18 people??? I’m scared to leave my house!
Get your CCW, train, and carry.
Always protect yourself, never rely on the police to protect you. Especially with an average response time of 12-15 minutes national wide
@@gregdoh that doesn’t make it less scary
That was one state of 50. There are 300,000,000 people in the USA. Keep calm and carry on.
Don’t let one POS scare you out of living your life.
When seconds count the cops will be along in 10 minutes in the case of the bowling alley. Not acceptable.
What is going on with mental health here in the USA? Why does this individual have a mental health history he was not treated?
probably couldnt afford it, or thought he didnt need it.
Reagan dismantled state run mental health in the 80s. Not that it wasn’t riddled with problems. But Republicans replaced bad and inefficient with zero. We have to decide as a country which outcome is worse. Or have the courage to actually attempt to build something decent. But private sector can’t solve this issue. Structurally not possible.
@@Govna2104no he was actually committed involuntarily by the military. But he was released after two weeks.
I hope the Dr that released him is held accountable. And also he should’ve had his guns taken away. Maybe he did, idk 🤷♀️
The army put out a statement. He legally couldn’t have them bc of his mental health.
There is no mental health here, that’s the problem.
@rhondadavis1483 that's for sure he needed his guns confiscated. And military needs to let local police know about someone owning guns after hospitalized.
" I am literally at a loss for words over this horrific, terrible, senseless tragedy and so I mourn with the families of these innocent victims, sending my uttermost prayers from upon high, and condolence to each and every on of them as well"
Sounds like the same thing people keep saying. The quote I keep seeing from survivors is “I wish I had a gun today”
@@ridinggaming3769 pretty sure that’s the exact reason why he wrote this comment in quote, because he knew the exact same comment cliche that people will say every single time 😂
Are you not living life as expected tomorrow, working or using vegetables to pleasure yourself? Life will continue for you, you haven't or won't say any prayers, and will sleep just as you have been doing. So stop the lies
I was right about their next step. I’m not the only one though, that knew this would happen.
42 people murdered so far this month in Chicago where the gun laws are the strictest in the nation This does not include wounded people
This has been happening for decades now. Maybe if we had some decent gun laws in this country but nope, can’t have that. Same ppl who want to ban books refuse to ban assault rifles.
Well what are good gun laws? It seems many of these incidents in the US occur because people are breaking the law.
Your neighbour Canada has much stricter rules and have been getting tighter over the decades. However, their firearm related homicides per capita have remained the same for 20 years. Meanwhile many European nations and Australasia have experienced a significant decrease in the last 20 years despite much significant changes. Some even losening. It's a complex issue and people forget that.
@@scootergrant8683Australia and New Zealand are very remote, we also don’t border any other countries so it’s a lot less easy to get guns in.
@@scootergrant8683Hey genius, guess you missed the part about how over 80% of illegal guns confiscated by Canadian authorities that are related to violent crime originate from the US. I'll leave the rest of your BS comment alone. The gun violence problem in the US is directly related to the saturation and ease of access.
My cousin survived the second shooting, lost a bunch of his friends. Can’t believe they still haven’t found him. I’m a teacher, my school was cancelled today and tomorrow, too.
i am so sorry for your cousins losses and traumatic experience but so glad they are alive even if there’s a long road ahead. do you know long it took for cops to arrive at the scene after the first 911 call? i cannot find this information anywhere

And that’s the sad part. Us Americans are used to this.

Imagine living for xx years in peace, only to be killed by a maniac who invalidates not only your life, but the life of your family and friends who've molded you into who you were until that day. Imagine the horror that they've felt when they knew that not only did their sons/daughters/friends died that day, but as well as their hopes and dreams to see them live a long life and prosper until the end gone with just a trigger of a gun; their lives ended with such a useless reason.
Only in the USA, where the idiots and psychos roam free. Rest in peace to the victims, and my condolences to the bereaved.

Safest city , safest town , safest area . safest neighborhood.. Now a days , no where is safe.
It's a singular incident.
The fact that he was once in the military will make him harder to find.
The fact that our inept police are looking for him will make it harder to find him. It's pretty likely he killed himself. They haven't released the note he left. Why? So they can keep wasting taxpayer money playing in the woods and standing around blocking off roads. And making overtime to do it.

