Lucy, this is amazing! So glad you enjoyed the MINI. But we can do better than that. How would you like a trip to Scotland, a film crew and a little advice from our tamed racing driver?
James May is definitely sitting somewhere with a huge smile on his face as he watches this video, just like the rest of us. The display is freaking adorable too.
Except for that part where James, by his OWN admission, does NOT WATCH these videos unless she makes him. He's said as much many times through the years. Not sure how you're confused by that?
Wow, this is just a proof how Lucy is professional and skilled, and her natural shyness is not going to be problem anymore, cause she did everything perfect, from camera works, edits, to presentation. And fact that she even presented how the video is made is so OG, behind cameras work, incorporated with some great b-rolls and close ups, outdoor shots, riding shots, everything is tutto perfetto 👌 Keep on good work Lucy, this is great 👍 ✌️
I really enjoy your "behind the scenes" documentary style. Your smooth transition into the review itself was lovely. It is wonderful to watch your explorations into how videos are made. Shows how very difficult everything James May does really is. Not the least bit interested in buying a new car. But, if I was I'd take a look at the Mini because of your presentation. Suspect I'll think well of them every time I see one on the road now. Well done.
I like the review! It's honest, and fun too that you have a little quick behind the scenes before the actual review. As with the other reviews you've done on travel, you have a very factual type of tone when talking about things, and the neat thing about that is it's easy to see when you genuinely react (positively or negatively) to something. The smiles that that this car induced spoke volumes. Setting yourself apart from the tons and tons of car reviews on UA-cam means touching on things not everyone does or would, like the signal light sound - that's great! It's a little thing, sure, but the reality of owning a car is that all those little things sum up to the whole experience of owning and using it, and if you hate that sound, well, that may find itself on a list of things you don't like about the car. On a sidenote, it made me chuckle because it reminded me of a mid-2000s Ford Focus, which had the weirdest signal light sound I'd ever heard (like... coconuts bonking together). Well, whatever car you end up with, I hope it's enjoyable, still practical and reliable.
As a car review it was excellent! It was informative and to the point with facts and features. The camera work and editing was of a very high standard given you shot it all by yourself, and the end result looked very professional. And definitely buy it, any car that puts a smile on your face when you drive it, is definitely the one you buy!
Nice Job Lucy! You prove time and again that you can do anything.. travel videos, car reviews, eating spam! Great seeing how much more confident you have become over the last couple of years. Keep it up!!
Lucy gives a refreshing perspective that is differant from most car view shows or videos. Most of us purchase and drive a car to get to work, run errands, take kids to school..., Market data reveals that right around the $34,500 mark the buyer begins to "want" certain things and how the car makes us feel from that large investment. I think Lucy's review gives us a more "feelings" review that most of us desire. 95% percent of the world can't afford a high performance super car with a technical sheet of details or features we will never use on a highway with a 65 mph limit. I have had one high performance car that was a disaster to drive in bad weather and was down right torture in a 2 hour freeway backup. Lucy is on the right track for a car review of us "regular" people. Thanks Lucy and let us know if the VW gets replaced!
Your editing is always phenomenal and I absolutely love your delivery. One of the best practical auto reviews I’ve seen in a long time. Down to the indicators, I know if I’d like this car or not, excellent work. Can’t wait to follow your career, you’re going to get more and more spectacular.
Fantastic job Lucy. I love the way you first showed us the set-up regarding how you would break down and film the review and then showed us the actual review. Absolutely amazing - very well done. More please 🙂
Wavy hands seem to go with "presenter territory" but Lucy is nowhere near as bad as some I've seen. Proof: I didn't noticed her wavy hands until you pointed it out. 🙂
Mini should pay you because I'm seriously considering buying one in the future. I was not a car fanatic like my brother, but thanks to him, I got to watch a million episodes of Top Gear. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll watch your car reviews over the unholy trinity. Not because they weren't entertaining but because some of their technical details went over my head. In contrast, I really like your pacing, information, B-roll, graphics, and overall style. Keep up the excellent work!!
That was great! I would think there would be a market for car reviews for non-gearheads. This was well-presented and thought out, but totally accessible to someone who only wants to know how the car felt and what the useful features are. Nicely done!
