i have been a subscriber for some time now and have always found your vids informative and useful. This vid is completely different though. Not only informative and useful, but also uplifting and powerful. to hear three adult, super successful men discussing their faith so honestly and with such humility is incredible. This has been a very challenging year for me in so many ways. I was brought here today to hear the message you gents were sending...And i heard that message loud and clear. Thank you so much. Sometimes we just need a swift kick in the ass to be reminded of the Glory of God. A fan of BassFishingHQ for life! God bless you and your families!
So much respect....!! You all stand up for our Lord Jesus....so wonderful ! I am a northern fly fisherman. I am going to try this bait on my fly rod....no weight....should have lots of free movement.....will find out... No tournaments, just fish for fun. Thanks for the great video!! All the best just jim
Great info. Thanks to an 81 year old man I met in WV I've been crushing bass and other species from shore with Kalins darter jigs and shad split tail power bait minnows since 2015.
The good & bad: I began using this method just yesterday with a strike king rage swimmer. Caught my first largemouth with it in no time. Moments later, I hooked a bass I can only describe as HEAVY. And I'm embarrassed to say, the largemouth made a sudden run and snapped my 8 lb fluoro before I could react. Adjustments will be made.
So weird how these trends go. Been fishing this thing for years and so have all the people around me. Add front facing sonar and boom now it has a name.
Great video. The damiki rig actually was invented on my home lake about 30 yrs ago or so. It was a big secret for a long time here in the winter. The secret finally got out and 3b outdoors done a video on it and it spread like wildfire. Now here at my home lake (South Holston Lake) in East Tennessee come late November through March our boat ramps will be full and if you get there to late in the morning you want find a parking spot. The smallmouth in the last few years seems almost like they have gotten wise to dropping on them so we have to use ff sonar and throw to them just like he was talking about. Dropping straight down on them like we used to do for years well they will come up look at it and then swim away fast. Thank s for the video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Tight lines to ya!
Nothing much is ever really new… it looks like what we were doing back when gulp minnows first came out. I wore out smallies on pickwick and Wilson throwing the 3” smelt ones on little ball heads. The heads were a little different and not real flexible plastics like elaztech I guess, but the same thing basically. Kinda got out of doing it lately for some reason. Don’t know why, because it sure didn’t stop working. Lol
Hey Tyler I love your channel! Especially since you are one of the only ones I’ve found who understands what fishing is like here I. Central Ohio. If possible could you address tips and tactics for those of us that are bound to fishing from the shore. I’m saving up for a kayak but will probably never be able to afford a full boat. Thanks
Cool. In South Korea we use a jighead that usually has a small head size with the weight spread out shape(1/32~1/16oz) and a 3 inch fluke or minnow bait.(Zoom tiny fluke mostly) It's mostly used by bank anglers for like... 10~15 years maybe? I'm not sure. It's an old technique. We, like you said, tickle wind it. We call it "mid-strolling", bc the bait looks like it's strolling in the mid-tier of the water. UL~ML spinning tackle. It's interesting to see a similar technique but a bit heavier version for boat fishing.
I watched Joey hammer them at eufaula in his youtube channel. I visited eufaula the week after the opens tournament and that body of water is truly a difficult place to figure for most anglers. There's a ton of variations of this technique right now. Core tackle has there TUSH and hover rig jig heads on the market right now. Jacob wheeler is throwing a version of this and winning tournaments. You can find videos a year old on the hover rig which tell me the technique is at least a few years old. It's truly a different cool approach.
I love the faith message guys. I am totally on board with you guys. I just want to encourage you to continue spreading the good news. I really enjoy all the information.
Sounds similar to the way you fish hair jigs for smallmouth here in Wisconsin. Just a smooth even crank that keeps the jig moving level, no wiggle, no pop, no depth changes.
Was interested until mention live scope and didn’t talk about how to fish it without live scope. I am a co-angular 100% of the time and don’t have a live scope at the back of the boat. That needs to be a question always asked, how do you fish this without live scope especially when to know to speed up the retrieve to trigger the hit when can’t see it what is happening.
Thanks Ty always dropping the juice. FF sonar isn't in my future unless I win one or win the Lottery. 😊 But that won't stop me from using the technique for catching some fish.
This is basically how I fish my crappie rig, tightlining, but I usually do two micro jigs with minnow style plastics. No fancy front facing stuff though. Maybe some day
I was really enjoying the video - then y'all made it even better by openly talking about your faith and walk with God. I appreciate that a lot and I appreciate you sharing things to help me catch more fish! I mostly creek fish but also lake fish some.
I just signed with you I learned slot from shows!!!! I have started to do small tournaments in upper NY state!! Having good time! I'm starting to get in it more !! I am 71years I thought I was good enough !its fun learning what I didn't know!
All three of you guys are awesome! Some people don't appreciate or understand that God and our relationship with him is the most important. God bless and keep the awesome videos coming.
Have any of you tried holding your index finger out while you’re reeling letting the line brush your finger as it passes by. This is the preferred technique using a Panther Martin inline spinner.
