A suggestion, as an Indian I would suggest soaking for minimum 6-8 hours, the taste goes to another level and you get the entire nutrition with easy digestion
Being from land of lentils and spices i.e India Where lengils are eaten daily , a suggestion is there for u which we follow according to ayurveda that small lentils like red or black should be soaked in water for 4-6 hrs and large hard ones like chickpeas grams or kidney beans should be soaked atleast for 12 hrs which helps it in precooking which aids in better absorption of nutrients and easier digestion.. i hope u like my suggestion And obviously m big fan of yours
I love lentils I made a bolognese style lentil pasta , I sautéed some veggies garlic online tomato’s carrots celery honestly anything you have on hand and I always blend it then I put lentils in and in the end I put cream cheese and butter it was so good . For some reason the lentils was still kind of hard even after cooking for 40 plus minutes I think I didn’t add enough water so next time I will soak the lentils like what everyone has said 6-8. Hours , and I will boil them separately whatever I have left I will freeze them for other recipes and then I will add them to my homemade pasta sauce . I also Air fried chick peas and added them in the end for more texture . Next time I will add blended up walnuts to the sauce too go give it even more of a meaty texture!
In Turkey, the most common soup is red lentil soup. You can search for it and make that when you overcook your lentils. It’s very delicious and simple, just an idea for you.
Hi there, I am from SoCal and have a bay leaves plant… it was not expensive and easy to care for. You will be saving money on the long run and use fresh leaves 😊

I love lentils. But never had them in a salad. Sounds yummy. Thanks for these ideas.
You're welcome!! Our pleasure 🥰
In salads, lentils are divine. A lentil salad is more of a meal than a salad, actually.
Thanks to all the Indians with the extra tips , you guys have great vibrant culture and food
