I can honestly say this channel changed my life. My mother passed away almost 2yrs. ago. I looked after her for over 10yrs. She helped me get through some dark times in my life. It was literally on the same day she passed that I found VGG. After a while I started to become interested in cars again. I'll be 59 soon but when I was 16/17yrs. old I was a mechanic's apprentice. I chose an other career later. Ironically, my son did become a mechanic. We had become distant with each other but when my mother became ill, he put on his winter tires and drove 250 miles to be at her side. Later that night he heard the intro for VGG and we sat together watched an episode. Since then he's moved back in with me. I bought a car that we could work on together. I emailed Derek for advice on which would he recommend performance heads or Holley Sniper. The car is a perfect sleeper now and I just bought a Mustang that was a drag and we're going to "dial it down a bit". Thank you Derek, your family and other subscribers who helped an older feller to see there still is sunshine. You just have to know where to look.
I am following you from Iraq, the capital, Baghdad. I wish you success in your work. I have the honor to meet your side and work with you. I hope that my dream of meeting you will come true. Well done to whoever did the editing. What a great job on cobbling up all the videos. Thank you.
If this was the intro people would start watching from the beginning every time the editing and choice of 1m viewer review is absolutely awesome.
I can't fathom how long it took to put this together.
A feller was watching this live for about 10 minutes then got the call from dad saying I need a hand at farm. So a guy figured I’d be back in 20 minutes then 2 hours later I get home grad a cold snack and get back to watching. Thanks Derek your the best.
Last winter I was bedridden for several months. Two things kept me sane: 1. Reading the Bible. 2. Watching Vice Grip Garage. Thank you.
This if the funniest thing a guy has seen in a very long time and I have been watching VGG since the O.G. Betty White video.. Thanks Derek. Now Time for some mountain sodas.
Congratulations!!!! Well-deserved! LOVE you guys!!!!!
The man who gave us Matt and Mark! Love your family!
I'm a university student. In order not to be a burden to my family, I started uploading videos to UA-cam.
Even if 4-5 people among this many people subscribe, it gives courage and morale. Thank you.
A guys pretty impressed with the time it must taken to put this together. Thank you so much to both of you. Never change.
DEREK and his Wife JESSICA are amazing people. We love hanging out and talking car stuff, buying their Merch, so supporting the UA-camr's we love......
After the years of enjoying Derek's content, I cant even work on anything without random hand gestures and sounds when working on something. Even the famous "Help, Me understand" when something is not doing what it should.
I love how he's reduced the word battery to two syllables....now that's efficiency.
There's a lot of "We're just gonna pretend we didn't see that" around my house now
How many people here spray something and think pssst..... pssst.... psssssssssst.... psst? Lol
Ive been on UA-cam since 2007 or so, whenever they started and this is by far the best channel I've ever subscribed too. Happy to be a part of the VGG fanbase. Thanks for the education and the fun!
Congratulations VVG
Your a genuine guy with a great family
Here’s to the next milestone 🥃
My God Dude my gut hurts I have been busting a gut for the whole video I love watching your videos you are my favorite UA-camr dude you are awesome 👌 👏 👍
My two favorite phrases; “I’ll be dipped” and “bring the thunder!”…classic Derek!
Easily the best montage on all of the www's. That must have been a marathon editing session.
Well done on a million!
That's what I was thinking, must have taken some time to edit this one!!
Can't thank you enough Derek for the years of fun and entertainment you've brought us. A guy even learned a thing or two about a thing or two along the way.
I want to personally thank you Derek, as well as your amazing family, for all the awesome content, please keep it coming. Lol, some of Jessica's reactions to your antics are priceless 🤣
I’m a 61 year old Pennsylvania resident and have been watching you and your wonderful family share your lives and adventures from the beginning of your journey. I like to think that I am speaking for many a fellow and fellett😊 that you have not only revived many a vehicle, as well as many a treasured memory of wrenching with our father in the garage. Congratulations on your achievement and thank you for reminding us of how America once functioned.
