Nobody understands how deals are set. He was setting appointments which can be as quick as 10-15 minutes, and had the appointments set for his closers to go back and actually close the deal. 22 in a day is absolutely insane but it isn’t impossible.
GTFR.
It's a fluke
I NEVER NEVER NEVER comment on videos. But I had to stop this at 17min to say I have the ultimate respect for this man. He said something that NO ONE SAYS OR DOES. “I believe in abundance this is all my good stuff” I have gotten more from the first 17min of this man than any other video I’ve seen. At this point people like him would be peddling the “secret” course they’re swearing by. Many thanks!!
Love that ur loving this
Ashton is possibly the best person in all of solar
The MOMENT that I saw this comment the video was at 17minutes exactly haha 😁👊
@@D2DExperts His numbers are literally beyond what I thought was possible.... Changed my whole perspective on what is possible, and inspired me to push the limits for what is possible. Thank you for the Gold. 🙏👊👊
@@nickutesch8266 That's awesome! Glad you liked
SCRIPTURES as part of that balance - impressive!👊
I want this guy to train me yesterday...
He worked really hard for a few months, built his pipeline up them boom it happened. Hard work paid off
It's his energy. Man can sell anything because of who he is. Makes me want to buy solar.
Let’s get you some solar than brotha
I’ve been in Solar for 2 weeks now and leading a unit, and finally selling. I absolutely love that you separate days of knocking and then appointments. I’m working on balancing those aspects of knocking and selling in the same day, and it’s just a lot of pressure and confusion and hurrying around. I’m going to try this
Hey bro, how has that been going for you
Any tips on finding leads?
Knocking
Knock doors
Update please
He’s exactly right. I do this for almost 30 years selling roofs. It’s a rough business but it can also be so sweet every time I close. And : you wanna live in a big house, too.
Ashton is the 🐐! Love working for Ashton!
Ashton is the man! He came and spoke at the loan signing system conference in San Diego. The skills are totally transferable in so many markets, professions and just everyday life (parenting for example) thanks for helping me grow my notary business and now it’s time to hit the streets and apply the knowledge. Never burn a door for the next guy! And “coach” your team 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Incredible video. Love how he references referrals the entire time throughout the beginning and end of his close.
yea he crushes referrals
I mentioned referrals atd yesterday ND had a good day set 6 appointments as a team me and my trainee....I'm about to watch this video now if it will load...want to find out how he did it
Thank you both sooo much!! I'm new to sells in general let alone solar and am diving in head first trying learn as much as I can. You guys help me out more then imagineable! I look forward to the next few years and all the growth potential I have!! Keep up what your doing its seriously helpsb
How u been doing so far bro?
This was incredible. And I just feel like as a new production manager in my company I was able to take so much from this so I can protect myself forward and I'd only that just be a better person to my team. Watching these videos have basically shown me a new outlook on leadership and how to approach situations and people better.
Jim Rohn is vital
I really needed to watch this video. Thank you so much for the information. This guy has answered my questions. Lol I was a little nervous about my interview. Thanks to him I am ready. I am determined to work hard and get paid.
This definitely happened for a reason. Randomly doing a podcast while ur in SD. Good shit! Great value!! Very clear cut with interview and interviewer. This is gonna change a lot of life’s!!!!
Thank you
kg🎉
This is an EXTREMELY good interview
Interview today in Houston pretty stoked
They don't wanna buy from you because they aren't sold on you and or they don't trust you. The fear of lost always outweighs the need for gain. They still have uncertainty's. A confused mind always says no. You need to drop there defenses and flush out objections and address them. Building rapport is the sauce along side being seen as a professional with a solid company.
Loved the video guys
You should visit Finland and you would be surprised. Finns are quiet but best sellers in the world. Here in Finland we sell electricity contracts in the streets for comission, because we have many providers for electricity and everybody uses it so its the best product in the world for salespeople!
Hire me to come out!!
