This is truly a great watch. I have it for 2 weeks now and only charged it once. The amount of functions on that thing are amazing. I can definitely recommend this one.
I agree it's a great watch, it's a shame I had to give it back!
This is what I call a review!!! Thx Sir
Stop ✋🏻🤣 thanks
I had the original Pace, (from September 2019) so almost 4 years until it stopped working a couple of weeks ago. I didn't hesitate getting the new Pace 2. Fantastic value and functionality worn all day everyday for multi sport including lots of swimming.
Pace 2 is a phenomenal watch for the price.
Ur sayin the watch broke down by it self or wdym?
great review! straight to the point and easy to understand, thank you!
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching
Great review.. covered most of the important things one looks for.. 👍🏼
Thanks, I try to look at everything I would want to know.
What a great review?!! Thank you for your amazing review!!
Glad it was helpful!
Very thorough review without being too techie and confusing. Nice.
I try to make it not just a spec sheet.
@@chrisguess And you did a great job at it 👌
You are one good honest dude. Happy running.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
I'm amazed at how detailed this review is. You deserve more subscribers! Now I hesitate to buy Garmin Venu SQ after watching this review. If only strava supports Coros -_-
Thanks. The COROS app does connect with Strava. I have only briefly played with the Venu SQ so I can’t speak to the quality of that.
Very good review. This watch replaced an ancient Timex Ironman system with four separate parts. Your video set out things which I could not find elsewhere. Thank you. I wish I could find a list of the rather obscure symbols on the watch face.
Thanks.
You can find a list of the icons here: support.coros.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040254271-Icons-on-the-watch-face or in the app Profile tab> help Center > set up and get started > watch face icons and Widgets > icons on the watch face. Hope that helps 👍🏻
Very useful, just ordered based on youy review - thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Outstanding review!
Thanks
Thank you Chris, much appreciated. Jackie
No worries!
Well done! Clear and thorough!
I am deciding between the Coros Pace 2 or the Coros Apex.
I haven't tried the Apex, looks to be a bit more premium with some extra features. Tough decision!
Great review, thanks for the details.
No problem 👍
Very detail review. Thanx for sharing
No problem
Great review! Already had a Garmin Venu but this makes we wanna switch haha! I thought 20' would be pretty long but ended up watching the whole video. Thank you for the clear and detailed review!
Thanks. I have been interested to try a Venu but I haven't been able to get my hands on one. I try to keep my reviews concise but these devices just do so much it's difficult to squeeze it all in!
Bro !! yours reviews it really help me alot !! thanks very much ..!!
No problem!
Good, clear review. Thanks man
Glad it was helpful!
Bought one. But 6 weeks now waiting for delivery. Hope it gets here soon.
Great video.
That sucks, hope you get it soon. Thanks for watching.
Great review! Thanks!
Thanks
Thank You 😊 got one after watching your Video. 👍🏼
Sweet, hope you like it.
Thanks for the nice review.
Molly Seidel Edition catches my eyes, and decide to get one. I am now waiting for its delivery.
I have a Fenix 5S+ and seldom use its open water feature anymore ( which is the main reason why I purchased Fenix back in the days.) Since I mostly do long runs now , I decide to "downgrade" to Pace 2 for its weight + battery life. At $249 , I don't believe I will regret my decision.
Yes the Molly Seidel edition looks awesome. The battery life is honestly great and don’t underestimate how nice it is to have a super lightweight watch. Hope you like it.
Excellent review
Glad you liked it!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great reviews thanks 👀😉👍
You’re welcome
3:06 - Line detail AAAAAAHHGG, you read my mind.
I know, still it wasn't long ago that almost all running watches looked like complete crap, this is more just preference.
@@chrisguess True that!
Great review
Thanks
Wow,
Brilliant review
Thanks
Great review... you should review more tech stuff Chris. No hype just good info. Thanks
Thanks, I aim to make more videos this year than last so stay tuned.
Cool ... look forward to them
Straightforward yet detailed, a good compromise review. A bit like the watch, so I bought one! Cheers
Glad you liked the video, hope you’re enjoying the watch.
your video help me to decide.. thanks
No sweat
Just made up my mind for me. I was thinking Samsung Watch 4 but its more of a smart watch. I want a runners watch and your review just helped me. Its got what i want. No more! No less! Thanks.