Blessings Derek to you and your family.
You guys are AWESOME!!! My wife and I just laughed through the whole video!! I just have one question Derek.... In all your years of throwing things, have you ever hit something you were not expecting!?? 😁
As I sit here over here in Oregon watching this episode after a day off working at the local Napa,I laugh so many times. I identify with most of the noises a guy makes when standing up or squatting or anything. Thank you so much for the Black going to town flannel I ordered a while back. It works amazing as a PNW Winter Coat.
Appreciate the support
...congrats, Derek.....whoever did the research and editing on this, did a masterful job.....thank you....
You are dead right...taking video...editing...these guys make it look easy.
“Bring The Thunder!” 💥⚡️
Man, it didn't just grow, it flippin' EXPLODED, man! Happy for y'all, and hoping you keep it up as long as y'all are enjoying it (we clearly are, haha)

Whats on the smoker? Or did ya get sucked into this amazing vid like me >.
@@venomhq6794 I got sucked in like you. Good times rewatching Derek's best moments.
My favorite smoker channel commenting on my favorite car channel!
@@brianleonard4989 Small world, huh? LOL
Thanks Derek and Jessica for making the channel , it never gets old!! Cold snacks for everyone 🍻🍻
Derek, I just wanted to say thank you for the nonstop laughs you have brought me over the years of me watching your channel. It’s been rough for me, but you find a way to make a feller laugh and feel better, even got me using your names for parts! Again, thank you for bringing smiles to my face, along with many others. Forever a subscriber.
Could not have said it better myself!
May the Lord continue to richly bless you and your family. Peter, the Pilgrim.
I was waiting for the "vitamins and dinosaurs", "the tool 6000's 5000's etc" and of course the "bring the thunders" I was NOT disappointed lol. Thank you for all the videos man.
We have to appreciate the editing that went into this incredible video
thank you Derek. you taking time to do this for so many of us. we appreciate you. congratulations on the millionth.
I must say that it’s very nice to have a channel like yours. With so much filth everywhere where folks go these days, you guys are a breath of fresh air. Thank you!
Derek, I'm sure I speak for most when I say "thank you" for putting out the best channel on U-tube. Your love of cars, family and country(not necessarily in that order) is inspirational and comforting in these, shall I say, weird times that we are living thru. Thanks again, and congrats on 1 Million subscribers!!
I spit my drink out laughing when you acted like the iron was a race car. Your channel reminds me of working on cars with my dad.. keep up the good work! Great channel.
UA-cam is one of my main sources of entertainment, and this channel has been my favorite for years. Thank you Derrick and Jessica for the content I always look forward to!
How did I miss this when it came out!?! I'm glad I found it, tho!
I tried to recall how many subscribers existed when I joined, and to the best of my recollection, it was about 2000, not that it matters, but it certainly has been fun going along for the ride. ✌🏻
How long ago was that?
I think I was about 80,000
@@verlinswarey507 I am pretty sure it was during 2018-seems like it was summertime because he was installing a lowering kit on a gold colored Chevelle. I watched a budget engine rebuilding episode before the Chevelle. I was working on my first restoration project and was considering doing the engine myself to save money, but I don’t remember if I subscribed at that time-probably did because I did do the engine work. I wish he’d get 20 million subscribers-he’s hilarious, generous and helpful.
That whistle section had me rolling. Love the content the whole family watches your episodes
Derek you are literally one of the best mechanic UA-camrs I’ve ever come across my whole life and you are the one putting in all the hard work and effort into all these videos I don’t see why you thank us we should be thanking you.
Can't be overstated enough, the man is genuinely a highly talented gearhead, knowledgeable in all automotive disciplines. 👍
My Husband is a disabled veteran and we thank you all. A guy has been helping a gal learn to work on my 74 dart and without Derek and the Wiffle to help me out I think I would have given up. My Husband was wondering how I knew so much already, so now we’re both watching.
I love how this pro mechanic acts like a shade tree mechanic that wants to be a pro mechanic.....and your editor must have the patience of a saint...great video as usual.
