If you suffer from severe RA like I do stinging doesn't sting. True. Been using nettle now for the past 18 months and it works like a dream.
I remember my mom telling me how they used to cook them when they couldn't get veg in the war. I will try this nettles grow 6ft tall around me,never a shortage that's for sure.
So awesome. I grow alot of this herb and I have a large bunch hanging to dry right now. 👍😁
THANK YOU!❤ I use daily, good to know my senior Beagle can now have also!!❤
I drink stinging nettle, home harvested and hung to dry and crumbled to use as tea.
I am going to dry some for sure.
It can also clean the blood, even cleaning any cancer tumours out before letting it take hold.
Yes I can believe it. Its cured my severe RA almost pain free
Thank you.
I regularly use stinging nettles ( in extract form) for myself and my allergies. Never knew I could use it for my dogs as well! Great to know! Appreciate all your helpful information especially the guidelines for dosing. Thank you!
I buy the herb in bulk and make it strong tea out of it, I keep it in glass jars in the fridge. Has worked wonders for my boxer with environmental allergies. 2 tablespoons of the steeped herb in her breakfast and again at night along with several tablespoons of the liquid. Don’t even bother with the teachers, get the freeze dried or dried herb in bulk, organic. I buy the 1 pound bag. No more itching, no more red eyes, no more gunky ears, it’s been unbelievably amazing
I get the best natural remedies for my animals on this channel…..even for myself💕
Love bears all things believes all things hope all things endures all things praise God praying for everyone everyday God bless you All
I was in an herb shop yesterday and bought some stinging nettle just for my dog’s allergies. Thank you
Dr Jones I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate your advice, information and this channel. Thank you! ✨️
I have always found stinging nettle within/around blackberry/raspberry plants. I planted several tame blackberries a few years back, within the next year, stinging nettle was growing among them.
Wow.
I also will give it to my Shih Tzu when she is being stubborn for a day or two to eat as it gives her hunger. 1/4 tsp for her 10 lbs.
Another video loaded with great information. Thank you so much for these! 💚🙏

I was going to say when I first clicked on this video - that’s not Nettle 😂 I have a great book called Midwest Medicinal Plants and one of the plants is stinging nettle. I had no idea it would be helpful to pets!! I’m going to look for this tea and supplement my cats diet. Just posted a long comment on your 7/5 video about my cats severe bladder blockage. I hope the nettle helps him 😢
Fresh dried nettle standard dose - 1 tsp per 20 pounds of bodyweight (mixed into food) 1 - 2xs daily

