Barn Find 1979 Dodge D100 Step Side - Will It Run and Drive Home?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 жов 2024
- I found a pretty rare truck these days, sitting in a pole barn in western Minnesota. It's a 1979 Dodge D100, step side, long box, 4 speed. Adventurer? Macho? Power Wagon? Lil Red? Palomino? Custom? I'm sure I'm missing a dozen. Anyhoo, it was supposedly a forest service truck, then went to the farms once retired. It's been sitting no less than 10 years, but I suspect it's been more than that. Watch me battle this old classic dodge, as I attempt to drive it home!
*This video was filmed summer of 2020. The footage was on a damaged hard drive, and eventually partially recovered.

Wow I didn’t realize this comment became so popular! Thanks everyone for the support. It’s a super clean truck with only 150k original miles on it. 318 short bed 2wd truck. Parts have already been ordered for it. He’d definitely be proud.
Everybody needs an old truck. Your grandfather knew that and gave you his.
Now people will respect you more. People with old trucks are just plain more cool.

Most people have no idea how much ingenuity and talent this guy has. He makes it look way to easy. Course that’s really the mark of anyone that’s good at what they do.
I can't disagree there. But then again who cares what most people think eh? His subs know he's a class act. I'm not even a car guy but I love his channel and his humor and you can see he's a good family man. Ok, enough stroking Derek's ego here lol

24:14 -> Just another example of a really creative camera shot that sets your channel apart from others. Vice Grip Garage is a car channel first and foremost, but it’s so much more than that. You didn’t have to show this shot at all. A sandwich break between two silos on an old truck bed. It shows an appreciation for the simple things in life. There’s an honesty to the scenery. There’s hard work here, an old truck bed that’s made an honest living on a farm built by generations of hardworking people. But nobody discarded it. That tired old truck bed still remains home in 2023. Just like vehicles you save. They’re all stories. The people that used them, the time they’ve traveled, and the lessons they teach us - The lessons they teach the next generation. Keep up the honest hard work. We all love the channel and sometimes we all need to appreciate the simple things in life. Thanks for going the extra mile and showing us This is just one more example of that secret ingredient that makes VGG a special place 👍