All of this and you’re a bishop too!!!! This is incredibly motivating!! Thanks brotha!! Much love from NiU and Aptive Solar 🤙🏽

19:00 is a huge gold nugget
Watching these top performers is so much more inspiring that watching say Tony Robbins as much as a beast he is
thank you for this video!
Here is how the top solar sales people do it.
They have underneath them a small army of canvassers specifically for them individually setting them up, with back to back appointments. With internet and call center provided leads filling in some of the gaps, and finally some referrals filling the rest of the appointments.
That’s how they do it. They aren’t 100 times better than you at the doors. No it’s sheer amount of man power underneath them.
I’m not saying an individual rep won’t make money. If you follow the advice in this video you’ll easily clear 6 digits. I’m simply stating what separates the difference between a 6 digit average skilled rep to the top of the industry 7 digit sales repx
Yep. This guy is not out 7 hours a day knocking anymore. I bet he hasn't knocked in years, and if he does its purely just to close a deal. Probably doesn't even do that, probably pays reps to close them and takes a cut.
Going out knocking today. Thanks for the motiv8tion
Update. Closed my first solar deal today
Heck yea man congrats on the deal!

When he said "knock 7 hours a day" to get better, I thought he was joking but I knew he wasn't joking.
I'm a brand new D2D sales person and I don't start until May 1st.
We sell Smart Home Security and I know that I can only watch so many videos, read so many comments and listen to so many podcasts but nothing replaces experience as being the best teacher.
Love it! Go kill it
quit dude, this is a scam cult, watch the slave circle documentary
Hey Bro… How has the smart home security grind been going?

when to cost is highly subsidized by the government it gets easier to sell units. solar water heating was popular for a time- due to gov. subsidies- and that industry became untrustworthy due to the greed and the poor quality of the products.
Great. Motivating
Thanks
What if client wants to read the 25 year contract before signing?
Idk if this was addressed, but how can you close 22 deals in 1 day. Like how is there that much time? Anyways great work Ashton! You’re an inspiration man
Multiple deals from 1 house probably - friend/family
2 deals an hour for 11 hours
I’m guessing rental properties I did 10 in a day with LGCY and that was how just spoke with the owner
@@andresmazzei6835 how long is the presentation 30 minutes? That's hilarious. With no travel time. No food no nothing. Stop it. It's not possible. Unless you know someone with multiply property's. If thats the case he did one sale and enrolled 22 homes.
@@vincebugattiyou can sell through the phone bro lol
Mega value here.
lol have you ever worked in construction? I’m going from commercial plumbing to solar and it sounds like knocking is light work
Can you sell solar strictly by phone??? I personally do not feel safe knocking on doors also I'm not able to do that much walking at a time
Yes lots doing it
Yes I've been selling 100% virtual for almost 3 years. Last two months closed over 50 deals
@@KT-ml1syhow did you set your self up in that?
Go figure. Hard work is his secret. Go fail as much as possible and get better 1% everyday. You’ll be 365% better in a year. Insane.
The soft background music sounds like my iPhone alarm clock going off the whole interview. Lol. Had to take my AirPods out 2-3 times to see if it was someone’s phone at the gym.
Good interview tho. Loved it.
48 in a week would’ve had to be a new market bc ain’t no way lol
I’m also curious how many of these went to install
How do I get in a local company or better company when they don’t have job offerings. I work for a huge corporate company and they don’t pay per sale well. They pay a residual but it takes a while to build. Only $100 a sale. I need to find a company that’s paying me that money. Because my company screws projects up by their unprofessionalism for hiring just anyone at this point.
Connect with me on insta or fb @thesamtaggart
Me as an aptive rep knocking 10 hours a day 6 days a week
22 in a day. There’s no way he has enough time to set all those people up. I’m not gonna lie but he is a stud tho
I've looked for companies to sell for in DFW, TX. Who is hiring sales reps?
