Absolutely love your presence and charisma. I am so sad i missed out on a little over half of your training session with Klick in Medford due to a sick little baby boy… so here I am soaking it all in via UA-cam ❤
No one brought this up during this presentation, but an objection that comes up frequently with me is the homeowner has invested money into making their house energy efficient, so they got their attic and their garage insulated, they got those thick UV resistant windows, they got hybrid water heater, smart thermostat, energy-saving LEDs for their whole house, etc. so their electric bills comes down pretty significantly and they don't want to make another investment (solar) into something they feel they are already getting. How do you handle an objection like that?
They are saving but they are still at the mercy of the electric company. They are not producing their own electricity and push back on the electric company
Praise their efforts in working towards making their home energy efficient as an excellent start. Even congratulate them on it. Maybe say, most people don’t understand the importance of those changes. So how solar is the missing puzzle piece or key part of actually achieving energy efficiency will make perfect sense to you. Let’s do this, when can we sit down so I can explain how this works. There’s no commitment, it’s a matter of being informed so you know if it’s it something that makes sense for you or not, and if it’ll represent significant enough savings or not.
"Stop checking facebook and start facing your check book" while this dude responded to every comment but this one. I notice he didn't say whether he was harassing co workers or campers but the fact that wasn't clarified but definitely mentioned is screaming for this guy to get raided for c.p.
what about if the client says I need to read the entire contract before I sign? Am I supposed to wait for hours while they study it? I need to close NOW!!!
Offer to walk them through the form. Tell them you will have copies sent directly to their email. let them know you need to qualify them and really hit them with a pullback. Let them know it's not for everyone, you would have to pass a soft credit check. Nothing goes on the credit report until after panels are up on the roof. The word 'contract' is a bad word in solar people are so used to getting told "no this needs to get done today", so you have to encourage them by saying something like " I totally understand your concern do you read the whole privacy policy before you download an app?" Make a joke like this, but also let them know about the cancellation period. I absolutely agree, you should review the contract on your free time (they won’t). What they will do is call their friend/family member with solar and see what they think. Just let them know you have up until install to cancel nothing locked in, this is just to get the process moving forward. Another thing is this post has commission breath written all over it. Remember this mantra "some do some don't" repeat it to yourself and move on to the next house if need be.
That’s my absolute favorite, next to the internet not working and they don’t get the contract until the next day, when you aren’t there to walk them through it. Then 👻 🦗🦗
Oh, we have to go through it now- it's super easy (because you are not selling leases or PPA 's right? Because that's not good for almost anyone that has any tax appetite) and so we will just go over the few pages that cover the deliverables - your system, and that it is being installed it won't say that it takes a day or two, but that's the reality - and the other paperwork where we will review the monthly money, and the term, and the rate - which is super low (because you "sales rep" were not foolish enough to tell people to take high interest loans because there was no or a little dealer fee) - so yeah, let's get this approval done, and generate it all like I showed you before so we can acknowledge the few points as we go through each section - oh, and it won't take long because there's very few lines or sections that are custom to you - the rest is the same for every one of the hundreds of thousands of homeowners - what they call boiler plate - I've covered most of it already, but if anything is not clear, we can just review it real quick. Ok, so I need the last four...
@@stonecoldtrappersomething I learned from Taylor McCarthy is “I agree they look ugly. But people aren’t going solar because they look cool, they go solar because they like the way their bank account looks from all the money they save by going solar” or another one that I use personally too is “oh I agree you’re talking about those old ugly solar panels that I saw coming in to your neighborhood that look old and straight out of a Star Wars movie with the conduit all over the roof and looks like their plumber hates them right?” Then go into how the look has changed.
@@stonecoldtrapper that's because you are talking about the wrong thing - and solar panels are only "ugly" if "reps" and "solar pros" that "make deals" sell people low grade panels that are all ugly. And only if the roof is visible. There are great ways to talk about this and much funnier lines about not wanting them on the front, etc - but that's why you have your EPC, Sales Org, Solar Company add real, constant, live zoom roll playing to your "redline" or as a permanent adder on your account. Then you can get the latest and greatest every week. Just have them add me as a resource for your team. Everyone wants to become a solar teacher now with 10k in fees . Can’t believe where this is heading now online with social media . Not for the love of the career for the real solar workers all for money now.
10k to learn what i learned from going on 17 years of living city to city selling door to door is a steal. I’ll trade back my time for money any day 👍🏻
Thats what is funny.. they all tell us how many tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of dollars can be made as a solar sales rep but then they want to just take a few thousand for each one of us to help support their habits and Lifestyle by teaching us something that they claim to know so well, but yet they don't do it themselves as a claim how much money can be made seems a little ridiculous doesn't it
Clueless on PACE. 100% nonsense. You should know some of these things to say if you mess up. But there are better replies and tactics for almost every single one. This is 16 years old, nothing new, nothing great, run of the mill. A lot of things that people shouldn't be saying not just for PC reasons- just professionalism. I used to call this an Objection Shredder Drill - but it was to teach people what not to do - somehow over time that part got dropped from the lesson - this is where you spend your time if you haven't learned how to really talk about Solar Power. "Handling objections" is what you do if you don't master how to talk about Solar Power. "You can use a lot more power than you were but you will save money???" Sounds wrong to me. Maybe I missed something. "10 year warranty on roof work???" Wow. Sad. I just give this a zero. Fast talking about 16 year old stuff, and totally missing the point from start to finish. I know - what do I know... Nothing at all. No really. I'm just pretending.... I swear - this must be lifted from my old recordings from 2010- 2011 - "what color are your shingles??? People don't know what color their roof is...." "Telling people the utility company WANTS you to? That's why the meter goes both ways? Taxing you? Utility is the government?" zoinks! Man, this is some crazy stuff!
@@dannypessy you already hear them, man! it's just that they're like 16 years old, and missing lots of parts and pieces. They've been broken telephoned to death. But mostly, they all are based on outdated information that died like 11 years ago or so. Solar Power training is something to do privately- in groups- not in "keynotes" at events or on UA-cam. It doesn't come in "nuggets" or "fire." It is a learning process that needs daily, weekly reinforcement of one single presentation, one way (with situational deviations of course). And constant updates. It takes a lot of effort to put it together, and then impart it to salespeople. "Objection handlers" are not sales training. Mind-set is not solar power training. And 18 years is waaaaaay too long for the supposed right way of doing things to take to get to 5% of eligible homes adopting something - that everyone in the "industry" feels is a no-brainer - and so many feel compelled to say is "free." That's not progress. That's proof that there MUST be a better way.