Loved the video, really liked how you explained setting up the shots and the camera workings, you really know your stuff. And then came the review, and the intro was mind blowing, well done, and you really got down to the nuts and bolts of what people expect from a car. I hope that the dealership was impressed with your review, and that others will take note and allow you to do the same to their cars as well. Though I really love the cheap travel reviews and videos too. Your videos are well put together, fun and interesting to watch, and you seem to grow to become more confident with each one.
Beautiful garden, Lucy. I really enjoyed the "behind the scenes" part before the actual review. Just one bit I thought I would mention -- I have learned how well the common GoPro is with image stabilization. For video inside or outside of a moving vehicle, I'm not sure anything is more stable, perhaps with the exception of massively expensive, enormous things. I'm not familiar with its competitors, but it sure seems that an inexpensive GoPro or similar will give you quite excellent "moving" video shots. Finally, though, of course your production values are absolutely excellent -- the music, the graphics, and the video quality are top-notch. Can't wait for your next video, whatever it might be about!
My opinion, it's a great review video! Not May or Hammond like, which would be wrong for you. I love the more experiential (is that a word...I feel like it should be a word) viewpoint of your review. It makes me think more of how I would feel owning and driving the Mini S. In other words, great job! Thanks Lucy!
Great video, Lucy! Even as someone who knows very little about cars, I found your explanation very clear and engaging. You have a real talent for making complex topics accessible and enjoyable. Keep up the great work! 🎉
Great job Miss Lucy, you knocked it out of the park! I’m from Oklahoma and I retired from the car business in 2011. We were a Nissan dealer with a preowned business called,”Sports & Imports.” Most of these were off lease purchases, including the MINI. We did very well with these and the maintenance were very good. They were a blast to drive! Again, thoroughly enjoyed your video, keep them coming!🏁🇬🇧
Fantastic summary. Very to the point and you cover what is important. Nice one! I owned a Mini one 1.2 Petrol 2016 for 2 years (now belongs to my sister as I moves country) but it was the best car I ever owned. It took me to Cologne in Germany, North Lake district, Belgum and so many other places and it was such a fun car to drive, albeit nowhere near as sporty as this. I can see why so many people love minis so much.
If i did not know that was your first on camera car review I would not have known. Loved it. Thank you for always posting different types of content. Now the BIG question... Will a Mini Cooper S be your next new car?
Loving 🥰 the videos Lucy. There's something about your videos and you have a way that makes you seem awkward or shy like that keeps me really entertained. Keep up the awesome videos!!!
👍always appreciate your bringing us behind the curtains in the process of making these videos! it's interesting to see how much prep work is involved in making quality productions. 🤔as for your review, it's quite well done specially considering this isn't your bread & butter 😉so great job! 👉if I were to nitpick, there were a few moments in your edit where you did jump cuts to the road & windshield views that felt quite abrupt & broke the flow of your review... 🤔perhaps if they were done as some kind of PiP (picture in picture) or perhaps had some fun aspects (like you smiling like a muppet through the windscreen as you step on the gas)? 👋at any rate, looking forward to your next adventure. cheers!
I like that it was a combination of a 'the making of' video and the actual review. Gives a different and fresh perspective, so nice one Lucy. Love the little smile when she gives it some revs, I think that was the moment the car won Lucy over. I'm not sure about the front lights (Still has that "stick up it's bum" look recent Mini's have had), but I do like the rears.
Love it Lucy. Really like all of your content, but I really enjoyed this car review. You’re a natural and I really appreciate your simple, common sense approach. Looking forward to more of this ;)
Loved the video, nice to see a car review by someone who just wants to drive a car from a to b not rip it to bits over things that most normal people would never be bothered about Loved you hiding the smile when you put your foot down
Good job Lucy! And I quite like the new Mini as well....being it is in the BMW family so it's close to home for me as well. :) Not a fan of those seperate screens for the HUD though...better when it's on the windscreen...but that's not the worst of those I've seen. I wouldn't mind seeing more vids like this!
You absolutely need to show James. He has definitely shaped you to being way more confident in front of the camera. P.S. I love the new mini and I think they ruined it with the rear. The Union Jack lights looked fantastic and were iconic. Nothing lasts for ever but it is definitely a brave choice.
The notification for Lucy's video came in at the same time as James May, and Drivetribe. I watched her video first. Edit: Outstanding review of the Mini Cooper S. Hopefully she gets enough subs so she can get one of her own!
