  • Learn how to make solid scrub bars that instantly get creamy when activated with water & rubbed on skin. It exfoliates the perfect amount & feels great. The bars readily disperse loads of suds, foam, & lather! Plus, the coffee grinds stayed evenly suspended in the bars (exfoliants normally sink to the bottom with normal soap).
    RECIPE: 100 grams raw coconut oil (expeller pressed), 2-5 grams coffee grinds, 100 grams grated soap (Olay), 20 grams fragrance oil (optional).
    The emollient, like carrier oil or a soft/creamy butter, makes the soap a softer consistency. Don't use hard, brittle butters. The softer or more liquid the oil/butter is, the less you have to add.
    SOAP: Always grate the soap so it melts evenly. And melt the soap slowly on the lowest heat setting. I recommend Carress, Olay, or Dove - or "C.O.D." for short. Melt & pour soap and other cheap soap bars will definitely work, just not as good. In my experience, the soap comes out stringy & bumpy (not smooth & creamy like C.O.D.). These soaps also tend to burn easily whereas it's very hard to burn C.O.D. You may need to add an emulsifier or perhaps emulsifying wax. You may have to tweak the recipe a bit, too. Also, melting/molding the soap twice seems to help the consistency & texture.
    COFFEE BEANS: Make beans/decoration soap first. I used melt and pour soap and added coffee grinds and liquid colorant. Cool & harden beans then arrange them in the mold.
    SCRUB BARS: Melt the butter OR heat the oil. Once melted/heated, add coffee grinds & stir. Next add the grated soap & stir until the soap is fully melted. Remove from heat & add fragrance oil. NOTE: The soap is really puffy when hot, so cool it until it deflates before pouring it in the mold. After pouring soap into mold, freeze for about 20 minutes then unmold them. Allow them to get to room temperature then package them (shrink wrap bags work great).
    Soaps should last 6 months - 1 year. This recipe rendered exactly 4 round scrub bars (as shown in video).

    Wouldn't be able to sell that as your own because of the commercial soap in it. But like the idea. Maybe just using melt and pour. Without the commercial soap. Then you could sell it.

    I just came across your video today and you look so different with your hair that color and you are so beautiful. I love the color and I watch all your videos and have tried many of them just can't quite get the scrubing bubbles body wash powder. I don't want to put the fragrance in incase someone wants a different scent. I just want to make the powder and add any scent when ordered in their favorite scent later. How do I do that? And I see you have your new lab up and running it looks so nice.

    What other exfoliants could you use? Wanting to try a lavender essential oil to make as gifts and not sure if you would still be able to smell the coffee....would poppy seeds work?

    This may be a silly question but do you use fresh coffee grounds or recycling your used pods?

    • @803trends
      @803trends 7 місяців тому

      I was wondering that,too! I'm guessing recycled so a person doesn't smell like coffee,and she just needs the exfoliation of them. JMO

    Hi
    I made this and I used Shae butter despite the yellow color that batch came out good. Then I did it with coconut oil and after setting them in the freezer the next morning, they were to soft to pick up. What happened? And can I fix it?

    • @clee821
      @clee821 3 місяці тому

      I did the same last night. This morning all soft :( Maybe too much coconut oil? What should I do? I am needing this for an upcoming event.
