Beautiful Bike.!!! Just bought an 03 1200 100th anniversary sadly the previous owners powder coated the original paint job but I still have the badges.!!! Love the bike can't wait to get on the road and be part of the community.!!
I just aquired the very same bike about three weeks ago. Mine has the two-tone paint scheme. I'm not that keen on the forward controls either but I'm going to use them for a while. When I got mine, there were no baffles in the slip-ons and after an hour on the bike, I found the noise messing with my concentration. I found baffles at JP Cycle on-line and they work well however, the bike acts a little more cold blooded with a few more carb burps before fully warmed up. My last bike was an '85 Iron Head 1000 and although very similar, the extra HP is awesome. I'm probably going to go with a solo seat and a flat chrome rack over the rear fender. I'm diggin the bike.
You need to get the oem seat, with the badge on it, it's a little thicker, stay away from the 03 883 seat though, you're sitting right on the frame at that point and train tracks don't feel so good no more,🤣.
Well, I’m 6’1 32 inch Inseam. I owned a Roadster, That would be the most compact of the sporty’s. lots of taller guys use forward controls. But I’ve seen taller guys prefer the mids… The good news is they’re so customizable you can make it fit for sure. Maybe Andrew will chime in here on the ergos. Thanks for watching!
@@bertsbike thanks very much Sir. Ppl tell me a sportster will be too small and I need a dyna glide but I don’t know….I’m pushing 60 yrs old so I don’t want “too much” bike, but I want to be comfortable on it….maybe some different handle bars and seat could fit the bill Thanks again and hope to hear from your counterpart This bike does have fwd controls
@@T-roy33 I’m just under 5’9 and comfortable with the forward controls - but I’d much prefer mid controls for my size. I’ve heard from lots of guys over 6’ who are happy with a sporty if it’s got forwards.
CAUTION When buying Sportsters, anything 2003 and below DO NOT have motor mounts. Theyre great for cruising the city, but highway speeds will rattle your brain with vibrations and loosen up bolts.
That’s a beauty brother. I’m in love w mine, same bike, black and tan edition. Great condition! Great vid thanks!
No problem! Great bikes IMO Thanks for watching!
Black and Tan edition..?
Great looking machine .
Absolutely!

It’s a super cool bike for sure! I’m with you on the mid controls.

I’m looking at the exact same bike….Curious your height. I’m 6’ 1” and wondering if it will be too small a bike for me?
