This is definitely my favorite video. When I first got started fishing for crappie I would simply pull up to a bridge or stump or visible structure and try to fish it because I was intimidated by open water. After watching this video I was able to locate and position my boat on open water crappie and put some slabs in the boat. Would recommend this video to anyone who is struggling to get off of visible structure and utilize your electronics to land fish.
This is my favorite video because it was like the 5th video I had watched trying to understand how to read my screen. This was the one that actually made it all click. Now I'm much more accurate when tossing my buoy out.
Super, super video. I would have missed that brush pile on side scan. My eyes tend to focus on mainly stuff that shows up in the dark section (water column directly under the boat)) only and miss the stuff further out to the sides....which, I know, is the whole point of side scan. 😁 Easy to understand video. It will help a lot of people.
This is my favorite video because the vid shows me the exact steps to follow to catch crappie. I have the exact setup as you. I find myself really lacking in understanding my mega side imaging to locate brush piles but I spend most time on the water trying to figure out the Helix 7 images and what it is I’m looking at. The steps you show are a great way to help me. Thank you!
This is my favorite video. It’s the video that got me started finding these crappie. Locating them had been a mystery to me until you explained the process. I’m a total newbie to sidescan and crappie in general. This video really kicked off my success in crappie fishing, so thank you!
Not sure if you stay locally but Strm Thurmond is huge and I believe it would make for a new reservoir break dow3, locate and fish. We have huge crappies 14 and 16 inches are common anytime of year. Its just a pain locating them . Would love to see you pro tip it because its very different than most areas. I have used your tips like the Bible and they work great but locating brush piles is very time consuming. I always keep them saved and revisit throughout the year. Majority of the time these crappie are suspended and traveling zones. Hell, a zone video explanation would be awesome too.
This is my favorite video, it’s how I found your channel. I had just gotten into crappie fishing and bought a helix 7. This gave me more relevant instruction than any other video
This is one of my favorite vides because you talk about using side scan and that is primarily what I use to find areas to fish, very helpful in honing my skills
Hey 903Fishing! I’m graduating from the University of Tyler as an electrical engineer in May. My first plan is to purchase a boat and use all the tips I’ve learned from your channel to fish for crappie!
Just wanted to say thank you for showing how you find the brush piles. I finally have a boat and a fish finder is next on the list, so this really helped.
You answered 2 of my questions from 2 Sundays ago with a detailed 20 minute video. And I had my buddy convinced that you said "Timmy" at 13:46 as a shout out. Love you, bro. This is the detail I needed with with my new side scan.
Good explanation of how to use your graph and buoy markers. I also like using the X Marks, the Spot with the buoys. Using 4 buoys. Put a marker in front of the brush pile, and then back. Then go from side to side crisscross when you each other, and you could find the dead center of the brush pile.
Love your videos, it's always a blessing to see someone willing to share their experiences and knowledge with others so that they may enjoy the same. So many today just take and never give, keep up the good work.
It amazes me as to how many good crappie fisherman don’t use any electronics. Many just went straight to livescope. Livescope made me understand my other electronics better, because it forced me to believe what I was looking at. Great video. I just threw away about 10 broken acc rods.
Lol you must be the reason why they breaking. I have never broke an ACC that wasn’t from it being my fault. Stepped on, slammed in door etc. people are rough with rods and expect them to last forever. Thanks for watching! God bless
Great video. I like how you stay off that brush pile so you don’t spook the fish off. I would like to try the slip cork method so it’s helpful to show. Thanks a lot!
Yes sir! Crappie love structure, brushpiles, stumps, lay downs, all that stuff. Now so do bass of course, but they tryin to eat the crappie lol thanks for watching! God bless
This is my favorite video because you done a Great step by step way to use the hummingbird helix 7's to locate brush piles. My tracker has 2 helix 7's. Thanks 903 for all the Great Crappi Videos.!!
Thanks for the lesson on locating and marking brush piles / structures. You make the procedure look simple - that's what I need. Not asking for secrets, but can you tell me what lakes or general area you typically fish? Love the channel.
Yep I like that SI and DI imaging and explaining about them . Got Hook2 I'm gettying ready to install on my Lowe Jon to get ready for this fall . Also looking seriously at the Helix 7 di . May pick one up . Great job .
great video 903, you really helped me specifically today!!!! I need to get a Helix 7 to find those brush tops. Keep it coming, please...and thank you, God bless
I have a few. Not many. They don’t perform well on the channel, and it takes more work to do the clean and cook part! But I do plan on having one soon! Thanks for watching! God bless
Doesn’t mean they are always crappie, but if they are around or on brush, they definitely could be! Hope it helps you out! Thanks for watching! God bless
Great vid. I don’t know if you could make a whole video out of specifically finding the areas where brush piles are located and us placing our own piles in the lake. I am curious if it is points where the lines are or flats that drop off to deeper water. Would appreciate your thoughts.
This is such a good video, I find mysely looking at it more than one time and so I have another question. Is there a debth of a brush pile were driving over as you did that would scare the fish off the brush pile.
We’ll it depends. If the top of the brush pile comes up to 12 feet then I would set my slip cork anywhere from 11-12 feet. Or you can fish deeper on the sides of the pile. Thanks for watching! God bless
Hey brother, I can’t remember if I put it at the end of this video or not. But go to my channel, go to playlist, and then how to playlist. How to rig a slip cork for crappie fishing is on there. Thanks for watching! God bless!
It is on my channel. Go to playlist and click on “how to” playlist. It is there. How to rig a slip cork for crappie fishing. Thanks for watching! God bless

Thanks for tagging me in this video 903 Fishing!
This video is perfect, do you prefer a gold or a bronze 2/0 Aberdeen hook?
I really enjoyed this video. Can you catch fish like this in the fall and winter months? I'm located in Middle TN
Yes sir eagle claw Aberdeen 2/0
Not as much. Our crappie go in the creeks in the winter, not all, but a lot

My man made it so simple to understand. The step by step and how to use each mode totally makes sense. Better than any wired2fish vid lol
I appreciate that brother. Thanks for watching! God bless

Your side scan starts outside of the black. The black is directly under the boat; that’s what down scan is for. Thanks for watching! God bless
I like this guy and his channel. He uses equipment to help not too fish.
Thanks for watching and the support brother. God bless

The best explanation I have seen on how to locate and fish brush piles. Hands down my favorite video you have done.
Great tutorial. I like how strategic you were about finding the brush pile with SI, marking the spot then honing in with DI to get a better view.

This is such a good video, I find mysely looking at it more than one time and so I have another question. Is there a debth of a brush pile were driving over as you did that would scare the fish off the brush pile.
Depends on the time of the year honestly. Usually I don’t fish brush no shallower than 10 feet anyway and it doesn’t affect them
Thanks@@903fishing
Great tips! So if your brush pile is 12 feet deep how many feet do you set your bobber to??
We’ll it depends. If the top of the brush pile comes up to 12 feet then I would set my slip cork anywhere from 11-12 feet. Or you can fish deeper on the sides of the pile. Thanks for watching! God bless
Your videos are always very good. What time frame was this video made relative to the peak spawn? Thanks very much.
