DROP BISCUIT RECIPE
(makes 12 biscuits)
Ingredients:
1 cup ground oats, or oat flour (100g)
1 cup (minus 2 tbps) whole wheat flour or spelt flour (100g)
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup butter (60g)
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated (100g)
1 cup grated carrots (100g)
1 cup buttermilk (240ml)

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the oat flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and garlic powder.
Using the coarse side of a box grater, grate the chilled butter into the dry ingredients. Mix the butter into the dry mixture using a wooden spoon until well incorporated.
Add the grated cheddar cheese and carrots to the bowl. Mix everything together using your hands, ensuring the cheese and carrots are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Gently stir in the cold buttermilk, using a fork. Stir just until a sticky dough forms, being careful not to overmix.
Using an ice cream scoop or a spoon, scoop out 12 equal portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
Once baked, remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool for about 5 minutes.
Serve the drop biscuits warm and enjoy!

Salam, Hello.
I love the concept of your recipes, which is like mine: healthy food+ delicious+ creative ( composition+ taste+ look).
I used to make a similar recipe with eggs and mozarella, more vegetables ( carrot, zucchini, turnip...), less flour and no milk or butter but I will try it your way next time.
Thank you so much for your efforts and beautiful videos, always a pleasure to watch them.
Greetings from Morocco.
Hi there! Thanks for your wonderful feedback! Love the idea of adding more vegetables into the mixtures, it's more like a vegetable fritters, which is also great healthy meal or snack. Go glad you enjoy my videos! Sending back hugs to Morocco!

@@HowToCookSmarter Thank you. Be well.
Love the drop biscuit idea chef they are so versatile , as you were mentioning the ingredient options I was wondering if you would mention a green veg option as that would be a great contrast with the carrots when you said jalapeño and that works perfectly too . Thank you for sharing.
Love the idea of adding something green like jalapenos or scallions into the mixture, or even some fresh herbs. Thanks for your feedback!
Nice!
Very nice recipe chef 👍👌👏. Good for any time of the day, especially in the afternoon with thin slice of salmon yammy 😋. Thank you for your effort 🌞😎

Sasha spelt flour can be whole grain or refined? In our lidl supermarket they sell spelt flour, im not sure to buy or not
Thanks ❤
Wow. These look great! My daughter and I will love them! Can you recommend any substitute for the Buttermilk that would still taste good? I can't do buttermilk.
Get 1 cup of milk, remove 2 tablespoons from it, then add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar or lemon juice
Glad you like the recipe! You can use any type of yogurt instead of buttermilk.
Hi Sasha, can the garlic be omitted and is your cook book a paper back one?
Hi Susan! Sure, you can skip the garlic powder. No, the cookbook you find on my channel is the pdf e-book.
Can i replace the buttermilk with oat milk or almond milk?
U can, just add a little vinegar to it
Can you please share the receipe for healthy cinnamon raisins bread
Hi! I'll put this on my list.
❤
What’s the alternative to butter milk pls ?
Any yogurt will do the work.
Can you show us more healthy air fryer recipes?
Also, mug cakes in an air fryer rather than a microwave
Love the idea of making some more air-fryer recipes, will do some research on that.
Can you use zuchinni instead of carrots?
Sure, that would be just fine.
Not sure what country you live in, but was wondering if these biscuits taste like the Red Lobster Restaurant biscuits in the US? 😋
He’s Croatian.
They do not have red lobsters in Croatia
It wouldn’t taste the same. The texture would be different and it would lack the salty buttery flavor.
Sorry but I never had a chance to try Red Lobster biscuits.
You guys just I just have oat flour is that ok not to add the other flour?
Sure, you can use oat flour only.
@@HowToCookSmarter dang it would’ve been nice if it wasn’t 2 month later but thanks anyway I can finally use this recipe
@@Ttyumbra Sorry about that, just couldn''t make it through all of the comments.
Can you please make this gluten free
Oat or spelt flour would probably work.
oat flour is gluten free.
These seem more like scones than biscuits
Scones, to me, are between a cookie and a biscuit 🤤 Both and everything in between is yum!