Did you choose the pace 2?
@@AstronauticaX yes. It's got everything I need in a "runners" watch.
Great to hear it helped you. I too have thought about different smart watches and even tried a few, but I think a dedicated running watch is the way to go if you are serious about running.
Hey Chris, about the waterproofing part, 5 atmosphere isn't 50m, it's 40m because you have already 1 atmosphere on the surface of water, it's the breathable atmosphere. After that, on take 1 atmosphere each 10m ☺️
Ah ok that makes sense, thanks.
appreciate going so in-depth, i’m switching over from my Forerunner 245 Music to the Pace 2 due to the battery life and the fact that it is more geared to runners.
Thanks, I keep wondering if I should make the switch but I like having music in the device too, even though it frustrates me no end!
Hello Chris. I just get my Pace 2 like 2 days ago, and still feel lucky that I found this really useful review!
There is one thing still confuses me: the Bluetooth of Pace 2 is always on, right? I just can’t find anywhere to switch it down. Or did I miss something?
I bought this Pace 2, my friend bought the Apex. Get the Pace 2 if you are running or biking or swimming. Only buy Apex if you are doing elevation such as rock climbing, helicopter flying, etc. The Pace 2 has basic elevation anyway for your runs. Get it!!!! I recommend the Pod for it also. Coros Pod ant accessory.
Nothing else that can help me..thanks bro
Looks like my work here is done, thanks.
very good review
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it.
Its my first time stumbled on your video, and your review is amazing.
Some features that still bugging in my mind (and hopefully you can help) does coros have features like body battery, vo2max and recovery time?
Thanks.
Body battery is a Garmin specific measure but VO2 max and recovery time are present.
Good review
Thanks
Hi! From Italy!
In this Coros Pace 2 there's no trail running mode but i saw you can add elevation, ascent and descent to your data screen. So do you think it's a great lack or i can use Outdoor Run mode without any problems?
I'm not interested in vertical speed, but i just need altitude and ascent.
Great Video!
Hi, if your main requirement is elevation then the pace 2 would be a good choice as it has a barometric altimeter. As you suggested you could use the outdoor mode and add the screens you want to see. It will all be recorded in the app regardless.
If they added music to the pace 2 it would be perfect for me. It’s such a large jump in price point to go to the Forerunner 245 music.
I assume its to save battery life which does suffer on the 245 when you run with music. Yeah there is a bit of a price difference, I didn't pay full price for mine so it's worth looking out for discounts they do come up from time to time.
Here in Spain the same €300 price (if you can even find one).
Hi Chris, this is a really helpful review. I have never had a smart watch before so this is my first. Unfortunately I expected a user manual to be included explaining how to work it! I guess everything is online now. Do you know the best place to learn how to work it. For example I wanted it because it measure vo2 max and I can't find where that is. I am a novice runner and have just completed couch to 5k recently.
Hi Jackie, first place that might help you out is my walkthrough of the COROS app: ua-cam.com/video/2EvT0LLnLFI/v-deo.html
After that if you go to the help center in the app under the profile tab (third icon across the bottom) you can get a full user guide there.
Wow what a review!!!!!
Thank you!
Nice video, I thinking of buying a Coros Pace 2. Can you tell me which signals you can get when you have done lap /km?
You get lap time, lap number and overall elapsed time, but you can set activity alerts for pace, cadence, HR and power.
Hi thank you for your great review! Can we set alert for maximum heart rate with coros pace 2? Like, it will vibrate if over certain heart rate.
No problem.
Yes you can do exactly that!
Thank you very much for your detailed review which helped me choosing the Coros compared to the Garmin Forerunner 45. Cheers
No problem, thanks for watching
Great review. Great job. How about testing the amazfit Stratos 3?
Thanks, I would love to test it but no plans at the moment as I can only test what I am able to get hold of by asking for review units which most emails go unanswered or by purchasing myself which I can't afford to do at this stage. I will reach out and see though...
@@chrisguess it's a difficult period. Fully understandable what you said. Keep doing great reviews
Thanks and I will.
