- So my hair all broke off after I was on American Idol. I was so stressed! So I kicked my wig game up even more than I had before and I NEVER wore my hair while I was trying to transition! I was hoping that one day I would find a curly Perm for my hair. I am EXTREMELY tender headed so doing my natural hair was so painful! I’m so grateful to have this done! I literally wake u, take my bonnet off and spray it with water and condition it and go! I LOVE it!!! I’m so happy! I finally have the freedom of having my own hair. I’m so grateful.

Gorgeous. Make sure you use the finishing mist by wave nouveau, and sleep in a plastic bag at night. Your hair will be wet in the am but the moisture what's makes it grow. Or while at home wear the plastic bag in daytime for a while just to get moisture. When you go back, only touch up new growth. Rinse out and proceed with phase 2 and 3. Follow steps your hair will grow and be beautiful. I'm an old school Wave nouveau girl and I Loved it. Going back and I'm 66. Those who are losing hair is allowing the straightener to be pulled thru their hair each time they get a touch. You dont do that. You touch only new growth and then do phase 2 and 3. Make sure all chemical are rinse out of your hair.You will love it.
Ps, use only wave nouveau products for your curls, nothing else. Please. You won't be sorry. Promise

@@bb.b.9620 Wave Nouveau is meant to be moist. Everyone once in a while maybe with a really good heat protectant. If you want to use a flat iron it's better to get a relaxer or to heat train your own natural hair.
Thank you I just went to a Wave nouveau a few weeks ago from being natural for about two years. I'm 70 not a hairdresser have been doing my own hair for years wanted to try this on myself to see what happens. Glad to hear your input about wearing the plastic cap will try that wasn't sure how to maintain this look. My wave turned out nice even with me doing it myself and I trimmed the ends because they were wretched. If you have anymore ideas for me please reply thanks.

She'd look amazing with a really short / cropped bleached style... nothing yellow/orange or brassy... but a nice tone especially with her skin complexion and facial features/banging bone structure. Wow!

She isnt 4c anymore, she has chemically processed hair. The Wave Nouveau perm she has consists of straightening the hair first (basically a mild relaxer), then applying perm rods and gel for about 30 mins to achieve your curl pattern & finally a lock in liquid that keeps your curls. So at the end of the process her 4c hair is now just wavy, not curly. No one that has this is considered a natural. Yrs ago in the 90s I was a hairdresser and these perms were extremely popular.
her won was in plats before so when she took out the plats the hair looked kind of curly and loose.But it is 4 hair

FYI, you may find that the curl is stronger the second time you have it permed (retouch).
Additionally, the curls may loosen up the first time you wash your hair after each perm as well.

A I would strongly advise not to get this again I’ve never had this but a friend two friends of mine got this and their hair was breaking off. I think it’s really damaging and if it’s not the first time for someone with stronger hair they will notice either reduced length/breakage or a growth stunt because they don’t realize it’s breaking off little by little

My ex and I went to Jamaica back in 82 and I got a wave nouveau because of the humidity. It had a looser curl pattern than a "jheri " curl. Because of the moisture applied to the hair everyday my hair grew so long. Folks with the "curl" had the same results. It was the stay soft fro, s curl moisturize, etc that kept the hair moisturized and growing. There was a difference in the wave and the curl. Folks called it the same.
I did a Leisure Curl some years ago on my natural hair and it was beautiful, and my hair grew, and grew, and grew! The only reason I stopped getting it done was because we transferred to another state (military) and I couldn't find anyone who knew how to do a curl in that area so that was the end of that. I just recently did another big chop, if I can find someone in the area I live in now that does Leisure Curl I'm definitely doing it again.

I have the same done to my hair. It’s definitely not natural from beginning to end. It’s cute though. The beginning is what it looks like on 4c hair when dry. I have 4b 3c hair so mine came out a little looser. You must keep your hair hydrated and wash with special shampoos to avoid breakage and damage. I think her telling people her hair is 4c without being upfront with the chemicals being in her hair already in the beginning is what threw some of y’all off

Brittney's Cloud thank you! If you are fine with doing your hair and it’s healthy then do you. My hair was getting long and DEAD and so painful to detangle and do. I’m sooo tender headed. And then it would only look good for a day then I’d have to do it all over. I’m glad I kept growing it and didn’t just straight perm it. This truly changed my life.
LorenSharice Thank you for responding! Yeah, my hair did suffer from heat damage earlier last year, but I think it’s fine now due to using aphogee (I probably spelled it wrong lol). I might try this out next week, but I’ve been weighing in my pros and cons lol. But I really like your results!
This looks cute but I know it can get dry and you have to keep doing it which can cause over processing very easily just like a perm. Also you have to keep it very hydrated. My mom wore this for yearssssssss
Honestly it's ok but it's not a perfect option just like all other options it does have plus and minus.
It depends on how much you choose to keep doing it. My mom would do texturizers back in the day on her hair and she didn’t do it extremely often. She would only do it about every 2 months, sometimes 3 or 4. She made sure she was also doing hot oil treatments, deep conditioning and protein treatments and her hair grew very long and healthy to say she was using chemicals.

Growing up my mom put w/n in me and my sisters hair.I loved the curls and because of the moisture it provides your hair grows like weeds! The downside is you have to wear a plastic cap at night, and somtimes the cap fell off while sleeping. If you roll your hair too tight you will have breakage.And also we were teased and people at school often would threaten to sat fire to our hair. Like Michael Jackson and the pepsi commercial.But by all meand please stay away from flame cause your hair will catch 🔥 btw I love your voice and your hair turned out really cute.It will take you no time to grow out your hair!

We need updates though a lot of peeps are saying it damages your hair etc! Like it’s an improved version of jerri curls or just getting relaxers nothing wrong with em but we need health updates! You still have to maintain relaxed/perm end hair if not your hair will fall out and be damaged. Also is this the new thing like having or preceding the curly silly hair look and not fro curls or kinky curls just curious!!

@@Oliviagold__Type in ginacurl on UA-cam/Hair'sTalent on IG. This white stylist does a variation of the wave nouveau called the "Gina Curl". All of her client's hair seems to be flourishing with it...so much to where I'm considering flying out to her salon lol.
It definitely will . I had it last year and I had to literally cut all my hair off because of MAJOR breakage and shedding. It left my hair thin and uneven AS HELL

One of the reasons why people hair maybe breaking off is because your hair stylist is not rinsing the activator out long enough... and the water should be cool not warm or hot
Had nouveau yrs ago. Its true yr hair will double within a yr. It was beautiful I just got tired if leaving grease stains behind.

That doesn't matter they perm your hair so you still end with whatever size rods you use during the perming process you can perm any texture hair including 4c
