  • Austin shows you how to find and catch crappie using side imaging. This is a very effective tool that will help you get on a lot of fish and can be used year round. It is most effective during the winter months when fish suspend in open water around shad in creek channels.

Thank you another excellent video. I dont fish the area of the lake you fish at all. I fish PB1 to around PB2. I just suck at the electronics. This really helps me out. I will definitely be trying the side imaging more. Thank you again.

Chasing around open water crappie is a PITA. My buddy and I chased down a huge school of crappie a couple of years ago with his livescope, that were following what amounted to a big bait ball of gizzard shad. Couldn't get most of them to even bother with minnows or lures because they had too much easy prey. We would get lucky and pick off a couple here and there on the outside, until we lost them again and had to find them. We did this over and over again for about 7 hours until we couldn't take it anymore despite being a little short of our creel. NO THANKS! We could have done better on the old flooded roads, stumps and bridges I like to fish and it would have been a heck of a lot faster and I probably wouldn't have gotten bronchitis either. They were nice fish though, but damn!

@@TNAROHfan they can be a chore sometimes. It seems the colder the water, they move less because the shad move less too.