how long did it take cops to arrive from the first 911 call to getting on the scene???? why is there NO INFORMATION ON THIS?????
This was the 565th mass shooting in America this year
And the Walmart too
I can't believe that has happened a real shocker for real. Because Lewiston, Maine was my childhood home. My Dad and my younger siblings, my youngest sister and two younger brothers live in Lewiston, Maine. Thank God 🙏 that they're alright though. That sort of thing doesn't happen in Maine at all.
Is it really that much of a shocker? There's so many nut jobs these days, and there's even more guns. And the nut jobs are the ones with most of the guns. I'd say it's the exact opposite of shocking just looking at the facts
If it's in America it will happen. Smh
It doesn't happen anywhere , or shouldn't at least. Wether a rural town , a good neighborhood , a bad neighborhood , or a big city. It's happening every where in America. And only in America.
Makes me think .....
Does anyone else think there's something else going ? Kinda like a secretive mission is being carried out by our own government so they can ban civilian guns and really control our country ?
I'm not a gun activist nor do I own a gun.
Rest in peace to the victims of this mass shooting , all the prior ones and the ones yet to come
It's happening all over the world. Violence and evil run through the streets of every city.
Everyone seems so shocked & at a loss for words but to me it's NO surprise this kinda thing happens often now, reminds me of that other fool in las Vegas that shot up everyone from that building

Bro lewiston maine is not a safe place to live at all regardless of the mass shooting
The timeline doesn’t add up. First shooting takes place at the bowling alley and then 12 minutes later at the bar and grill. Even right now which is around midnight on the east coast and dead streets with the lockdown. Google maps is saying 10 minutes.
So you’re telling me he went to the bowling alley, shot there and somehow got in his vehicle, drove to the Bar and Grill, got out of his vehicle pulled his weapon out of it walked into the bar and grill and opened fire there?
And you’re telling me not one person at either location was outside smoking or driving bye or walking around outside, especially at busy places.
You think he was driving at the speed limit? Google maps works it out by speed limits, he could have driven only 15mph quicker and got there in plenty of time.
@@damedusa5107 you think there wasn’t traffic? If the bowling alley and bar was packed then there was more vehicles on the road.
And you’re telling there was not one person outside either location? I know at bowling alleys there are plenty of people outside smoking, getting fresh air, walking around to and from their vehicle or just hanging out. Same goes for the bar.
Everything has to be a conspiracy, now days. hahaha

Gun control isn’t going to help. Look at all the people without one to protect themselves
Gun control is meant to keep guns out the hands of the bad guys champ. If you aren't a psycho or a criminal then gun laws shouldn't matter to you as they don't stop you from owning a firearm.
And sea? Anyways...
If you know that area well and the woods well and don't want to be found...you won't be.
It’s men (#1 common denominator) with mental health and personality disorders, with easy access to guns, bottom line. Put money into mental health and you’ll solve half of the homeless problem at the same time. I’m all for it, I’ll vote for that. But also create safety laws with stricter requirements to have access to guns. Get AKs and ARs out of our society, we’ve done it before. Maybe keep them locked at a gun range or something. All kinds of measure can be put in place to reduce the risk. Do all the things!! It’s fecking complete insanity to let this go on and insist that guns make us safer and we are freer with more guns than people in this country. While we try nothing to stop it or even slow it down when we could. Shame on US.
🐂💩
The US got "assault rifles" out of society and firearm related homicides didn't decrease per capita. Meanwhile, Canada has been becoming increasingly restrictive and their firearm related homicides per capita have remained constant for 20 years to present. Meanwhile European nations have either losened or maintained the same regulations for 20 years and have seen decreasing levels along with Australia and New Zealand.
the shooter seemed to think that guns could potentially stop him, that would explain why he only targeted gun free zones like that bowling alley and bar. if his mass shooting was targeting a shooting range or gun shop instead it would be very short lived (as would he).
Where can I purchase my "Lewiston Strong" t-shirt? No doubt they were printed up last week, right?

We have again FAILURE on the job. Consequently INNOCENT LIVES were lost. Where were the police? First we have a mass shooting and a call to 911 at 1856 hours at the bowling alley and seven innocent lives were lost? The police should have been there in 2/4/6 minutes? Than we have another mass shooting and a call to 911 at 1708 hours at the bar and grill where eight innocent were lost asap? WTF are the police? Where? The police in Maine are AFRAID to confront the shooter? Are the police sleeping on the job? This is a small town mind you? The TV cameras come and the police are now in full force? Figure that out? I was on my way home from work Monday night when I started feeling queezy about 15 minutes from home. I suddenly had to poop, and I knew I would not make it home in time. So I flew into a dark parking lot, jumped out, dropped my pants and a huge stream of creamy watery poop came pouring out. It was quite a bit. I left, went home, and went to sleep. On Tues morning, I had errands to run, so I figured I'd pop into that parking lot to admire my pile from the previous night and was shocked to discover that someone had stolen my poop !! Yeah not in this case…. Not only is the shooter former military, he is a firearms instructor.. the average Joe doesn’t stand a chance
Number 1: The Bowling alley is a no-carry zone. Serious charges await if found to have carried a gun on the premises.
3: When you pull a gun, nearby security or police can mistake you for a shooter, and/or if anybody else has a gun, they’ll likely think you’re a shooter too and you could easily get shot. (Or become a target from police or concealed carriers)
4: The residents were all taken by surprise. You can’t match your pull-out speed with the fire rate of an AR-15. It just doesn’t work like that.
