glad it helped 😁 - we love our scamp & if you can get a newer model they have fixed many of the little issues that I talk about in this video. They make a really good quality camper, which is not the case for all RV manufacturers out there so you have to be careful
As usual, great video. Very informative. I love that you actually took measurements. Very very helpful. To me, this video is a true review video. I especially like how you have transformed Dori into your own camper. Did I hear you correctly when you mentioned renting your scamp. To me that would be a scary proposition. But that's me. I wish you nothing but the best in your endeavors. Have fun, stay safe and stay healthy. 😎
It can be hard to get a sense of scale when watching videos- and this camper would not really work for a taller person so I thought measurements were a good idea 😁 we did rent it out a few times when we couldnt go on trips & yes it was scary, but it was a good experience overall- met some very interesting people
I love bolers! When I got interested in fiberglass RVs I was doing all sorts of research on them- so fun 😊 it is amazing how long the fiberglass RVs last when well taken care of
That is great Doug- there is a considerable wait time to get a new one so plan ahead. Looking for a used one can take some time as well - we looked for several years before finding this one, but you never know what might come up if you look into it 👍
hi Laura, thank you very much for sharing this video, we got a 1984 . 16” scamp . We are in remodeling process now , but so far we could not find the window up the sink, our window cut size is :12x18.5. If this is your window size? Can you tell where you got your windows up the sink? Thank you again and hope you will read this message soon.
Hi Hector- we took our RV share listing down as I dont think we are going to rent out the camper this year. We didnt get to use it much last year & are hoping we can fit more trips in this season...but there are lots of great campers on RVshare and Outdoorsy
we looked for years for a used Scamp that was in our budget & had the layout we wanted and one day this popped up on Craigslist and we scrambled to go see it. They are hard to find used because people tend to hold onto them, but we got lucky!
we have never had the opportunity to weigh it- we do our best to keep the weight low & not pack too much so it is easy on the jeep- we don't travel with full tanks. Hopefully we can take it to s scale one day & I will let you know 👍
RV share does the insurance for you- it is really very easy and well organized through the website- as the owner you just go through some paperwork during the pick up and drop off process with the renter...I hope to put together a video with more details about the rental process in the next few weeks 👍
You are correct about bleeding the propane line. Lighting up the burners should be done before turning on the water heater, furnace or refrigerator.
that is an important tip for new RV owners because it is something you may not otherwise think of 👍
Tha best explanation of Scamp #6 layout. Thank you.
Thanks Deborah- that layout 6 is great!
I am considering purchasing a Scamp, This video is SO helpful!

This is so helpful. We just got our Scamp 13' a month ago and we're trying to figure out how to make it work for us. Good ideas!
Thats exciting Brooke! I find it really fun figuring out how to get things just how you need them - enjoy your Scamp!
Good luck with the rental, nice idea! I love what you did inside. It looks like you had fun making it your own.
Thanks Dee! the quarantine time let us put some extra work into the Scamp & we enjoyed the project
Great idea about the cargo net and pool noodle
thanks Richard- we are always looking for ways to make the Scamp more organized 😁

👍👌🇨🇦❤, gr8 video, I inherited my family's 1977 Boler fiberglass TT back in 1997, absolutley love them, Scamp is her sister

Surely worth the wait, and you'll have it for 20 years, if not longer!
@@hankvinson5967 hopefully 😊 thank you.

Very nice.
Thanks Kathy!
Does the bed area convert to a dinette as well ? Thanks
yes it does- the main bed can turn into a table/ sitting area but we never do that and the side table drops down to a narrow bed
Gracias por compartir.
Saludos ✌️😁
Thanks for watching Jorge!
You should upgrade your shower head to the kind that uses air to help create more pressure like the one by Oxygenics. Big difference!
I bought one but I liked the original shower head so much I never installed the Oxygenics. Mine is the same as the one in the Scamp.
I was just thinking about that! that may be one of the new items on the to do list
Congrats on your better-than-new finished product. Only problem is that it is too good to be a rental.
Thanks Larry - we are really happy with the update!
I could get any info on the site to rent your scamp😕 the link sends me to a video but not the site

What type of car or truck do you use to pull the scamp . Do you know the weight of the camper and the weight on your hitch .
we have a jeep cherokee and the dry weight of the Scamp is about 1700lbs depending on the trip package
Why 2012? Loved it

@@LetNewAdventuresBegin Very nice we have 14 ft Geo Pro we love it! Congrats...
Well, you just helped me decide that a scamp isn't for us. I'm 6'3" and won't fit on that bed!
It would be tough for you! sorry about that...but hopefully you can find a camper you will feel more comfortable in 👍
@@LetNewAdventuresBegin we are trying. Thx!
Any idea what the trailer weight is loaded?

Is the bed stationary or does it break down from like a couch?
it can transform into another dinette, but we have never done that (except to clean under there) because we already have a place to sit 😁
I think there's probably a screw to secure the crank in your roof vent 😊
