we like the Casita- very similar to Scamp but a bit heavier so we couldnt pull with the jeep cherokee. We would love to do a factory tour in the future- sounds like a fun experience for RV people!
we are working on making a video detailing the pros/cons of having the Scamp. It is a great little camper and we really love it, but like all things there are some great features and some features that we dont love (like the awning) - that video will be coming out soon!
I would not recommend using a black hose to fill the fresh water tank, especially since it may not be rated for drinking water. In the RV world black and orange hoses are typically associated with the black tank flush hookup or wand. Blue and white drinking water approved hoses are associated with the fresh water tank and city water hookup. If your renters are experienced RVers they may be confused. I also carry a supply of spare washers for the hoses and water attachments.
very good point- we dont actually drink or cook with the water that goes through the Scamp tanks (we use a Berkey filter for that) but the renter might -so better to have a true freshwater hose. Good idea keeping spare washers- I will add that to our shoe box of little "quick fix" items
Thank you for the mention in your last video, unexpected and very kind. My husband and I look forward to your posts having followed you since your Belize trip. You've grown in so many ways I can't even keep up with. I've been more inspired to do yoga, as well. Thank you for continuing to share your life with us!
Thank you for your support 😊 It is amazing that you have been watching since Belize- we had just moved into the tiny house the year before, purchased a camera, Patrick got a passport and we went on our first big trip together & decided to film it...we had no idea what we were doing, but we had a great time 😂 thanks for following along with us and it makes me so happy that you are practicing yoga 😊💪
Do you know what tje tongue weight and trailer weight dry? If you do know I'd be so grateful if you could share that information! I have a a 2019 Subaru Outback with a 3.6R engine. I'm wondering if it could pull the 16'? We're seniors and both disabled and this looks like the perfect thing for us of my car will pull it, I know the tongue weight limit is 200 lb. I like the remodel you've done on yours very pretty! Where are you (not exact location) , how much do you charge to rent it? I'd be interested. It would give is a chance to get a feel for it! I'd leave the bed down all the time and just sit at the dinette!!! Adorable little trailer you've got there!!! Thanks for sharing! Brightest Blessings💜💙🙏💙
It is just under 200lb tongue weight and 1700lbs dry weight. I am not sure if a Subaru can handle the 16 foot as we were looking at getting a subaru (I love them- that was my last car) but the tow capacity is not great. You may be able to pull a 13' though! We are located in Southern New Jersey- but we are done renting out the camper for the season & at this point we are not sure what our plans are for next year- but check out RVshare and you may find a camper near you to try out. It really is a great way to try one before you purchase to make sure it is the right one for you!
Hi LOVE Your channel..... I am not very tech savvy but I thought of you immediately after seeing a page on Facebook. * SO YUMMY * from August 24 and * GO RVing* they had some great ideas !! Also I'm enjoying your Yoga channel !
best place to see the different layout options would be the Scamp website- we did a video in Lancaster PA showing our process for emptying the tanks and doing a full flush at the end of a trip
I am not sure- it was installed by the first owner...but it is not really our favorite part of the camper, we are actually going to take it off next season & replace it with something easier to work with
Hi Emily- we dont usually move the trailer with the tanks full & we dont put a ton of stuff in the camper just to be careful with the weight. The Jeep does fine with it - but it is not the most ideal tow vehicle so we try not to put excess strain on it if we can avoid it
I'm going to have to disagree with the previous owner about only turning on one propane tank at a time. The whole idea behind the automatic switchover system is to allow every propane device to continue operating when the first tank is empty. For that to work, you need to have both propane bottle valves open. Just check for the red flag every so often so you can fill that bottle once it's empty. Unless you're running the furnace 24/7 propane should last for a long time.
they told us that because they were camping in a really cold spot and the 2nd tank ran out in the middle of the night 😬 we put the tank gauges on so we can keep close tabs on them so we shouldnt run into that problem...but I dont mess around when it comes to staying warm 😊🔥
Your Scamp is very similar to Casita. Casita's are made just South of Dallas TX in Rice. I've visited the factory, they are very special

Really like the scamp travel trailers. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, we love our Scamp- we are working on a video of all the good/bad aspects of the scamp
That awning is a workout
it really is 💪
It reminds me of a boat in that there are so many things that can go wrong. Sometimes we never left the dock.
oh so true 😂 always something to fix or work on

Where does one empty the black tank at? Also looking for a video that shows the different 16 ft layouts

What is the name/brand for the awning? We are interested in it for our school bus conversion. Thanks
