Mine even had the brown spots from the shop i got her from :( The ivy is my first plant, i bought 6 plants and i hope you've made a video on each because i'll watch them all! You're great

@@PlantsandLucia You even replied! You're awesome. I saw the video today so i have yet to see if she gets better with your amazing tips but i'm sure she will I have creeping rosemary, a sedum morganianum (i'm worried about it too! they came with very few leaves, they all fell from touch before i got it), a Jacobaea maritima, an Epipremnum aureum and a pansy ( i don't know if the pansy will make it, I don't know what i'm doing wrong but it's the only plant that came unharmed and the only one who's doing so badly) Do you have a discord or a place we can talk to you, I don't know if you're too busy but I'm new to plants and I'm so scared I'm going to kill them, I'm doing my best but I don't think that's enough either way, thank you for everything you do and sorry I wrote all names in Latin, i'm Spanish and don't know most plant's name in English
Lovely video 🤩 I am from England and it grows everywhere literally, and in summer it can be really hot here and it is fine it can handle 35 degrees Celsius no problem, So don’t worry to much about the temperature and it is also fine in winter as well on frosty mornings so I think it is okay in both hot and cold temps, It really is a beautiful plant thank you Lucia I enjoy watching your channel 🌿🙂
I was wondering if the English Ivy could learn to live in water after propagation? Maybe an interesting experiment? Thanks again for a great plant channel.
Hiii! Thank you for your comment ♥️ it's a beautiful plant right? If your English ivy is getting lots of sunlight by your South facing window, I'd recommend you move it so it gets filtered sunlight (they tend to like this better ♥️🥰🌿) let me know how it goes! And sending lots of positive energy to you and your plant 💕
@@sarahdiane24 hi! I mean that it is not direct sunlight on your plant, but filtered by either a curtain or other material 😊 you can also place your plant not so close to the window, so the light does not shine really strongly on her. Hope this is helpful !
Hi! So happy you found the video helpful ☺️! For fertilizer, this year we are using a 1-1-1 vegan fertilizer, and it seems to be working well with this plant :) and we fertilize every 2 weeks (during the growing season).. Just make sure you follow the instructions so you don't over fertilize your plant .. The one we are using says to do it every week, but we are spreading it just to be careful :)
My English Ivy has spider mites! I have some videos suggest high pressure water to wash off the pests but I lost several leaves doing this. Do you have suggestions?

Hi Lucia, thank you so much for all the information. Shall we water this plant from the top sometimes or it is safe to do it always from the bottom. I killed one already so I'm in my second try 🙈
I bought my English ivy from my local garden centre, they had just left it in a pot, it was dry and just crusty, I've put it in houseplant soil, and I've watered it, but the leaves are still becoming crispy, I've checked the roots and there still white and strong, what do I do?
Hello! This is my 2nd English Ivy and it's dying. Beginning to think this is not the plant for me. Should I repot my Ivy in an attempt to save it? The leaves are browning fast. 😔
Hi! Sorry to hear that... Hmm maybe we can try to see what is the root of the problem.. Do you have Instagram? You can send a DM there with a picture of the plant, and let's see if we can figure it out together

Not super highly, but they are prone to them ! There are ways to prevent them though, them you to keep humidity at about 50% around your plant and check the leaves every week or so. You can clean the leaves as well, this will keep your plant clean and healthy ✨ you can find the solution I use here ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/m1hJW9CejSA/v-deo.html
From India. Thanks for the useful info Lucia. My english ivy is getting shriveled after 2 weeks moving it from nursery. Leaves are becoming very soft(not sharp). I am living in a hot place and 1 day I placed my ivy outdoor receiving direct sunlight. I am not sure if that was an issue but I am facing this problem only aftet that. I moved it indoor hanging near a window later where it will receive l bright indirect light. I am watering it only when the soil feels dry. I am not sure why is it happening. How can i save it?
Hi! The English Ivy doesn't like direct sunlight and very hot temperatures.. I think this might have been the problem.. So you can try to put her in a place where it is not too hot and where she receives indirect light (and not too much bright direct light :)) Hope this is helpful!
Hii! The English Ivy is mildly toxic when taken orally. Animals and children may vomit, have diarrhea, or develop neurological conditions. The leaves can cause an allergic skin reaction, if you touch them. In my experience it has been fine when I touch the leaves, but it may also depend on how sensitive your skin is, so using gloves is OK to be careful (if your skin is sensitive to them) ☺️ Hope this helps! 🥰🌿
I live in the mountains and I've had my Ivy in a pot for over 14 years now. It has always been a very healthy plant. Distributed it around, had a few stems in water all over my house as well, change the soil every year but since last year I've noticed that the leaves are becoming smaller and smaller. Now I have a pot full of very tiny leaves. Is my plant dying.... I don't want it to die.... it is a part of my life....
Hi! sorry to read this.. ! How much light does your ivy get at the moment? Also what about watering? How often do you water and what method do you use?
Hi! Sorry to hear that! Is the soil too wet now? How does the plant look now? Maybe if you have Instagram, feel free to send a picture and we can figure it out together.... For now try to give the soil time to dry out (if you can, put it out - - in indirect light, that can help as well).. Another way is to cut the good parts of the plant and propagate into a new one... If this is what you'd like to do, I can tell you how to try it out :)
I’ve been watching your video along with others. What do you mean by the plants needing humidity, but also particularly to this place needing to be in a cooler space. I’m a little confused how to provide both cool/humidity it’s like hot and cold? Can you explain? I’m new to this. Thank you
You can provide humidityin cooler temperatures as well. For example, you can have a plant in a room that is a little colder, but close to other tropical plants (they do something that is called transpiration -- where they produce humidity through their leaves). Another way, is to get a humidifier that has a cool mist (not hot). With the English Ivy, it is not that she needs to be at a super cold temperature, just not in a place that is super warm. Hope this helps!
