Yes. The Perennial live at Wacken is always my second song to suggest. It’s the perfect answer to the questions , “is this real or an effect in post?” “Can’t she do it live?”
So Vlad (the drummer) started out as a classical pianist so I think that's the origin of his split stick technique because of course piano players rarely cross their hands when playing. His current kit has two floor toms, one on the left side of his hihat and a rack tom in the place of a floor tom next to the kick. An auxiliary snare between the rack tom and the floor tom on his right that is 12" in diameter. K Zildjian cymbals. There are several really good drum playthroughs from him on UA-cam. The best one being for their song Mediator. You've already gotten some good suggestions but from a drummers perspective I would definitely second the suggestion about Perennial Live at Wacken Open Air. Also Home Back, Wallflower, Vortex, On the Top Live in Kyiv and Pit of Consciousness Live in Kyiv and Judgement and Punishment One Take Vocal. Jinjer is from Ukriane. They grew up during the transition from the USSR to Ukrainian independence and so they've been through a lot. This song is about Tatiana's nature as someone born as a Pisces.
Vlad (the drummer) is in fact right handed. It's live, she does switch that quick, she does sing that clean and scary. They are "different" and next level. You want to hear bass, Do Jinjer, Who is gonna be the one, Live

There is a vocal backing track in parts. This was technically a re-recording session to showcase the drummer. Pisces the song itself is still considered an "unfinished" song by the band even though it was on an album release. The band has stated in interviews and such that they have never really been happy with the song and they regret that it was the song that basically introduced them to an international audience. This song has been rewritten and re-recorded multiple times and the version that exists now started with a completely different ending when it was recorded for the album and was changed last minute during the recording process. Eugene wrote the lyrics at the end of this version, and is the original writer of the song itself (started with the bass line)

A few presumptions about the drummer to clear up. He is not left handed. He just plays ambidextrously. The reason everything is low is he is a converted classical pianist and it felt more natural to him.
If you are doubting Tatiana's vocal abilities, Judgement & Punishment one take vocal is a must see. You get growl metal, clean metal and a surprise third style you are not expecting.

Heh…as a musician who appreciates good musicianship. Jinjer is a gold mine. Everyone in this band is truly gifted. Since you’re a drummer, this drummers name is Vlad. Also, I’m pretty sure he’s not left handed. Fun fact, he was a classical pianist who one day said, “this is cool and all, but I really just want to hit things.” Ok, I made that up. But he is a pianist…or was…no idea if he still plays. But I think that’s were the lower kit and the open playing style come from.
The vocal doubles and layers were added after the performance. And yes, she does that death growl live. She switches pretty smoothly in concert, too. She's a superb live performer. No woman I've heard so far has that deep of a growl. Her stage presence is awesome.
check out "outlander" young days of Jinjer, or "teacher teacher" or actually anything from them to be honest. "Sit Stay Roll Over" is one of my favorites.
She did complete live. I see this Band 5 times meanwhile and it stunned me every time. I recommend the next should be the last song of the Live Set from Wacken Open Air from 2019. Tatiana is a absolute vocal beast.
You might be the fastest to recognize the time signatures. And your all around musical fluency is appreciated. As others have said theres a lot of post production on this. Perennial is a great followup to hear them do their thing on stage (though there's one bit where they added some light clean layering to that which isn't in the bootlegs.
Orbit culture, a band you need to check out. Insanely good Orbit culture songs: Saw Strangler Open Eye Nensha Rebirth North star of Nijah (Live in studio)
*Never gets old to see first time reactors to Jinjer. LOL* (So many thought she's not really doing it...till they reacted to Jinjer live concert performances. There is no doubt)
The false-fold scream doesn't use the vocal chords we speak and sing with; it's the folds that make noise when we clear our throats. Tatiana has absolutely mastered the false-fold scream, which is why she can flip back and forth so quickly. Also, the drummer was a concert pianist, and learned how to play the drums specifically for Jinjer. I'm supposing he keeps his drums lower because it's more efficient. You'll notice his elbow rise during the cymbal crashes, so it might help to raise the cymbals a tad, but that's just me guessing.