He is the editor. I’m pretty sure he edits everything himself.
Congrats to Derek and family for the success of the channel. Well done! My personal favorite Derek ism.. "Help me to understand!!" said with just the right amount of exasperation. Something everyone can relate to. I like seeing these vintage cars brought back around. It's good entertainment.
I'm a big fan of " I wonder what (insert random celebrity) is doing".
Oh my god, thank you for the good time watching this. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time and I needed that. Your videos always entertain me, but this one you outdid yourself. So put your whole back into it and keep going. Peace.
Been watching a min, dont know why I'm not subbed. But am now.✌
As a retired for 8 yrs. Auto Mechanic, who worked on all those old cars, I enjoy every one of your video's. Keep of the great work !!!
Your awesome, making my husband laugh all the time. We are so impressed with your common sense and dang experience with fixing up all sorts of autos!
Thanks for teaching your sons and wife first hand… future mechanics in the making!
All the way from Wailuku, Maui… owners of 2010 SS RS Camaro & 2014 Cadillac twin turbo!
Mahalo Nui Loa…. Thank you ver much… Da Guy!!!🤙🤙👍👍👏👏
Congratulations 🥳🥳🥳🥳
It gives me hope to see good things happening to decent people, in a world that seems horrible so often. Congratulations to you an your family, Derek. Y'all have earned it.
yes, i sat down and watched this whole thing
You deserve it. You're an example to get out, do something fun, learn cool stuff, and help take care of the world. making a living while entertaining us is just frosting on the cupcake. Good on you and I hope you're enjoying what you do as much as you can.
Hope after editing all that old footage a guy understands the stuff his “guys” loved. You always deserved it. Cheers.
I've been watching since your first video, I'm so happy that you are still the same fella (maybe even funnier now) that you were back then. Keep up the good work
I had to go back and see the beginnings, out of curiosity. He's really dialed it in over the years.
@@bgee461 oh ya
A guys gotta wonder how hard is to put together compliators like this, love it! Cant wait to see 2 million!
I can't count the times I busted out laughing watching this. What really struck me though was how much work someone put in to put this all together. Thank you, thank you, thank you! this is a treasure.
So much good old stuff! Had me crying laughing, lots of nostalgia
You have made my life on hospice tolerable. CONGRATULATION! Looking for the second million.
Derek concentrate. Your a 10 out a 10 man. Truly my hero, can't say enough about how much I appreciate this channel, your family is lucky to have you and so are we, God bless.
I'm glad you got to a million, I'm not even surprised with how hilarious and intriguing your videos are. There aren't enough people out there saving these old cars.
Man... I respect the amount of work put in this video, that is a heck a lot of editing!! But I have to say, sure as HELL WORTH IT! Loved it, and as always, the fact that you are so real and comfortable on screen makes this channel stand out for me. We can truly see ourselves in you video, and I think that's what makes them so much better. Keep it up Derek and family!!
Derek , you have put a smile on my face at least one day every week. I have to say that there's people I love that aren't that regular at making me happy.
I think you're wife is cute too. Seriously, thanks for sharing your talents. Still my favorite.
I don't know how long this took to put together, but a feller is grateful!! A guy ruptured his spleen, laughing like a hyena. As a mechanic of 35 plus years, I can relate on every level. 😂😂😂 Thank you all for everything you do and all of the countless hours y'all spend creating this solid gold. I can't wait to see the 2 million sub special.
Derek and the VGG crew, I can't tell you how happy I am to see you finally get the recognition that you've always deserved. I've been watching for a long time and I've always been proud to be a subscriber. Never any more proud than I am right now. I'm really happy for you all and I'll continue to watch. Keep up the awesome work brother!
2hrs of greatness. You're doing some good work there, Derek. We all appreciate you and your hard work.
Congratulations, buddy. Taking what you know, your personality and using technology to build a thriving business and a good life for your family. Hats off to you!
2 years ago and I still want more ! Thanks Derek and family !
