Is it possible to regrow natural hair thanks to finasteride (if we start using the product not so long after they fell)? Also, I wonder if stopping finasteride may damage hair that has been transplanted and permanently damage these follicles... thank you so much!
Hello Dr. I did my hair transplant from turky before 10 months. The first 4 months was so good hair were growing and no hairfall . but from 6th month extreme hair fall started. and it is still now going on. i discussed wth my turkish dr they dont help so much. i am using minoxidle spray and xpecia tablet. i dont know nobody tells me clearly what exactly is the problem.. i feel minoxidil spray is causing my hair fall . but some says minoxidil dont make hair to fall . please i need your help
Hi Dr, Quick question: Can creatine be taken with finasteride? If creatine is known to increase DHT and thus speed up MPB, can finasteride negate these effects? would they be safe to take together? Thank you!
Is finasteride needed after a hair transplant? Hell no! I had a hair transplant at age 54, never lost any hair till age 50, and I’m 63 years old and never took finasteride in my life. I had the hair transplant in 2012 and refused finasteride back then and never lost a hair in 10 years. I refused finasteride because it caused ED, post-finasteride syndrome and is a high risk factor for Peyroines disease (which believe me, you do NOT want. Peyroines disease, though benign, causes ED, bending (up to 180 degrees of the penis), penile shrinkage of length and girth - in ALL cases. And there is NO effective treatment for Peyroines disease. So, say good bye to your sex life with Peyroines disease. All for a little hair? You’ve got to be kidding ! Never take finasteride. It’s poison).
Keep in mind this guy was 54 with no loss till 50, if you're in your twenties your hair loss is much more aggressive and finasteride is a requirement to keep native hair. Side effects are extremely overblown.
@@650tonyd I’d highly recommend a transplant without the Propecia. I’ve known other guys who had hair transplants without Propecia and their hair looked great. They push Propecia on everyone. They tried to push it on me and I never had any problems without it.
The answer is no because you can always get another transplant. The reality is that the DHT will eventually thin out your transplant. Thats why people who dont get on finasteride get multiple transplants. You have to adress the underlying problem.
I have a stage 3 alopecia. I have decent hair follicles. I don't want to use Minoxidil and Finasteride (I used it before it gave me scary heart palpitation) Shall I go for PRP?
Use finasteride, 2% chance of reversible side-effects. I've been in the business 20 years. Maybe once every 8 months I hear about a side-effect. Don't overthink it, you have the answer, trust me.
Another alternative is to take Saw Palmetto. It is a natural DHT blocker that works in the same way Finasteride does It does not work for everybody and it isn't as powerful as Finasteride, but it is definitely worth the try as it a natural alternative that might have lesser side effects to its chemical counterpart.
Joel-“chemical counterpart”. Nice way to negatively describe a repeatedly tested medication. Saw palmetto might be “natural” but can also give sides (a whole host of them), it also works very very poorly.
Just try topical finasteride, at that point you will at least be doing something. Using Saw Palmetto to lower DHT is like using a garden hose to stop a forest fire.
Hello Doctor. I have a question, you said taking finasteride reduces the lose of hair after a Hair transplant are you talking about the native hair's that still exists?? not the Hair Transplanted one's
I've listened to other hair transplant doctors who say that the donor hair from the back is NOT effected by the DHT once transplanted to the top of the head so no need to actually use Minoxidil, etc...to retain the transplant hair.
It is not about the transplanted hair, but the rest of the hair. The balding is going to continue if you dont take medication. You will end up having a strong hairline, and balding in the region next to it
its finasteride who block dht ,,, minoxidil work via a different pathway , therefore its finasteride that should be ignored in that case , and minoxidil used instead
All of you guys out there don’t take anything where side effects outweigh any benefits that you looking to get from it, Try using natural remedies with micro needling if your hair loss isn’t as advance, rosemary oil peppermint oil mixed with a career oil like jojoba oil has been as effective as minoxidil in some cases even more effective for natural dht blockers try using pumpkin seed oil green tea etc there are plenty more options now don’t tell me they don’t work before you try it for yourself and try washing your hair with organic aloe Vera and apple cider vinegar for healthy scalp I can explain more in detail if anybody wants but to be honest don’t go for anything that comes with such side effects and that too comes with life time of commitment when it comes to its usage as a remedy

Same thing happened to me. After 6months began to fall out. I am getting 2nd HT. Going to take meds this time
The short answer is yes. The longer answer is you should be on it for at least a year before you even go in.
what about patient developing tolerance to finax and medicine starts to stop working in few years
that dont happen
