  • Make Moisturizing Body Butter Solid Scrub Bars! DIY Lush SCRUBEE Bar! Learn how to make Lush’s famous scrubee bar! The scrubee is a very luxurious, butter-rich, moisturizing, & exfoliating solid body scrub bar. If you’re familiar with lush’s scrubee, this is going to feel exactly the same!
    RECIPE: 120 grams butter (I used 60 grams cocoa butter, 30 grams Shea butter, 30 grams kokum butter), 10 grams beeswax, 30 grams emulsifying wax, 60 grams melt & pour soap base, 3 tablespoons exfoliant, & 15 milliliters fragrance oil * Cool mix to 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius) before adding fragrance oil. Don’t be afraid to tweak the recipe to get exactly what you want! For example: If you want your scrubee to be more buttery & moisturizing, add less soap/wax OR add more butter. If you want it to be more exfoliating, add more walnut shells, or consider using a more exfoliating ingredient (sugar/salt). *** Don't burn soap, if you do - it’ll become gummy & very hard to work with! LINES/PATTERNS: Lush's scrubee has 3 distinct lines, where the exfoliant is peeking through. Pour a bit of melted mix in mold & wait until initial layer cools to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees Celsius), then carve out whichever pattern or shape that you want! {Get creative here & let your imagination run wild! It is very easy to re-do if you mess up!} EXFOLIANT: I chose walnut shells simply because it looks like the scrubee bar. {But, you can use sugar, salt, crushed red beans, walnut shells, coffee grounds, ammonium oxide crystals, pumice, etc.} MOLDING: Allow mix to cool & thicken a bit before pouring in mold. {If not, this will melt the layer with designs & the exfoliant will sink to the bottom.} NOTE: Once mix starts to thicken & become gel-like, it cools & hardens VERY quickly after that! Sudsy Scrubee: If you want suds with your scrubee, simply chop up a bar of soap & fill the mold with it. Then pour the buttery mix over it. CURE: Freeze bars for about 20 minutes so they cool & harden & they should pop right out of the mold! NOTE: I made 2 tutorials & ended up changing the recipe a bit so if the ingredients in the video don’t look quite right- this is why. Just follow the recipe & you’ll get an exact replica of the scrubee bar that lush sells! By the way, I got the recipe perfect on the 3rd try! For some reason, for me, the 3rd time is ALWAYS the charm! RESULTS: This recipe yields exactly 4 round scrubees & will give you Lush’s famous scrubee - PERIOD! So, if you love their scrubee, you’ll LOVE this recipe!!! Happy scrubee-making!

    WOW….!!! You Are My New HERO!! I LOVED THIS VIDEO & THE RESULTS!! I Love You, THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing this video, I used to buy the scrubee & it gets expensive along with other products! They just raised a couple of prices on a few of my favorites, I love them but they go so fast!!! The rising prices were draining my Savings, But NOW I’ve Made my own & SAVED A BUNCH! I love it, TRULY & like yours Better! I Can’t Thank you Enough, Your The BEST!!! Any other Products you Think you could Show us? I Can’t Live without my Staple the “RO’s ARGAN BODY BUTTER BAR” any way you could show us that one? I’ve also used the “KING of SKIN”, but that one isn’t as easy to go on as the RO’s. PLEASE 🙏🏼 if you do another, Could you do the RO’s?!
    I’m so excited I’ve found your channel & look forward to trying everything you put out!!
    I’m sorry I didn’t take any pictures of my Scrubee project ( Honestly I didn’t even think I’d be able to do it) but now that I know I can, next time I Will take pictures!
    Your instructions are perfect & easy to follow! Also, Where do you source your ingredients? I went through “www.bulkapothecary.com” Because they claim to be the best priced out there, I didn’t search a lot except Amazon & they were better than that site so I went with them, but if you know of a better site, please let us know?
    I Look forward to all your future videos! Thank you again!!🫶🏻

    love it! I make cold process soap but i started out with melt an pour! I put my melt an pour in the microwave for 30 sec at a time until fully melted. If you are using a small amount of m&p then put it in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time. Using a double boiler may be tricky if your melting the M&P soap with butters. You can try slowly melt the soap by itself and the great thing about m&p is you can always remelt if it hardens up on you.

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 роки тому

      Yes. Very oily- just like lush’s scrubee. This is why I don’t really care for them. I added soap to 1 in the video & it helped a lot with the oily. I only made this because it was a requested video. I actually threw my original scrubee from Lush away. I couldn’t stand how oily it was. And, the oil residue was so hard to get off. With all that said, a lot of people actually like this product. It’s one of Lush’s best seller.

    • @glacialimpala
      @glacialimpala 2 роки тому

      Scubee isn't supposed to be a soap or just a scrub bar. It's a body conditioner first and foremost. And body conditioners are oily because the point is that your skin stays a bit oily after you're done with the bathing process :) So yes, you succeeded 100%! And if you don't want a body conditioner then the recipe is hard to adjust, better look for another one

      I feel the same way! I don't like any residue left after a scrub. I purchased Lush's scrubee bar (this thing), used it once, & it went right into the trash. Oddly enough a LOT of people LOVE this thing. To each their own!

      Omg so NOT! Not exaggerating- probably 1 of the easiest projects I’ve ever done!
