Wow, a video that actually is concise and gets right to the point. Practically unheard of nowadays with stupid intros, and unnecessarily long videos for monetization. 😊

Car Newbie here. Mine popped up system 1 and 2. I found out I had low low oil so I assume it was that. Did an oil change. Sounds smoother again. Do I need to reset the code ? Or will the code go away when the right part is fixed ? I know that should be self explanatory but rookie here.

Is there a part number for the spool?

I already replace the whole assembly and code P3497 keeps popping on a while after. I noticed oil slug in the engine. Whay should I do ? Engine flush? Engine has 230k miles is a 2010 odyssey EXL v6 3.5

Having the same issue, you ever figure it out?

@@trawk244 yes I removed the oil pressure switch and cleaned it with brake cleaner. But the best thing to do is to replace it. I didn't because I replaced the whole assembly not too long ago.

@@trawk244 also you should start by changing oil if is in bad condition. My problem was a convination or low oil and sludge then I replaced and cleaned the oil pressure switch and screens . If you do that you have to replace o rings that's what I did. Hope it helps you

@@antonymontana936 I need to try your option. I changed the VVT, changed the oil and I kept getting the 3497. Although it may sound crazy, I am now changing the oxygen sensors and believe it has something to do with it. I am also getting misfiring codes on 4 and 5, the closest sparks to the VVT. I think all of this is affecting the VVT into keep giving me the 3497. I hope all this go away. I also discovered Autozone sold me the NGK 97390 sparks as "pre-gauged" (.040 gap) when my 2008 V6 3.5 gaps to (.044). That´s why I am also getting a Random Misfiring code. Hope this helps. Although 3497 should be an "oil thing", wrong sparks and faulty sensors mixing can "fool" the rest of the components. That´s my personal opinion. Hope it helps.