Oh it is all her. Her name is Tatiana. They is overdubs working here. They got to this studio early so she laid some supplemental vocal tracks down. You'll here it on the second chorus.
So this is sort-of-live. It's a live studio session, meaning there are multiple takes, full studio production and effects, layered vocals, instrumental parts that aren't actually shown in the room (like the organ-like sound in the verses)... but everything you _see_ on screen is really also being heard, and the whole band really is playing through it live, just multiple times.

Jinjer? Who is Jinjer? Immediately bought all the albums. I can't get enough now. Looking forward to Toronto visit #3.
This video was made to showcase Vlad's playing when he was new in the band. Apart from the songs recommended below, you would like Vortex, that has very cool drum playing, and Home Back that was written after the first Russian invasion of Ukraine 2014
Welcome to Jinjer. That's all her. Perennial live at Wacken shows her talent well. If you just want to see the drummer try Under the Dome drum playthrough.
It was the label's decision to title this "live studio session" but mix in some of Tatiana's vocals from the original album stems in places for thickness. Very naughty, yes, & I'm not condoning it.... but good grief, did this blow up for them! -It's in 7.... then 6.... then 4(ish?!) for the chunky chorus.... then back to 6.... etc etc!- I should've known you'd catch this being a drummer! LOL It's their composition skills which caught my ear, initially despite the harsh vocals (you can probably tell from my username what I tend to consider a top-tier vocal over guitar-led music!). Altho it became quickly apparent that Tatiana is 100% *in it* when she's doing her thing live or in the studio, & if the integrity is there in the music, I'll go with it! Vlad the drummer is a classically trained pianist to trade, & created ~90% of the music for their last "Wallflowers" album (he can play metal guitar too, & I've seen footage of him being quite convincing on an upright bass). I reckon he's one of those high-IQ, thus easily-bored, kinda dudes.... hence some of the complexity in his writing. Wait til you hear some of the crazy split-timings-with-heavy-syncopation. And the songs where they go fully thru-composed.... o_O actually speaking of that, please record a reaction vid for their thru-composed single "Vortex", then (just for your own info) check out the bass playthrough vid Eugene uploaded for it. It's a 5-string drop-A #MasterClass of how to have a deeply musical bassist make a single-guitarist heavy band sound HUGE.... all the technique, yet always in service to the piece. It's just SO good. the OMV: ua-cam.com/video/AiaOSGZTwtY/v-deo.html Eugene's bass playthrough: ua-cam.com/video/iBdZI_u3zP0/v-deo.html If you're not impressed, I'll give you your money back myself!! ;)
The live session was to show case Jinjer's new drummer. In the description below that video they say what was added, it's a totally different version. For instance in this one she sings in her high voice Searching For a Hook to Catch on and See Their Sun Beam, in the album version she uses her harsh vocals. Jinjer has said there are multiple versions of the song.
Obviously the big shock moment is what everyone wants to see the reaction to. I, however, was really looking forward to your impression of the bands musicality and somg writing. That gets missed by a lot of people because of Tatiana's talent. Great reaction my friend.
Best description of this song is she lulls you in with her beauty and then pulls you under with her growls. She’s like a siren or a mermaid with this banger 🤘
I think what blows me back the most about her growls is how relatively easy it is to pick up on what she is growling. In a lot of European death metal, especially in Swedish death metal like Dark Tranquility, Hypocrisy and especially Opeth the growls are produced in a way that give a quite clean sound. Tatiana from Jinjer has the same quality.
I love the fact that we heard the bass so well and the drummer dont double kick to infinity. Very restrain on the kick drum that open space to all the other element!
Jinjer is composed of 3 fantastic Musicians and one of the most amazing singers I've ever heard. They are originally from the Donbas region of Ukraine. You, of course, need to see her live. The next usual step is the song Perennial performed at the Wacken Open Air festival. They tend to use quite a bit of multiple-time signatures in their music. Another must-do song is Home Back, about their homeland.
