Servus and welcome to my new video.
In this part 5 its time to assemble the prepared parts of the ROTAX 122 engine. We start with changing all seals of the water pump assembly. Afterwards the gearbox is put in the engine case and the shift parts follow. Now you can see pretty well how the shifting mechanism works and I try to explain it.
With a new gasket the second engine half can be mounted and tightened down. OF course we test every function all the time because you never know. Before the cylinder foot gasket can go on, the big middle gasket needs to be cut flush with the engine.
After that is done the clutch and other small plastic gears can be mounted in the right order and according to markings. With a new oring on the oil pump and a new shaft seal the clutch cover goes on as well. Next are the piston, cylinder and cylinder head. Every step is explained and shown in detail.
To run the machine you need electrical power so we mount the alternator. One of the last steps is to completely disassemble the power valve, clean it and throw it together with new seals and o-rings. It is very important that this part works correctly so we pay attention to it.
And because it is easy to reach at this point the last part is the sprocket.
At age 15 I bought a Honda NSR 125 - A very good bike, had a ton of fun with it. But like everybody in that age I always wanted a Aprila RS, because its the most powerful 125 2 stroke. But the prizes were higher and the cost for maintenance is also much higher, so I could not afford one.
More than 10 years later I had the chance to buy this RS cheap and now I have the skills to completely repair it.

Nice man, I also have rs 125, but there are not so many guides on it, yet your channel fix it. Especially on the Russian UA-cam where I come from, you know when I bought Aprilia, (I have a full power of 2009), everyone from my friends told me why I need it, there are almost no spare parts in Russia, but when I opened the throttle I realized what it costs. Spare parts have to be brought all the way from Italy, in Russia (Moscow) there really are practically none, and not through an official dealer, but by asking friends living there to bring them by plane (they have dual citizenship). In short, thanks for the video, it helped a lot. By the way, it's very nice to watch of it even reminds me of a video like ASMR :D

Hi i have been watching your videos and they are great infomation good work, im in the middle of a rs125 restoration at the moment and the videos have been a great help, on the engine casing near the flywheel there is what looks like a pipe connector could you advice me what connects to it please as i cant seem to fine a pipe to connect to it. Many thanks and great work.
I dont know what you mean. Is it on the flywheel side or between the two engine cases?

1:39 genuine Aprilia parts lists "Molykote 111" to be used here, which is a clear silicone compound, so I would say it checks out as correct.

Yes I tried with oil but it wasn't accurate enough. I ended up using the middle gasket and it runs fine.
I have always used a strip of solder in the plug hole and measure the squashed end , after slowly turning it over by hand.😁🇬🇧
The manual says to measure the amount of Milliliter to calculate the chamber. But as said I just used the middle gasket and it's fine. Although I would like to know if you feel the difference with another gasket.
I am old school, I have built things like rd350 power valves, rg250 ect- I understand how you have done it, if it runs and rides brilliant 👍. Not criticising the great work you have done, just love to see people work on 2 strokes, and do a proper job like you. I have gone to the dark side, I have a Kawasaki vn900 I am undecided if to bobber it 🤔 good luck with your great tutorials👌

Hattest du Probleme mit dem Simmerring auf der Kupplungseite der Kurbelwelle? Habe genau so verbaut wie im Video und Motor saugt Getriebeöl an und verbrennt mit.
Nein hatte keine Probleme. Würde mich auch wundern wenn der so stark saugt dass dort Öl durch kommt. Das ist ja relativ zäh.

Hi, vielen Dank. Ich habe in ganz verschiedenen shops bestellt. Die normlager zb bei einem Lieferant für Lager. Die genauen shops habe ich nicht mehr im Kopf.

Ahh yea that's just the breather outlet for the gearbox. Usually a hose is connected to it and goes up a little bit then down underneath the bike, end open.

Mein Auslass-Schieber sifft wie verrückt. Ich hab vor kurzem auch erst die Dichtungen gewechselt. Was könnte dran sein? Das Öl sifft anscheinend am der Schaft-Dichtung vorbei
Klingt erstmal nach zu viel Öl im Gemisch. Wenn das Öl nicht sauber verbrennt kommt es auch an neuen Dichtungen vorbei.