I’ve been working with a reputable company and we have a great team in DFW
Let me know if you still are looking for a great company and great EPC who will take great care of you and your customers
I was involved in solar sales like this for a short time. I say "short time" because the company focus was to sell very small PV systems for inflated prices, like $13/watt. The company used all these scam methods. Payback on PV is many, many years. The problems of waste are not addressed. Efficiency measures pay back in just months and make your home more comfortable, healthier and quieter. It's just easier to slap PV on a roof and wear 5-10 years of life off the roof in the process. Sadly, PV without fixing all the (70-90%) waste is a bit of a scam. You are just getting a discount on all the wasted energy and a worn out roof. But I guess the focus of this is sales and not benefits to homeowners.
That’s insane. Hopefully working for a trash company hasn’t tainted your view on the industry. We’re a locally owned and operated company, using tier 1 panels doing our own installs at $3/watt… 13 is nuts bro
@@kalebcook8405 PV is good, AFTER trimming the fat and cutting the waste. I'd like to find a "good" company to work with. When Tesla says they are installing for $1.50/watt are they using the same calculus as your company? Perhaps we can connect.
$13/watt is fucking insane. The company I work for charges 3.50/watt, but our reps almost always negotiate down and give deals. We make good money but that’s because we’re out knocking like maniacs and closing so many deals.
I think you find more predatory companies in states like Cali, Texas, and Florida since solar is a bit more over saturated there, where I’m at in the Midwest $13 a watt is unheard of.
Just curious how this is possible? Almost every appointment I sit it takes about 1.5 - 2 hours to complete the whole process.
Walk away as soon as you know it’s not a deal, keep appointments to 45 mins max
No company makes money off sales. They make it on install. Signing them is the first part. keeping them and taken them threw the process is the second part also the most important.
Honestly d2d sales will soon be outlawed EVERYWHERE!
Aweome
Run, Rabbit, run!
In pest I knock 7-8 hours a day 6 days a week. It’s tough and it’s a grind but it’s worth it
hows that goin?
@@DrivenByLuckGaming recently switched to solar. Pest is great but solar is awesome.
Yeah I went into roofing d2d.
I tracked all my numbers from a day, to a week, to the month.
I noticed that I was getting 2x as many appointments set after 4pm than I did before.
Then when you apply the law of 80/20, it's makes even more sense.
80 percent of people work 8-4. Knock when you market is home. That's marketing 101.
I could care less about the 20% who are home when it costs more time and money to find those people.
I became the #1 d2d rep out of 80 people in 3 states at that company.
@@gruesomedead fax I appreciate this data, is this in Cali?
@Squeegee King no, Idaho.
I knock 13 hours still I say please god give me 24 hr sunlight. Going out to help people without thinking of making money of them…
Come on Jesus! Got to keep God front and center.
This is now part of ny daily routine
Awesome!
🐐
22 in a day is extremely impressive. 😳 Talk about capitalizing on his time.
it is the best in the business! AMAZING
@@D2DExperts For sure! 💪🏽
It’s impossible bro. It’s work done on prior days sandbagged via email sign up. There aren’t enough hours in the day to even sit with this amount of people. It’s more like a full weeks worth of work.
@@leewilson5389 I’ve pulled 12 leads in a day. If you keep your time limited to each customer then you can capitalize on your time. I can believe it’s doable. Would be exhausting. Also a lot of people run teams when they door knock.
@@KamerenB that’s appointment setting bro. This dude sold 22 systems in a day. Which is an amazing feat no matter how it’s done. It still defeats the purpose of a competition though.
By not telling people when it is Grid tied, they have to maintain the system to their power companies specifications for Power Generation to the Grid.
You think the Grid is gonna let old equipment stay hooked to it....I got a bridge to sell...plan on replacing the system components on a near constant basis.
That's where warranties and maintenance come in.....how often do you think the grid updating and switching out components? Panels and equipment/ components are garaunteed for 25 years with my company.