Well done. I just wish the manual was still an option. It was the main reason I went with a 2024 Golf R. I loved my previous Mini Cooper S. wanted a JCW for 2024. No no. Electic only here in Canada
Don’t knock the electric as I’ve just picked up a 2020 Mini Cooper S first mini I’ve owned although my wife did have a classic when we met 30 years ago. We both love our cooper SE. Admittedly it’s our second car but still loads of fun. No pops and bangs just very quiet 😊😊We charge it at home and never have a worry about the range.
Your experience shooting car videos is plain to see, fantastic. As for being your first video as the reviewer / presenter.....NAILED IT! Hope to see more in the future.
You did so well Lucy , Loved this! .... I remember when you were so shy just to be on camera that it was hard to get a good take. But now look at you ! :) .... Much love and keep doing what you are doing. x
I thought you did a really good job and I also really like "the making of" part at the beginning. Fascinating to see all the thought and work that goes into what many might think is a relatively easy and simple video.
Well done lucy, great video, and respect for the amount of effort you put into its production. Hopefully going forward, you could take up some of the slack thats been left behind by some of the oldies 😂😂❤❤☮☮✌✌
Nice work Lucy. Really enjoyed the review, I think often people do reviews how they think other people think they should be done, rather than what you did and the review on the things that are important to you. Cheers for the vid
Car review was good! You need your own Lucy signature touch tho.....you've proven to us that you can make the "traditional" travel vlog, and now car review too.....but we want something more unique!! I have faith you can add this as your style and skills evolve. Awesome work!
Hi Lucy! Your car review was excellent, I really liked it. I would have liked to see a shot of what it looks like under the bonnet. Otherwise, keep up the good work! Greetings from Oregon!
Well done Lucy!! Great style and glad to see you getting comfier talking to camera. 😄 “The boot is not the largest .. *Clarkson pause* .. in the world.”
LUCY BROWN! Well done! I love the bts before the review reveal style. I also love the "flush"/frameless treatment on the windows and pillars on the new Mini.
Really good job on the review!! My only nit picks on the car from what i could see are, I'm not a fan of the touch screen just floating there, and it would be nice if the heads up display had all the gauge readouts (temp, oilPSI, fuel, volts) on it as well. I also wonder how comfortable a 6'4" 193cm person would be driving it.
Great first review video. I don’t hate the new lights but, even as an American, loved the more traditional Union Jack taillights. Yes, I know it is basically a German car.
Nicely done, Miss! Your DriveTribe experience has certainly paid off! James, Mike and Richard are somewhere with big, proud smiles on their faces. Congrats! ^_^
Great video Lucy. I wouldn't worry about how a car journalist would review a car. I think you offer a unique perspective on what features are important to you. Cheers.
Great vid Lucy! Personally I hate what Mini have done with the exterior looks, especially the taillights, but the new interior looks light years ahead of the first New Mini 👍
Lucy, this is amazing! So glad you enjoyed the MINI. But we can do better than that. How would you like a trip to Scotland, a film crew and a little advice from our tamed racing driver?

JUNK! James knows NOTHING about cars' mechanic failures. Obviously.
Except for that part where James, by his OWN admission, does NOT WATCH these videos unless she makes him. He's said as much many times through the years. Not sure how you're confused by that?
I was waiting for him to do a cameo holding a camera filming her lol
@@NorthernChev to be fair, James is the least reliable source of information about his life :D
For your first standalone car review, that was pretty great, Lucy. Well done!
"As long as your friends are more Richard Hammond's size than Jeremy Clarkson's size, you'll be okay." Absolute gold.
See a Lucy brown notification. Stop everything and watch it straight away.
You... Me... Same.

I would never buy a Mini, but that is the beauty of choice... you get what you want, not what someone else wants you to have... Great content Lucy

Lucy your review video is very informative and very entertaining, imo you should definitely do more of them. Hello from Ontario, Canada.
Great job! Looks awesome. That center display is insanely cool. I'd go for it!
It's round to mimic the round central speedometer in the original Mini. Germans are great at copying Brits. 🙂
Really good job on the review!! Great vid Lucy! Personally I hate what Mini have done with the exterior looks, especially the taillights, but the new interior looks light years ahead of the first New Mini 👍
Hi Lucy, that was super slick and informative. More car videos please!
Lucy's 1st Solo Car review - 1000th or so professional car review she's been involved in. Not exactly a newbie lol - great review!
