Boldogs are really important to the lore I think, despite barely getting mentioned. They offer hints to how the orcs and other monsters were originally created, by fusing an otherworldly spirit with a physical being until their "souls" are fused into one
I've been a huge fan of Tolkien for 20 years, read the books, silmarilion, watched the movies, played the games, and I've never know about these Vampires and Boldogs. You guys really did your absolute best for this huh?
Vampires are mentioned in the Silmarillion, but Tolkein's vampires very different to how they're normally pictured ("werebats" might be a more accurate appellation) and they don't exactly get much of the spotlight. Sauron's vampire messenger gets some mention in the story of Beren and Luthien, but from memory it's pretty much "she causes them some problems, gets killed, and then Luthien takes her form as a disguise".
