rhulk in a timeloop curse? I though Bungie did that to canonize the repeated raids?
@Saphira Brightscales I don't think they did that or else they would have to explain the past raids as well.
Such a good voice. I wish we had more
The damn guy made himself tied to a concept and became it. I wonder if he’s going to meet oryx.
Nezarec's dialogue
Taxis, The Kell of the IRS has arrived
“Has anyone suffered from the pieces they took” well we brooded your body parts into a tea and got someone to drink it
"Guardian down" deepest voice line in the raid
This thumb nail makes it look like nezarec has a back scratcher
LOL! "Guardian down"

You have arrived... good😈🔥
Nezarac imo has the best boss dialogue, he looks a little goofy tho
“(laughs ominously)”
“Taxis, The Kell of the IRS”
That laugh dude. Holy shit that laugh.
Bro yapping my ear off like he is on a podcast 😂 (cool video btw)
Nezerecs voice is so good
To my undying shame I have yet to complete a destiny 2 raid the only ones I’ve done on D2 were ones from D1
1:06, tell taxis he’s all set, he should accept his fate
The psycho laugh haha LOVE IT
He seems like a cool dude