Thanks to the almighty algorithm, I ended up here - bang, instant sub. EVERY REACTOR EVER reacts to Jinjer, Nightwish etc. But rarely do you find one who's a musician himself and gives insightful commentary like this. Being a really likeable dude is a big plus, too.
I've seen them a couple times. They're amazing. All that weird timing stuff is just as precise live. I love your reaction too. She had that affect on me too
I have seen so many reactions to that song and you finally picked up on the 7/4 meter and the meter changes. Been waiting for somebody to mention that for years.
Jinjer is an incredibly talented ensemble. This isn't ranked among their best songs, but it is an excellent introduction. Take the recommendations for more sings to review. You won't be disappointed.
Dave McLain, formerly of Machine Head has the same thing with his drum setup. The toms are on almost the same level as his snare. Watching him play is different because his arms are all over the place, but his body stays mostly stoic. Fantastic drummer.
i am not a drummer and i dont know that much about it but the drums stand out to me here perfectly and they are my main focus(my main focus in terms of instruments is usually guitar) so its nice to hear an actual drummer pointing it out

If you truly want to see some of her most crazy and instant transitions check out - JINJER - Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019) | Napalm Records It's just nuts.
Smooth guitars like light shimmering on water and then...... PIRANHA! Yeah, mate! This NEVER gets old! They're from Ukraine. Another band from Ukraine is named Ignea - also female fronted and VERY worth a listen. Vlad, here on drums, is a pianist who switched to drums and this video was to display his mad skills! Tatiana, the vocalist, really is a Pisces. The lyrics and contrasting sound of this song fitted my late partner, also a Pisces and bipolar, to a T! Scale armour and virgin innocence! (and the voices!) Tatiana was a teacher before music hooked her (pun intended, not sorry) - imagine being the class clown? (not for long!) suggest their song "Teacher, Teacher".
It's all fun and games and then Satan's voice kicks in. Truly Impressive band and the Singer honestly amazes with her dual attack vocals. Then there is the odd beat landscape drums, guitar and bass work. Outstanding.
This Song is a perfect example for a Band saying: Yeah, we could turn it to eleven, but we're showing what we are capleble of by holding back. Also suggestion by me: Blind Guardian - The Bard Song ( & Valhalla; live @ Wacken)

That’s incredible. Such talent.
The vocal doubles and layers were added after the performance. And yes, she does that death growl live. She switches pretty smoothly in concert, too. She's a superb live performer. No woman I've heard so far has that deep of a growl. Her stage presence is awesome.
On it.
check out "outlander" young days of Jinjer, or "teacher teacher" or actually anything from them to be honest. "Sit Stay Roll Over" is one of my favorites.
Will do!
She did complete live. I see this Band 5 times meanwhile and it stunned me every time. I recommend the next should be the last song of the Live Set from Wacken Open Air from 2019. Tatiana is a absolute vocal beast.
Very cool.
You might be the fastest to recognize the time signatures. And your all around musical fluency is appreciated. As others have said theres a lot of post production on this. Perennial is a great followup to hear them do their thing on stage (though there's one bit where they added some light clean layering to that which isn't in the bootlegs.
Cool! Looking forward to more.
ah, it was fun to watch you settle in there and let your guard down for a minute. This Band, is amazing.
They’re pretty good!
Orbit culture, a band you need to check out. Insanely good Orbit culture songs:
Saw
Strangler
Open Eye
Nensha
Rebirth
North star of Nijah (Live in studio)
Let's do it.
Perennial live will blow your mind. Tatiana is a vocal goddess.
On it
*Never gets old to see first time reactors to Jinjer. LOL* (So many thought she's not really doing it...till they reacted to Jinjer live concert performances. There is no doubt)
On it.
@@teckreactions Start with Perennial
The false-fold scream doesn't use the vocal chords we speak and sing with; it's the folds that make noise when we clear our throats. Tatiana has absolutely mastered the false-fold scream, which is why she can flip back and forth so quickly. Also, the drummer was a concert pianist, and learned how to play the drums specifically for Jinjer. I'm supposing he keeps his drums lower because it's more efficient. You'll notice his elbow rise during the cymbal crashes, so it might help to raise the cymbals a tad, but that's just me guessing.