Just bought the exact same model (white + nylon) yesterday. (after 12 years with Garmin)
Wow you’re all in, hope you like it
May i know why move from garmin to coros?
May i know why move from garmin to coros?
The min I saw the case AND the strap, I also immediately thought they weren't the same and the matte case is BOUND to get dirty. Maybe they should get together w/ Virgil Abloh and do an OFF WHITE edition? 🙃
Definitely would go for the navy because of it! Good shout.
I just got my coros pace 2. Its a great GPS watch. so easy compare to Garmin instict.
It is good.
awesome video my man :) wanted to get the forerunner 45 but coros came out with this which is much more superior. Though forerunner 245 is still better compared to the pace 2, im more than satisfied with the pace 2 at a lower price
I really like the COROS and would be more than happy to use it as my main watch. The only thing holding me back from making the swap is included music storage, which I know for most people is not a deal breaker and third party app integration, which again might not be a problem for most, the Coros app is excellent.
@@chrisguess Thx for the video and I've been thinking of this very same transition. I have an antiquated 230 (which has served me honourably), and I've been meaning to move up and the 245 was in my sights. I love the Garmin 5 button workflow which I feel is the great set up. I've heard some praise for the Coros 2, but I'm concerned about the Coros app. How is it? And lack of 3rd party integration is a little concerning esp w/ the history I have w/ my Garmin. But I guess I could export the data as CSV and hopefully there's an issue free transfer to Coros. IDK. Or I can just go w/ the Garmin 45. lol Thx again. Ace video.
hi, and what with gpx file? Can you upload map into pace 2?
Hello, how is the button feedback? I have a lot of problems with Garmin buttons and I would like to be sure ..
Buttons on the pace 2 are far more responsive, with a positive click. Garmin buttons are far mushier and vague.
Thanks for your review 🫶🏼
No problem
Hi Chris,
Which one do you prefer garmin 245 or coros pace 2..n your recommend for me if i do badminton alot than running?
That is a difficult question I get asked a lot, I’ve been thinking about doing a video comparison. Neither have native support for badminton, on the Garmin you can create a custom activity but on the coros you will just have to use the cardio activity, that’s not to say this won’t change. If music is not important to you and battery life is then I would go with the Coros, also it’s a bit cheaper. Personally I am still using the 245 music, 1. because music is high on my list of priorities and 2. Because I own the 245 and had to give the Pace 2 back. If I was making the decision now things might be different.
thanks for the info! coros pace 2 supports alerts to stay in a power range during training? thanks!
On the unit I had power alerts were not available, I had to send back the Pace 2 so I can't be 100% sure that this hasn't changed as there was a big update. I have one of their more expensive watches on test now and that does have power alerts.
@@chrisguess Which one is that you have on test now?
Currently testing the COROS Vertix Ice Breaker edition, review coming soon.
that rubber plug for charging port is it included with it ?? cause i didnt see it anywhere
Yeah, got a pair in a little bag.
How abt cycling mode?. Is it good enough data abt it like speed, HR, evalation, avrage speed, cadence n so on?
I’m not a cyclist I’m afraid, not really my area of expertise.
Because of sweat, Whether we cover up the charging port in watch during running??
I tended not to bother and had no issues, but I guess you should as its provided.
I had a watch Fenix 3, 5, 935, 645, Suunto 9 and now polar V (For a whole year, and they are for me the best of all of the above)
I want to try Pace 2... 🙄
Arrow Eugene polar are the best, also polar Flow is awesome
Wow, you have definitely tried more watches than me.
I've yet to try a Polar...
@@yassine4848what polar would you recommend for daily activities tracking just for an average person
can this vibrate to warn you when you hit a particular pace etc? or is it just flashing on screen?
I think so
Awesome. Can it sync a structure workout/training plan from TrainingPeaks?
Yes you can! I haven't tried it however so I can't tell you if its any good.
Thanks, good to know this 👍🏻
It’s actually nice in white
Yeah I like it.
Interesting would be to test two coros, one conected to HR strap via ant, and compare results. Sweat on arm is needed 🤣
That would be interesting
Hu Ytpadyt, my friend and I have tried me with the Coros Pod ant accessory and him without. We had the same distance but I have the 5 additional stats.
