i guess people like entertainment than anything. look at 1rod guy (800k subs). he's loud and does stupid shit like jumping into a frozen pond to show you....? anyway, entertainment

TacticalBassin Matt, I cannot begin to thank you enough for all that you and Tim do, to educate us all. You share all of your tips with us, as well as gear recommendations, and a plethora of your knowledge, and experience. Which is absolutely priceless. You guys have a way of explaining things, in a way that others, are either too "Elite" to do, or just too damn lazy. Your name, Tactical Bassin, is what originally drew me to your channel, (me being former military, I was like "oh, tactical, alright) but you guys actually do things in a tactical manner. Figuring out why a certain part of the equation, gives you a certain result. And changing this gives you this result. Ect., ect. Which, I'm sure, is a huge reason why you guys are able to pattern, target, and catch the fish the way that you do. Well, that, and your relentless dedication, of course. I have learned a lot from you guys. And, I used to think that I was a very well rounded bass angler. So on behalf of myself, and the rest of your loyal subscribers, I want to say thank you.

I gotta agree with the last comment i was almost to the point of not riggin it at all because of miss-information i have been studying. Matt really gets into all kinds of rigging options. Man i love how you guys get real passionate about how to fish differently than everyone else. Really appreciate the videos.

Finally caught a bass today after this terrible fall transition. I was at Cabela's today looking at swimbaits, and I had a thought that was, I really need something to stand out with all of these minnow Bait fish. And it hit me. An Alabama Rig. I mean it is fall transition and they are tearing up minnows, I can't get them to attack any of my baits, so I decided to give them what they want. I bought the Junior that is the first one you show in this video, got the Strike King starter pack with lead heads and swimbaits, hit the water fourth cast got a 3 pounder. But, now thanks to you again, I will now tweak it to make it even better. And it just so happens that Tennessee has a three hook law. Thank you so much Matt Allen and Tim little. I've never fished on a boat, and I would love to fish with you. Chattanooga Tennessee

Thank you so much for this vid. I just started using an A-rig last year. I have several different types. Blades, no blades, 5 bait, 3 bait, 1 bait......Now I can really start fishing them a lot more efficiently.

NICE! The whole lighter rod deal makes total sense now. I use to use a jig rod but had a a-rig rod made (its an 8 footer and stiffer) and I felt like I had better hook up ratio than I do now. Also the explanation with the fish coming up on the rig and displacing water. Mind blown. Learn something new everyday.
    Great info.

So I tend to leave or replace the snaps, and my philosophy is that if I do get snagged, I can pull really hard and I'll only loose 1 bait instead of the whole rig $2-$3 instead of $30+. Great video, I definitely learned something new about different setups, keep the great content coming!

Talk about the leader, the length of the leader, the knot from the leader to the braid, the plus/minus of flouro/mono, the knot going through the line guides as you cast, how often to re-tie the leader to the main line. Thank you, very informative tutorial. Keep it up!

The drawing power of the a-rig is crazy. Very rarely is it pursued by a single Bass for long. I'm fortunate to have very clear water at times and get to see a lot of what's going on down there. They're a lot like seagulls feeding. It may start out with one follower then suddenly turns into multiple followers. When I get a wash or a wash-wash, it's pause pump and a slight change of direction and fish or fish(s) on 90% of the time.
There is so much a-rig pressure on my waters nowadays it's really important to continually mimic a flashy school with the exception of winter fish.
I got to say though it's not my favorite way to fish. For me it's much more satisfying catching a big fish on a single lure/bait. Even if it's a damn Wacky Worm lol...

Great video thanks!! For A-Rig storage I've installed a split ring around all the wires just behind the main head. When I want to collapse the rig just squeeze the wires together and slide the split ring down. Does the same as the plastic disk you showed but it's always there, you don't have to find it in your tackle box.

Keep these videos coming!!! I love how you link in the items you use and recommend! It makes it easy for me to put a list together when I want to try something new and different than my go to confidence baits.

Great video, Matt speaks the truth just started A-rig fishing late November last year and all the fish I have caught have been on the bottom or middle hooks. And yes the Yumbrella is strong, accidentally snagged a 40# spoonbill with it and it brought it in and I didn’t even upgrade anything (spoonbill got released and was fine can’t fish for them with barbed hooks). But I broke my first wire this past weekend, it probably caught 100 fish or more. Plan on still using it as a 4 wire rig, I’m cheap.

I finally broke down and bought my first Alabama rigs the other day I haven't fished them yet so this video has been very informative for me I went with the umbrella ultralight so we'll see how that works out for me I fish a lot of smaller Waters out of the boat I didn't think I needed a great big one and I kind of thought the smaller arig might be a little easier for me to start with I do have a dedicated rod and reel that I bought for this setup also so I'm really looking forward to it I'm curious to see if it really does turn zeros into heroes like everyone talks about LOL I have no doubt it's going to catch fish and big fish but I don't think it's quite as magical as everyone kind of makes it out to be we shall see.

Great video Matt! I've been throwing the Yum pulse minnow in the pearl blue color..3,5's on the top and 4,5's on the bottom. Using 3 of your swim bait heads on the bottom baits and cps on the top. Give them a try and at $3 a pack its very affordable. I throw my A-rig like a spinner-bait with this rig. Hope you give it a try!

If you don't have an 8 foot long rod sleeve, you can use a short length of velco strap and wrap around the wires to hold them together. Or even that lure holder folder.