When you getting Dave Madsen on
How is that even possible to do 22 in a day? I don't belive that. My best was 6 in a day off 8 appointments which literally took the whole day
I used to work @ LGCY in San Diego where he worked. He knew he was going to be in a competition and informed the homeowners on the plan and they all signed the day of competition.

@@Ballislifejs cool 2 weeks 14 sales so I think that gr8
It’s obvious not true but sounds cool. 22 in a day lol
I've ran a solar company for the last 3 years. We did 3m yearly revenue. Solar is a hard business and I'm glad I'm out of it.
Bro 7 hours like Half of a pest control day
You wanna know how you close 22 deals in 1 day, get lucky and have 30 door knockers doing the work while you sit on your ass
Yes. Minimum gage earners doing the door knock
Man looks like Randy orton 🎉 probably why he closes so much more
Nope I’m calling major cap on this one bro…22 in one day, how? There’s only 24 hrs in a day including the time it takes to go from appt to appt lol.. unless he’s closing 8 deals at a time I don’t buy it… or did he have a bunch of old sits/referrals sign documents that day via email?
Not only that but there’s no way he has enough time to properly explain how solar works to these homeowners… if he’s finessing these homeowners it might be possible, but those are the fires we have to deal with on the doors.
Half of our job bro being an honest Solar rep is dealing with dishonest people…
A lot of D2D reps are sick of these sort of pipe dreams bro…
At the beginning of this podcast you mentioned that he was going to explain his tactics, but all he did during this was change the subject in a very narcissistic way.
He didn’t give us any feedback on how he was able to sell 16 self-gens in a single day… this one is ridiculous.
Some of us are trying to receive realistic values man. No offense to u Sam, I appreciate your content but I can’t stand these type of dudes.
There’s just no context to any of what he’s saying lol.. Sam u make so much better content on ur own
Nothing to see here. Just the same old misconceptions about "solar."
what is commission on a solar deal?
Depends who you work for! Some solar companies pay for (sit downs, no closes) some don’t
100 dollars
@@leewilson5389 ballin
3-4 grand on average per deal.
@@HorizunTheAlien thank you
Maybe there is too much markup in the solar industry if all of you can only be concerned about sales. He shows no concern for the financial harm done to the customer.
Big Freekin Deal !
So he had a fluke sales day .
The chances of a Solar Sales Rep doing 2 /Two deals in a day , would be phenomenal.
it has alot more to do with how your market is, if you’re in an untouched area. then yeah you’ll get 22 people, but if it’s been absolutely ran through you’ll be lucky if you get one. i’m in texas and everyone hates solar, and just door to door salesmen for that matter.
Work on your attitude!
There is no bum turf, only bums in the turf. I sell solar in Texas too and I have a different attitude and this different results.
No wonder you don’t sell. You complain too much haha
Everything you said is factually wrong. No such thing as an untouched area. Your perspective is not right for this job and you clearly didn’t watch or absorb the video
I really hope you picked up a book in the last year and really worked on yourself because that attitude is absolute trash. Your grandkids will forget your name because you never did a damn thing if you don’t fix that. I sell solar d2d in Dallas texas and I make 200k my first year in the industry. Quit whining he just said he got 22 in San Diego, a place that makes texas look like a walk in the park. I hope you figure it out bro, you’re better than that.
Not getting results? Knock more doors
You personally didn't sell 22 deals. Stop the Buffoonery.
Lol I really hate to hear the intro about 7 hours, because it took 6 hours just to get 2 appts, 1 sale
I don’t get shit , appts or anything, in 2-3 hours
It's tough out there man
i love when i get an appointment the first door lol
@@speedtantrum286 that happens sometimes and then I don't get another until the end of the day
@@RagingMerc lmaoo that happened to me yesterday then my appointment canceled 😭💀
Has it gotten any better?
It’s not deals it’s appointments stop acting like y’all actually selling half of those appointments
Guy is lying, there's no way. 22 is insane
shame on you!
Not possible to close that many in a day. Once in a life time scenario would have to take place. Trust me
How many went to install I wonder ….