Oh interesting.
YES! Welcome to Jinjer!
Thanks!
I love her live in front of an audience.. she is incredible. The entire band is so talented. Great reaction.
Aside from the faith & worship angle - I knew I'd be fan of yours once you expressed admiration for Rush
Nice to meet you!
hehehehe...I could not wait to see your reaction when they switch it up!!! She is amazing
So good!
I love seeing you guys watch Perennial at Wacken 2018, it's the best fully live showcase of Tatianna and the boys!!
Sweet.
The whole band member is awesome the singer is self-taught using pillows in the house and buy the highway
Cool!
Welcome to your New favorite band!
Ha! We’ll see.
@@teckreactions you can take it as a promise.
Welcome to Jinjer! I really hope you continue with this amazing band, they have a very deep catalog of awesome songs for you to discover!
Thanks!
Oh it is all her. Her name is Tatiana. They is overdubs working here. They got to this studio early so she laid some supplemental vocal tracks down. You'll here it on the second chorus.
Nice!
Jinjer will drive you crazy trying to follow their time signatures. Vlad is a self taught open handed incredible drummer
Nice!
Lol Jinjer is ukrainian proggy djent groove metal with complex time-signature maze, polyrhythms and multi-genre blending. They are one of the most talented 4-pieces ever. Tati is one of the best overall metal vocalists and lyricists in the business.

Jinjer - Live At Wacken 2023
Best list to follow right here. However, you forgot Sit Stay Roll Over. The song that got them signed by Napalm Records.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Without a doubt. Best band on the planet currently. They are even better in person. I've seen them live twice. .
Pretty good!
Saw Jinjer live twice so far, Toronto 2019 & 2023, in small venues. Freaking awesome live!!! I was blown away when I first saw them live 2019. I was going for a fav local band opening for them. Jinjer? Who is Jinjer? Immediately bought all the albums. I can't get enough now. Looking forward to Toronto visit #3.
Nice!
VLAD (Drummer) is a classical pianist 😉, And thanks 4 catching the unique setup lol, its all flat and he says he just likes it🤪Peace
Sweet!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I LOVE Jinger and I was just chuckling when you were saying its just a chill thing,,, waiting for the drop!! LOL Great reaction 😊
Thanks!
This video was made to showcase Vlad's playing when he was new in the band.
Apart from the songs recommended below, you would like Vortex, that has very cool drum playing, and Home Back that was written after the first Russian invasion of Ukraine 2014
That’s cool. He’s great.
Sometimes listening to Jinjer you're mouth can't close.
I agree
Welcome to Jinjer. That's all her. Perennial live at Wacken shows her talent well. If you just want to see the drummer try Under the Dome drum playthrough.
On it.
Yeah that's a particularly sick drum track.
Every Jinjer track is a banger lol
We’ll see!
LOL
It's their composition skills which caught my ear, initially despite the harsh vocals (you can probably tell from my username what I tend to consider a top-tier vocal over guitar-led music!).
It's just SO good.
the OMV: ua-cam.com/video/AiaOSGZTwtY/v-deo.html
Eugene's bass playthrough: ua-cam.com/video/iBdZI_u3zP0/v-deo.html
If you're not impressed, I'll give you your money back myself!! ;)
That’s very interesting. Thanks for the suggestions.
@@teckreactions Honestly, when they go fully thru-composed.... it's some of the best heavy music I've ever heard. Enjoy! :)
It doesn't matter what jinjer song you react to next, they have so many good ones!
Nice
Obviously the big shock moment is what everyone wants to see the reaction to. I, however, was really looking forward to your impression of the bands musicality and somg writing. That gets missed by a lot of people because of Tatiana's talent. Great reaction my friend.
Thanks!
4:02 the shocked face 😂 i love it. I love when unsuspecting people react to jinjer 💜
HAHAHAHA!
Vlad is not left-handed. He just plays that open style that a lot of younger drummers are using.
That's cool.
Man I love how u actually break down the music. I love the break downs and pointing out the time signatures . You'll definitely get a sub from me
I appreciate that!