Nein eher nicht. Vllt ist die Öl Pumpe verstellt oder das Gemisch zu fett
@@bikedogtor1663 Mir ist aufgefallen, dass meine Leerlaufdüsen (65) undso (Mischrohr) zu groß sind. Bestelle mit bald die passenden Düsen dann schau ich mal. Und ich fahre zudem die falsche Vergasernadel (X02). Hab auch deswegen vermutlich ein stottern bei 5-6k wenn ich die nadel im 2ten clip habe. Im ersten clip (von oben) läufts normal, jedoch muss ich dann die gemischschraube ziemlich weit raus drehen (4 umdrehungen), dass die beim gas aufreisen nicht abstirbt.
Denke das hängt parallel mit dem Austritt vom Öl zusammen
ps: Das modell war vorher gedrosselt (MP-01)

Cylinder honing with some engine parts was around 250 and overall parts were around 600€

Ich hab ne rs 125 gefunden die seit 2018 steht. Will jetzt meine Eltern überreden ob ich sie mit holen darf (bin halt erst 15).Will dann auch den Motor überholen. Hab ne Frage zu der Ausgleichswelle, kann ich die ausbauen oder lieber drinnen lassen? Und wenn schon offen, die Zahnräder durch welche aus Metall ersetzen?
Die ausgleichswelle würde ich drin lassen und die Zahnräder sind bestimmt auch aus Gewichtsgründen aus Kunststoff. Gibt es die denn aus Metall?

@@sputniken4350 I had 2 and just chose the better one bc no idea how to replace it. I think it is a "lifetime" bearing once pressed in no way out.

Mostly from local stores. The bearings for example are standard sizes you get at every bearing store.

I was lucky because plating wasn't necessary. In Germany mec-racing is the best address.

der motor ist halt einfach dafür gemacht neu aufgebaut zu werden.
hab vor kurzem nen minarelli am6 neu aufgebaut. das war der horror. du musstest da wirklich das Getriebe distanzieren
ps: du konntest doch dein lagerabzieher umbauen (also die krallen anders rum dran machen) um diese Lager von innen nach außen zu ziehen?
und einen nikasil zylinder neu auszuhohnen ohne diesen neu zu beschichten, gibt dem zylinder viel mehr laufleistung, da die queren rillen vom hohnen für einen bessern ölfilm sorgen
Moin, die zweitakter finde ich generell einfach zu überholen. Gewisse Eigenheiten hat ja jeder Motor. Die Abzieher zum einziehen mache ich ungern weil die Krallen schnell abrutschen und dann ist viel Kraft dahinter. Am besten wäre eine Presse.

Kanns sein, dass der dichtring falsch eingebaut wurde?
Im Manual steht: "Die Dichtlippe des Wellendichtrings muß nach außen zeigen. ..."
Nach außen, im Sinne von in Richtung Kupplungsseite. In dem Video, wo du den Motor zerlegt hast, sieht man, dass die Dichtlippe in Richtung kupplung zeigt... :)
Also ist ja ein Radialer Dichtring. Laut wikipedia ist die Flüssigkeitsseite immer in Richtung Dichtlippe
Ich werd den Motor in nächster Zeit mal genau unter die Lupe nehmen. Der hat viele Kleinigkeiten. Die Lager haben ein Loch im Gehäuse wo Gemisch durch laufen kann zum schmieren und kühlen. Oberhalb von diesem loch ist eine kante / Einsparung, was das Öl ins lock leitet. Sogesagt eine Öl Leitplanke 🧐😂
Die Dinger sind in manchen Motoren vermurkst und müssen zurecht gedremelt werden
@@Tiwey ja nach Anleitung habe ich den Ring falsch eingebaut. Aber Fakt ist auch dass die manuals immer Fehler beinhalten und ich montiere Wellendichtringe immer mit der Lippe zur Druckseite. So drückt der entstehende Druck (ja meistens Öl) die Lippe auf die Welle. Bei dem Zweitakter wird ja das Gemisch im kw Gehäuse vorverdichtet wodurch ein Druck auf der Innenseite entsteht. Federgabeln sind ein gutes Beispiel. Der Simmerring wird mit der Lippe Richtung Öl montiert weil er andersrum gar nicht dichten würde.
@@Tiwey das Loch was du meinst ist tatsächlich wichtig. Allerdings "kann" hier kein Gemisch durch fließen sondern bei jedem Hub wird das vorverdichtete Gemisch durch die Lager und dann die Löcher nach oben in den Brennraum geleitet. Das schmiert und kühlt die Lager.
@@bikedogtor1663 interessant. Also kann man den Ring auf beiden Seiten mit der lippe nach innen bauen? Man geht also Gefahr wenn man es falsch rum einbaut, dass die Verdichtung den Ring raus drückt?