Hello friend, I am about to buy a watch that will help me improve my Performance (I am a casual runner 25k to 30k a week) between this coros and the garmin 245, which one do you recommend? I would like to have metrics and training plans that help me reduce my running times, thanks
I compare them in this video ua-cam.com/video/NZA8lybW5_c/v-deo.html
Thanks for the review! Quite complete!!
Only one (small) concern: are you able to set vibration alarms on the watch?
Are you able to do that on the Garmin 245 Music either?
This is quite important to me in order to wake up without disturbing everyone around.
Thanks!!
No problem.
Not sure on this one as I no longer have the watch, sorry.
But depending on which reply you see first you will either already know or are about to find out that you can on the 245.
Great!
Thanks
How much is the battery life in continues GPS use in one full charge. I'm a cyclist BTW so slightly concerned about battery life.
30 hours full GPS and 60 in ultra max mode. I wouldn’t worry about battery life.
Hello sir how are you I am vishnu and I am part time long running lover past years and I fell now I want a running watch but I don't know witch watch I buy for my running I am confused in garming forerunner 55 and coros pace 2 so please clear my doubts and suggest me a best watch for my running please sir waiting for your good reply
Out of those two I would probably go for the pace 2.
do u think the white plastic will really become yellow after like 2 years? u did mention it slightly in the video
I'm not sure it will yellow, more that it will probably pick up dirt easily. Might well be easy to clean though.
Can the elevation be displayed permanently on the screen alongside with time and date? Tx
Yes. You just customize it. I run up hills and mountains all the time and have the elevation screen up + my pace and my kilometers per hour on a single screen. Edit: Remember you may scroll through your customized screens while running.
Pace 2 vs Instinct, which one will be your choice?
That is a tough choice, I haven't tried the Instinct but looking at it on the Garmin site I would like to. I think its Blood Ox and solar charging (Garmin) vs already insane battery and colour screen (Coros). The solar version of the Garmin is a fair bit more expensive than the Coros even while its is on sale. I may go Coros based on the screen and the overall size, the Garmin looks a little chunky for me, but I don't think you would be disappointed with either. Let me know which way you go.
Is the graphic printed on the outside or inside of the glass? Is there any way to remove it without scratching it?
It really makes it look cheap.
I believe it’s on the inside of the glass, but mine was a loner so I can’t check.
That exactly my taught. It's the only thing putting me off buying at the moment. I wish they made at least a grey or dark version of it.
they make a dark navy plus they just released a bunch of new colours
No music is a dealbreaker. Straight up. That shouldn't really be a premium feature, I would imagine that most runners would want the option and that at the very least nobody would object to it. This is a damn shame because otherwise the Coros Pace 2 would be an auto buy for me.
Yep. Fingers crossed for pace 3.
Hi Chris, how can I import GPX file to Coros Pace2? I loaded to Coros App (on iOS) but cant sync or select any course on the watch. Thanks
I'm not sure to be honest, I no longer have the watch to try it out as I had to send it back. I'll have a look and see if I can figure it out...
The Coros Pace 2 does not have any map features. So, you will not be able to use the watch for navigation and/or upload a gpx file to the watch.
You are right, no mapping you got to move up the range for that.
Can we reply the whatsapp notification from the watch? Like the template reply etc
Unfortunately no, I don’t think so. Certainly not on iPhone.
Currently have the 245 and debating the switch, only thing putting me off is coros has a lot less connectivity with other apps
I'm in the same boat to be honest, the battery life is so good it makes the switch quite compelling. You can export a number of different file types from the app to upload wherever else it is you want your data there's just no automation. Strava is there which will suit most people.
@@chrisguess yes indeed but that’s hassle . Lol I think the 245 could be the better watch but ..... a Coros is playing in my mind
Strava, Training Peaks, Final Surge plus 4 others. What other app do you want a Coros watch to connect to?
@@MarkSmith_Best-Athletics Nike Run Club, Spotify.
Coros supports Strava app and its own Coros map app, all more than enough in my opinion for my runs around the world.
Hi, From India except for the music feature, Heart rate sensor, and absence of a trail run, is there anything stopping me from buying the pace 2 over the forerunner 245???
