  • Hi and welcome to another Tom Did It video.
This is Part 1 of a 3 Part video series.
Here I'll be showing you how to remove the engine from the frame, clean the engine and make your own gaskets.
    So in summary:
Part 1 - I remove and dismantle the engine. Clean engine and cut new gaskets.
Part 2 - I assemble the engine, check new squish then install it back in the bike.
Part 3 - Is focused on bike assembly, new fluids and oils and first start up.
My aim is to make videos that provide some light entertainment for those who have interest in motorcycles whilst being educational to the average DIY mechanic.
    Enjoy.

Absolutely fantastic content, I bought a 2012, full power UK RS125 recently, and have watched all of your videos Tom, they're brilliant, and full of clear concise details.
I'm currently in the process of using your 34mm vhsb carb settings as a starting point for my bike.
    Thanks mate 👌

Hello there🤝. Thank you for leaving this message. I’m glad the videos are of some use to you.
The 34mm carb will add power throughout the rev range and give a bit more hit in the power band. It’s a great mod👍
A friendly word of advice on the carb settings: Start tuning slightly rich then lean out. My carb settings suit my climate, altitude and riding conditions.
      Cheers
      Tom

all videos included amazing engineering information. bro u are user guide for aprilia rs 125 owners. ı will buy an aprilia because the other motorcycle wont makes 34 hp from 125 cc. i think this 2t engine block will be epic for all times. but 250 cc aprilia is better than this 125cc block because it has 2 125cc piston :) i want to give this motorcycle as a gift to my grandson. thanks for videos and i am waiting the more contents about 2t engines

Great video Tom, thank you for the guidance. I bought a rs125 full power for my son. We serviced the fork based on your video. Also servied the rear brake and switch. Now we have an issue with the horn. It blows the 15A fuse. I'm guessing it's the diode. Do you know where I can find it ? Thanks again!

      Hi Tom
Good to hear my videos were of some use to you.
Sorry I can’t help with the horn issue as I’ve not worked on the horn circuit.

      Hi there Aadi
      Thanks for leaving a comment.
Just using lots of gentle persuasion….
I think it’s the first time the engine ever came out of the frame.

If you use threebond gasket glue you dont need no base gasket can also skim the head and use 2 orings ßtuck on top of each other

Hi and thanks for the informative comments.
I’m just thinking, if I lower the cylinder to increase compression, will this alter the ports in the cylinder?
As you have said, I’m thinking about taking a bit off the top and using a couple of O-rings.

Tom was oil pipes going to oil pump and coming out 5mm and 3 mm

    • @tomdidit4216
      @tomdidit4216  2 роки тому

      Yes that’s correct.
The main oil line to the pump is 5mm (internal diameter).
The oil line leading to the carb is 3mm internal diameter.
Sorry for the late response on this one mate.

Hello. can I ask you if you know which are the wires to join to create the jumper to remove the stand from the motorbike control unit? I have to do this because I can't find the kickstand sensor spare parts of your same type of motorcycle. because I have the same. the on my rotary sensor of the stand I have three cables of green black and white it seems to me. can you give me some advice?

    • @tomdidit4216

      Hi there Valentino.
Sorry I’ve not had a chance to look at the RS wiring yet so cannot safely advise.
Have you sorted it yet? If not, I may be able to do some searching for you…👍

@@tomdidit4216 hi, thank you for your answer. At this moment I decided to disconnect the sensor from the female pin of the control unit cable and now I have a cable, (the sensor), which on one end is made up of a male pin and on the other end by a rotary sensor that is screwed to the tripod with a screw.
Here in Italy I can't find that new part. You have some advice.
