Hi Whit! Gorgeous bike. I just got the 03 1200 xl a couple months ago.. and I’m in love!!! So nice to see a lady riding! I live northern IL. Thanks for your content 😎
@@whitmeza @Million Dollar Bogan is going to try to ride his HD 48 up a huge Sand Dune called Big Red in the Austraian Outback .. I just watched the second Episode this Mornting.. Two months ago some one posted that the 48 was for sale .. Danny Hayes got tied up for a couple of Months on a TV Reality show for two months ..
Mine is similar, same year but the 1200. Silver and blue. I absolutely love it, it’s fun to just cruise around on it. I got my niece hooked on being my little riding buddy. I also live in Wisconsin, La Crosse are… the bluffs are so beautiful and it is so fun riding this area. Great video! Cheers!
Oldest son, 20..picked out one of these, his first harley, saw in person and was no mistake, get him off of his early 80s yamahas!! Dad has 05 road king cholo and 2018 street bob, another great bike we are adding to family, God bless you, safe riding.
sportster rider here myself (2010 Iron 883N)! Jackie's moto garage sent me to you and just wanted to support your channel! I just did a ton of work on my bike over the winter (I live in Michigan, so, limited riding season) and am finally back on the saddle. It's been great. I'll definitely check out more content on your channel. Ride safe!
That Denton Moto bike is lovely. Those bars on the hubby’s bike are awesome! You’ve made a great choice in the Sportster and what a lovely model. Loved the story you told, those lakes were beautiful too, thanks for sharing with us Whit!
Just bought one and I didn't even know. In fact, I haven't seen it yet. One of my co-workers needed to sell his immediately, like in the next hour, so he came in the office and shook my hand and said congratulations you are the proud owner of a Sportster 883 anniversary edition with 3200 miles. I said.....Thanks, I didn't know. I own 8 Italian bikes and now....a Sportster. Never rode a Harley before except one time a full dresser for about 300 feet and I thought that I was driving a bulldozer. Let's see why everybody loves them.....😂
I just bought an 03 XL 883R with the orange 100th-anniversary paint. Love it. Sometimes the Road King is just too big and heavy, especially now that I live eastern TN. Riding in the Smoky Mountains is really fun on a Sporty, plus the mid-controls help with the cornering. You got a great deal on that bike. Average price around eastern TN is $3500-ish for a 1999-2010 sporty. You should come ride the dragon if you haven't. 317 turns in 11 miles.
You chose well!! I really liked hearing your thought process for why you picked your bike. I’m taking notes for my next bike. The lake looks so nice, nice scenery to ride around in!
Hi there, I too own an '03 Anniversary Edition Hugger, mine is white with that anniversary edition red & blue iridescence; looks cool when the sunlight hits it. That's some pretty country out there in Wisconsin, especially around the lake. Maybe one day I'll shoot one of my rides around the Jersey shore & show you some of the lesser known places that Snooki, JWow & the Situation haven't ruined for us forever
Sportsters are bulletproof. Little electronics and just a good get up and go. I owned a 2004 883R and took it everywhere and even did a 1,000 mile trip on it. Be safe!
I bought a 2003 xl1200, 100% stock, promised the original owner I'd keep it stock and treat it as well as he did, it's my first Harley, went from a fzr600 to a rf600 to a RC51 to a Sportster, I paid 2,000.
Sportsters are so easy to maintain and make Your own and Evolutions are a great power plant, We have an 11 Xl883 super low. Glad to see a new video today 😃
My first bike was a turquoise Honda 360T, and the T's 6th gear was wonderful on highways. After 15 years as a motor officer, I've had plenty of experience on Harley's, but my personal bike is a 2004 Yamaha V-Star 650 that behaves like a lightweight Road King and is smooth as silk.
Hi whit...found your channel watching BCR. Nice channel and love the video...glad the folks in WI can ride more with the weather. Ride safe and stay healthy.
Hello my dear... I just bought a 2005 XL 883 in blue and I love ... I still haven't ridden it yet...but soon will... I am a newbie a little nervous. One thing I have an issue putting the kick stand down... I am too short 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Avi Rose ahhh!!! That’s so exciting. You’ll get used to it. I still have THE hardest time putting our Fat Boy’s kick stand down. Just takes practice to know where to find it.
@@whitmeza No worries! Here's one I buit up last month with the stripes. It looks amazing and the guy only charges $100 or so. ua-cam.com/video/Od20-3ttKF8/v-deo.html
How does she ride? I hear the sportster and dyna have a death wobble at a certain speed. She's beautiful, though. I'm really jealous of the deal you got for such a great bike. That's probably the best sportster I've seen. I know you've ridden a ton of bikes, how would you compare the Fat Boy and the street glide or road king? I think you said you husband has the Fat Boy. Something about that bike really grabs me.
I love my sporty! I’ve ridden 80mph for endless miles of my iron butt with no issues. Honestly she’s top heavy, but not too bad to manage. The others like fat boy, low rider, heritage are all lower center of gravity I feel but the larger gas tank makes the bikes feel larger.
I have an ‘02 Hugger and love her. Looking to upgrade my headlight to LED. What brand light did you install? I tried installing a Wisamic light but I have a double trim ring and a rubber grommet around the housing and could not get it to fit. Please let me know. Thanks and ride safe!
MotoPappy hopefully but it will be a couple years I think. Once the kids are older to keep themselves occupied without constant supervision. That’s probably best.
Carbureted bikes are the only way to go. I'm 61, have owned over 50 bikes, every single one of them carbureted. I wouldn't even consider owning an EFI bike. To me a motorcycle is a machine, NOT a computer on wheels. I have a 2006 Sportster 1200L that I got for $4500 that had under 7K miles on it. It had a genuine HD windshield on it, which I took off because I don't like windshields. It already had a really nice sounding exhaust. To me the two most important things about Harleys is that they shake and make a wonderful sound. I find smooth quiet bikes totally boring.
Are you sure it's a Hugger? It looks more like a Custom. Unless previous owners replaced the wheels, headlight and handlebars to make it look like the Custom.
Honestly, that's a really good question now that I looked into the difference of the two. My state registration states hugger, so I wonder if it was written wrong.
Great to get to know your Female Motorcycle in this MotoVid of yours. Next, I need to now get to know you better by watching more of your Videos. (smiles) - Angel (Girl Rider from Canada)
Your bike would've reached $4k in Los Angeles, excellent deal. Totally awesome journeys you've done on it too, thanks for sharing! My first bike just recently an '03 883 19k with little TLC needed for $3,800 cash at a dealership, though it does have OG HD Sportster hard saddlebags all in Gunmetal blue. The bike is small and easy getting through traffic, loving it!