EDIT- Please get back as I am terribly confused to buy which one
I have a comparison which may help: ua-cam.com/video/NZA8lybW5_c/v-deo.html
Also the Pace 2 does have a heart rate monitor.
I am having the same confusion the only difference i see between 245 and this is spo2 not being available and not sure how much that's important and not required.
What did you buy
..would you recommend it for cycling too ..
I don't cycle so I'm not too sure but it does track it.
Good enough for Kipchoge.
Absolutely right, that’s why he’s got his own one: COROS PACE 2 Eliud Kipchoge Limited Edition | Unboxing
ua-cam.com/video/0DQOLVLW0y8/v-deo.html
is the white colorway turns yellow after years?
Not sure I had to send it back.
Do pace 2 have notification alert like ws/ incoming call ? Also featrs find my phone ?
Yes to WA and calls, shown in the review. There is no find my phone feature.
@@chrisguess thanks br0
Which one you recommend better Coros pace 2 or Garmin F 255?
Pace 2 is better value but has no music option. I haven’t tried the F 255 yet.
@@chrisguess thank you
What is the best setting for hiking.
GPS activity mode. It hasn't got a walk or hike mode. I've just read the GPS activity mode tracks distance elevation ect. Thank god.
Choose GPS cardio activity
Switch . Does coros offer their in ext heart rate strap?
I don’t believe so, it’s compatible with others though.
Does the white color become yellow over time ?
I had to give it back so I’m not sure, it was a worry though.
does the pace 2 have cadence function while running.. giving out beep beep sound while u run to match your steps kind?
Not too sure, but you can set alerts for some things like pace, check the listed alerts.
@@chrisguess thanks
Yes it has a beep beep metronome
@@pempefajardo thanks for sharing, may i check is the beep louder than most garmin?
@@pempefajardo thank you 👍
Was wondering is the Coros Pace 2 watch compatible with the Gameboy Colour? 😂🙏🏻
For my version yes as it is the same Color 😭
I've already had garmin 245 music. I don't mind about music. I run 4-5 times a week. Should I changes?
hey, i wanna buy runing watch, what i should choose for trail runing ? garmin 245 or coros pace 2 ?
I wouldn't change unless you are in desperate need for the extended battery life. If you had to choose and you had neither I would recommend the Pace 2 purely for the battery life and cheeper price, but they are both very good.
I would probably go for the pace two unless you need music, its a bit cheeper and has insane battery life. Both good though.
@@chrisguess thank you for your advise.
No problem
Should I get the white color or the navy one ? 😭
Navy
@@chrisguess mannnn, I still don't know what to get i want a watch with music so when I'm not training at school I can use it and not use my phone I was looking at the garmin forerunner 245 with music but idk, I really like the coros pace 2 it looks good with the review its a simple watch which can help me at school and outside school but it doesn't have music 😭 idk what to get 😭 what do you recommend? Great review by the way ‼️
I like it but my GPS keeps saying expired. It's annoying
Oh I’ve not had that. Are you syncing to your phone often enough?
@chrisguess hey! After that post I sent a message to customer service. They suggested I disconnect watch from phone and reset. It worked! I love the watch now😃
Glad you got it sorted ✅
Does it have vo2max?
Yes
You cannot charge it with a regular USB cable and it and COROS say using a fast charger can damage it. That's a No buy for me.
Also the battery can not be replaced and it dies after 2 years for some people. That's a minus.
Can the Bluetooth be turned off the coros pace 2 ??
I don’t think so, I can’t see any way to.
@@chrisguess thanks for your reply, good review of the coros pace 2 , quality watch , I bought it for the strong battery life but think I’ll be going back to Garmin . Garmin just feels like a better eco system and watch build quality for me ,
but why mine does not offer the dust cover for the charging port😂😂😂
I wouldn’t worry about it too much, I didn’t use it much.
Would Coros app be effected by the upcoming US ruling against chinese apps?
Good question, I’m not sure though.
Is the strap changeable?
Yes it has standard quick release pins and takes a 20mm strap.
Watch 3 min...
No elliptical or treadmill workout activities? Thanks for the review!
Treadmill yes (indoor run), elliptical no but they have been adding sports so it could happen.
@@chrisguess thanks, on another YT channel someone said to use the generic cardio profile for elliptical