Thank you so much Dr. Andrew , so many great health info for pets and people 🙏
1 tea bag, 1 cup water: sit for 15 minutes. Standard dose- 1/4 of tea per 20 pounds bodyweight given 2xs daily
He said a 1/4 cup twice daily per 20 lbs.
Yes thank you , awesome advice on Nettles
Wow thank you so much. This is awesome information Dr. Jones.
Great info-i have some in my stash, but didn't know what it was good for!!
TWO important stinging nettle issues you excluded.
First Vitamin K is ESSENTIAL for the clotting of open wounds, working with platelets to try to stem hemorghaging!
Second, I grew up on a farm in Louisiana, where nettle grew wild. DEFINITELY WILL sting the poop out of you, UNLESS you do a surprisingly simple and effective thing EACH TIME YOU HANDLE the green plant: HOLD YOUR BREATH!!!
YES, works everytime for an unknown reason.
I'm 68 and haven't been stung since I was a child.
Good for humans too!
I love nettle tea but never knew I could give nettle to my dogs. Thank you so much for this tip🥰!!
Never underestimate the power of the 'weeds' nettle, dandelion, milk thistle just to name a few.
Would you suggest picking your own, or buying from a health shop.I live in the UK.
Appreciate Toola's Pride kerchief😎
I drink nettle tea my self and I will add it to my dogs food also. I have a chow mix who suffers from seasonal allergies.
I bought stinging nettle seeds online, will try growing it soon.
Where did you buy your seeds? I’ve plucked it from my yard in the past (stinging my hand but not knowing at the time what it was). I had one stem of it this spring which i was saving but my husband “accidentally “ 😒 hit it with the weed eater
I commented somewhere else & can't find it now. Glad I c/p I figured to lost under your latest video would have greater chance of being seen by you....
Hi Dr.. Jones I love your channel
I came across it while I was looking up a subject that I've been dealing with when it comes to my cat. He is 11 years old his name is "Trouble". I've had many cats over the years & I've got them asa they've weened from their moms. So 8 weeks. I bring them home I bathe them and cut their nails so they are use to it. My cats have alway's been indoor cats. Well Trouble I rescued from a terrible situation. I was told he was 8 weeks & I knew there was NO way he was 8 weeks. I said he is easy16 weeks. So he is the most loving & friendly boy providing you don't touch his belly or his paws ! I was unable to clip his nails. Well last June 2022 I noticed him limping & putting no weight on his front paw. I didn't know what had happened. .Did he dislocate something ?. Break something ? I was terrified. I rushed him 3 hours away to the vet (Vets on my city are RIP off ARTISTS). and found out he had an impacted claw it had grown into his pad. Like I said nobody can touch his paws. So my vet took care of it & a few hundred $'s later & a few hours later I was on my way back home with antibiotics & pain meds. (Watching your channel 2day was a lesson learned about CBD & SILVER) For pain & infectio ) . Well In November 2022 same thing. I rushed back to vet this time I knew what it was. Turned out though that it was 1 claw on one paw (always the front) & 2 claws just starting on other.
This never happened before last June. So 2 times & yesterday Trouble again on his front paw I noticed he will not put it down. I cannot afford this every 6 months. I will pay if I have to obviously. I love my baby. I saw some UA-cam videos on impacted claws do it at home. But even though they were a little grumpy when the claw itself was lipped you can touch their paws. Beung done at home is what I need. His claw to be unembedded. But I need you go tell me a safe way to do this, what I would need & or you telling me to take him in. If I can do it here & you can please help .me help my beautiful boy ?
There has to be a way I do5nt have to put out hundreds of $'s every 6ish months and know a natural way I could calm him maybe or a safe way to wrap him for protection. I'd be forever grateful if ur able 2 tell me how to go about this. That claw has to come out & I give my word of honor & promised I will cut his nails regardless of how much he fights me every10-12 weeks as needed ! I cannot keep going through this. Nor can my baby.
As is I've never drove so I can't get a ride until Tuesday. If you gbtm with advice maybe I won't have to go..I patiently await. Trouble send cat love
Been brewing nettle tea for my Goldens for a while now since my 3yr old has really bad allergies
Dr. Jones, my little 19 pound dog has high liver enzymes and pancreatitis, she is 10 years old, in the past all of your suggestions have been very helpful. Can you tell me if I can give my dog chamomile tea, given her illnesses?
I have been using both your Quercitin, & nettle! My dog is just crazy itching all day & night I am trying everything! I mean change of diet, giving real supplement like vimergy zinc ,spiralina, & cut cumin with turmeric. Giving her chlohexedine special bath for yeast she’s STILL STRUGGLING! I don’t know what to do. I’m not even seeing an improvement started treating 3 weeks ago
UTI ALSO IS CORN SILK INT HE CAPSULE FROM BUT FOR PEOPLE AND DOGS ONLY