Came here for the jaw drop
Was not disappointed
🤣
Best description of this song is she lulls you in with her beauty and then pulls you under with her growls. She’s like a siren or a mermaid with this banger 🤘
Good example.
Welcome to the Jinjer reaction club!! 🤘🔥🤘
Check out Their song "I speak astronomy " with original video that's awesome
Will do.
It’s pretty strong
Listen to their "Vortex" - she switches the voices literally in the middle of sentences without breathing
Nice!
I love the fact that we heard the bass so well and the drummer dont double kick to infinity. Very restrain on the kick drum that open space to all the other element!
Her vocals are only bigger and better now. Keep on the jinjer journey
More coming soon!
Another band with a super talented vocalist - Spiritbox. Songs "Rule of nines" and "Blessed be"
That's not the first time I've had Spiritbox suggested. They're quickly moving up the list.
@@teckreactionsThe whole band is amazing, but the way Courtney LaPlante switches between ethereal fey voice and her harsh vocals is astonishing.
Perennial is definitely next.
So awesome to hear some appreciation for the guys and music.
They’re awesome!
Holy cow! Thanks for the kudos! Appreciate you.
I've seen them a couple times. They're amazing. All that weird timing stuff is just as precise live.
I love your reaction too. She had that affect on me too
Cool!
Saw them at Bloodstock 2022 (the set can be found on UA-cam) and I can confirm they are amazing live.
Nice!
The first collision with Tatiana is always a sweet thing to experience - or watch. 😀
Nice
Saying "it's pretty", check
Slack-jawed incomprehension, check
Wellcome to Tatianas army 😀
Haha!
🤣 Your face! Never gets old!
I have no control.
It never gets old to see people reacting to Tatyana :D
Nice
Teacher Teacher!!!! - the best! You should see!
Added
I have seen so many reactions to that song and you finally picked up on the 7/4 meter and the meter changes. Been waiting for somebody to mention that for years.
Glad to be of service.
ok I finally gave in and watched a reaction to this song. I can't believe this growl is coming out of that tiny woman!!!
For real.
Your face and gap in recognition as to wtf was happening was great!
I was not ready.
Oh man...another person finds Jinjer for the first time and needs to see her at Wacken doing Perennial
Did the Perennial song the other day. Check it out.
Jinjer is an incredibly talented ensemble. This isn't ranked among their best songs, but it is an excellent introduction. Take the recommendations for more sings to review. You won't be disappointed.
Looking forward to it!
Dave McLain, formerly of Machine Head has the same thing with his drum setup. The toms are on almost the same level as his snare. Watching him play is different because his arms are all over the place, but his body stays mostly stoic. Fantastic drummer.
i am not a drummer and i dont know that much about it but the drums stand out to me here perfectly and they are my main focus(my main focus in terms of instruments is usually guitar) so its nice to hear an actual drummer pointing it out
Awesome!
This is the song that most people suggest to get introduced to Jinjer. You said that you liked her switch between clean and her growl. If you truly want to see some of her most crazy and instant transitions check out - JINJER - Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019) | Napalm Records
It's just nuts.
That'll be next.
That’s very interesting.
Saw them live last summer, absolutely amazing to see in person. They were opening for Disturbed, but honestly only went for them :)
Cool!
I hope you do more Jinjer reactions! Try Who is Gonna be the one live from atlas that is my favorite Jinjer song or Perennial live at Wacken in 2019
Definitely.
It's all fun and games and then Satan's voice kicks in. Truly Impressive band and the Singer honestly amazes with her dual attack vocals. Then there is the odd beat landscape drums, guitar and bass work. Outstanding.
It's pretty great.
This Song is a perfect example for a Band saying: Yeah, we could turn it to eleven, but we're showing what we are capleble of by holding back.
Also suggestion by me: Blind Guardian - The Bard Song ( & Valhalla; live @ Wacken)
Sweet
Yea I love me some reactor surprise to Jinjer's Pieces, it never gets old.
🤯
This drummer is a madman !!!! Vlad is a beast.
Crazy.