@@alexisandbillclerico15 YES IT IS CALLED FOR HUMANS IT IS CORN SILK TEA IT IS ON YOU TUBE FOR PEOPLE AND ALSO HUMANS CAN DO THE CORN SILK CAPSLUE ALSO BUT FOR DOGS IS THE ONLY ANIMAL THAT CAN DO THIS ALSO.. FOR THEIR UT... AND ANY THING INFECTING IT OR PROBLEMS..
@@eugenebennett5800
Cornsilk isn't just for dogs,
Cats can have cornsilk tincture for urinary issues. 😉
@@feedwinnie THAT IS WHAT I SAID FOR PEOPLE TOO AS IN CORN SILK TEA.... THAT IS THE BEST WAY FOR IT IS SALF TO DRINK WOW.... THE EYE DROPPER STUFF IS FOR THINGS WE CAN NOT DRINK ... WOW....
Very interesting.. I live in the woods in a cabin; mow a large portion around the perimeter, but there still tends to be a lot of stinging nettle spring up in the yard.. Seems worse this year after all of the rain we have had.. Not fun when it brushes your toes while in sandals.. Also had just a small sprig growing by my garden bed, felt like fire ants got me when I accidentally brushed my hand against it.. But on a brighter note also have some more pleasant natives growing about; yarrow, english plantain, mullien, even echinacea.. Been threatening to make some kind of salve or something or another out of them, never get around to doing it.. Will add the stinging nettle to the growing list of 'ideas'.. lol..
If you masticate a leaf of your plantain and then press it to the nettle stings or insect bites it draws out the irritant. It'll also draw dirt out of cuts. If it's long narrow leafed version you can take another leaf of the plantain and use it as a plaster by tying it into place. You should definitely make salves and teas from Nature's medicine!
Thank you, I will try that for sure!
We have been very dry this year. Nettle is scarce. But still available
Doc look up Burdock root and Essiac tea!!
1 tea bag to 1 cup water: steep/sit for 15 minutes. Standard dose is 1/4 c per 2o pounds bodyweight. Given 2xs daily
Any thoughts about nettle for onychodystrophy? I've been resisting use of steroids for my greyhound and ran across this video. Thank you for what you do!
Please show the bottles!! Damn
Thank you Dr Jones! I just ordered a bag online. My furbaby girl is miserable with the itchy, I’m using most of the things you recommended in previous videos, the shampoos, the herbs, etc, but she is ok for a couple of days then she starts again. I hope the nettle leaves will help her.
The nettle pills are the easiest but the tea is nice too
Please try cold pressed Evening Primrose oil, I started it for my 8 year old Jack Russell fur baby and after 8 weeks her atopic dermatitis vanished, I then started on my youngest male fur baby same problem itchy skin, red sore pads on his paws, most of the time he was also so uncomfortable, after 3 days everything stopped and healed
@@jacquisamsung2619wow really! Do you give him every day year round or only allergy season
@@DdShevanii everyday I have two itchy Jack Russell's and we currently are working in Uganda the climate Is always hot and humid - so it's always 'itchy little bodies - good luck
@@DdShevanii sorry I forgot to mention as it takes some dogs time to work, it's better to give it everyday instead of waiting for it to build up it's potency in the body
ALSO FOR PROSTATE ALSO
My nan always made nettle wine and used to add dry nettle powder to our food when we visited. I used to think she was crazy or doing some kind of witch craft 🤣
I wonder if getting the nettle tea bags & opening them up & measuring it out that way would work..as the nettles are already dried out ..🤔
They don’t sell Nettie tea in Quebec. Where I live
Find out it grows wild, there's always Amazon
I bought the dry nettle tea and I’ve been giving her a teaspoon in the morning and a teaspoon at night time. I think my dog had some kind of infection I’m not sure I took her to the vet, but he didn’t explain anything. I have found that since I’ve been given her this nettle tea, that the redness in her chest and belly and under arms have been going away. Is this something that you can continually give your dog? She wouldn’t drink the tea.
What would be dosing of a liquid extract?
Does all of this information only apply to stinging nettle or does it apply to other types of nettle, as well, such as purple dead nettle?
Too much Weed killer being Sprayed everywhere, I can't walk more than a KM without seeing wild nettles, and my back garden has Nettles taller than me on one side,
This was great. I take organic nettle in my smoothie every day for my arthritis. I had no idea it was good for our pups. Thank you for posting!
Any ideas on administering it? Even the smalest amount of thee in their foid makes them stop eating it. I do not dare to try the leaves ..
PS: Tula is looking quite fetching in her colorful neckerchief. ❤
Nettle can be used in gardening for eliminating all kind of lice on plants.
Thank you. I did not know that
Can we give this daily with no breaks ?
I have taken my 1.5 yr old dwarf kitty to the vet three twice because of urinary issue. She now has blood in the urine again can I still give this to her?
How about a red, white, and blue bandana???
Will this increase dog urination at all?
How much do you give a 3 pd chihuahua
In a dog’s water?
Will they drink it? It’s pretty expensive.
HI CAN WE GIVE THIS FROM A CAPSULE... IN THE FOOD....

My dog is suffering from an asthma attack, he can't lie down because it blocks his breathing, he is wheezing badly and keep moving around, it's an emergency and all veterinary clinics are closed, what should I do?!

Can you just give it to your dog every day or just for a certain amount of days and stop? And then maybe somewhere down the line a month or so can you start giving it to them again?
Hi there :) better to give it continuously
@@VeterinarySecrets thank you very much
When i was kid and didn't come home for dinner, was playing with kids till dark,my granny was waiting for me near yard gate with bunch of nettle in her hand to beat my a...ss😅
😂
Is it ok to give 85 lb lab apple cider vinegar pills, she has smelly urine and I tried to give her apple cider vinegar and she didn't like it
I put cider vinegar in my dog's dinner for her arthritis.. collie, but just a teaspoon..mixing with something strong flavored like sardine might help.. I have also mixed honey with it in the food.. I take cider vinegar with a spoon of honey in warm water first thing in the morning since a crash years ago to avoid arthritis.. it also fixes acid tummy and bowel, and has cured leg cramps at night for one if my neighbors.
No sound 😢
Steep nettle into bone broth...no picky eater anymore!
Good suggestion
I have a question?????
Took my Yorkie to the vet , they said she has a blocked anal gland, it looks horrible! They put her on some meds , and said she will have to have surgery.
My question is , can I do anything to help it ?? Or is this really necessary to have surgery to remove it ??
Please help !!!
Thank you!!❤❤❤❤
Blocked, or has it ruptured? If only blocked, I would ask if they can express the gland and/or possibly use warm baths to open it up. Adding fiber to the diet helps. If she was prescribed meds, I assume they are antibiotics and I suspect the gland is infected. Regardless, discuss the surgery with them. Are they wanting to remove the anal sac? Long-term complications may include fecal incontinence, fistula formation, and stricture formation (abnormal narrowing.) I would try nonsurgical solutions unless absolutely necessary, and the vet would have to explain why a surgical treatment is necessary.
@@deneen8120 they are saying it’s blocked & infected. They do have her on antibiotics & steroids . This is all new to me , never had a animal to do this . Any help would be appreciated! Thank you 😊