Had no idea that this was becoming so popular in pro bass fishing, but this is basically crappie fishing with bigger jigs. I do it all the time and thankfully bass fisherman still haven't perfected it. Nothing to special about it
Thanks for sharing ALL of it.For those who don't want to hear about the Lord .You have freewill to listen or turn it off, it doesn't change the fact that God loves you!!
now a days, prefishing consists of running around the lake staring at their FFS, keeping way points.. no fishing. Tourney day they run through their way points, don't make a cast til they see a fish.
Its about diameter not pound strength - been fishing that way for some years now - I flyfish as well as spin and baitcast, so it is a bigger deal in that world to fish by diameter not pound strength. His 14 pound looked like .011 so that is about the same as many other 10 pound lines so it is not going to run stiffer like typical 14 pound test. I will use a Rio 3x at about 9 pound test with uni to uni to my braid - it is .008 and as I fish a great deal, know that this is true 9 pound test - so if I translate to most bass line used, it is 6 pound diameter (.008). So in effect I have 9 pound test with the same diameter and suppleness as most bass guys fishing 6 pound test - I believe it gives me an advantage. I take things from bass world to my fly game and fly game to my bass power fishing - it helps to take from both! Pencil me a very old guy fishing many, many years now and yes, I saw the light with braid some years ago and run it on everything - my dropshot setup is 10 pound braid to a very long 3x leader (12 feet to micro swivel - that also lets me go 3 or 4 feet below the swivel with various line sizes as I feel I need thinner line). The ironic thing is that in fly fishing world I most often fish a “euro rod” with a mono rig set up (all mono with fluro micro leader).
This isn't true...when theres 100 boats on the water ALL WITH FFS and 10s of thousands of electronics on EVERY BOAT... Does it help, ABSOLUTELY! Would someone with electronics win over someone without, 99 out of 100 times! But when every boat in a tournament has it, that's not what wins. The location and the bait you choose, the action used, and old lady luck wins tournaments!
Yeah it definitely takes the fun out of fishing. I tried it and was catching fish but it just didn’t feel right when ik where the fish are. I put it down and picked my under spin back up with no electronics and started having a lot more fun
Does anyone know if the Deep Dive app is available in Canada? When I click on the Apple Store version a blank screen comes up. Don’t know if that’s because it’s not available or if that’s just me having technical difficulties lol.
I bought some beast coast flick minnows, rapala freeloaders and jig screw lock jig heads but I dont have Forward Facing Sonar. Am I wasting my time. Last year I marked fish suspended and wanted to try this.
I see this rig and the hover juggle catching tons of fish, but seems like most as using FFS to target those fish then using this finesse technique to catch them. For those without Livescope, how do you best utilize these to catch fish fan casting? Or is that wasted time and something like a jerkbait would be better?
I know this will piss u guys off but I'd love to see them band electronic s oh my! would it be so much harder to catch I can't even do as well with out depth read out its crazy but awesome vid u guys are very engaging !!! learned a ton thank you so much I think I'm going to buy sum live scope lol🤣👍👊
Thanks for bringing up your faith! Jesus will return! All the signs are here and it's great to be able to feel God's spirit while watching a video on fishing!
Just for all you people who think this young man can't fish because he used forward facing sonar. He had his own fishing TV show called Sweetwater before forward facing sonar was a concept. What you guys against forward facing sonar don't understand is you might catch 5 out of 50 fish you see you still have get the fish to bite that where the skill to read fish comes in. It's not a cakewalk like some people seem to think . The only problem I have with it is the price, which is ridiculous .
Yup too many idiots writing off forward facing sonar without ever using it. It takes skills and knowledge to be successful with forward facing sonar. If it was as easy as some of these idiots claim then everyone would be winning tournaments.
Oh, he's jacklighting the fish. Now I get it. And pretending that rig is new for snook? We used jigs and small soft plastics for snook 30 years ago and before, especially under docks at night but anytime.
If i cast and reel a lindy rig insted of drifting the bottom with it does that change the name of the rig. Or what if i use ff sonar with the lindy rig does that change the name also.
Man this is an awesome interview. Hearing him talk about God is great. I cant tell you how many times I have been in the presence of God in my Truck worshipping and praying on the way to work, and then have to go in to hear guys talking about prostitutes and dog fights etc etc after a weekend. He gets to go to work, pray for the event and share with people (and has been asked to do it). Im always willing to share, but that doesnt mean someone wants to hear it. Anyhow, I enjoyed this one.
Not surprising really. Lots of us been killing it with various swim baits for years. Once they get to about 1.5-2 pounds like 90% of their diet is smaller fish 💁🏻♂️

You nailed it. These fellas are such an asset for us little guys!
My PBs all came when I was targeting crappie. Especially on pressured bass, little two inch crappie jig always work
I really enjoyed the whole video. So much respect for being up front and personal about your faith.

That baby bass color and pattern on the trailer has caught me so much bass. Dang bass are canabalistic

Pretty similar to what they we call mid-strolling in Japan and Korea. It has been super popular for like a decade.
Great video! I picked up a few things from this! Thanks for talking about your faith and sharing that. Great stuff!
So weird how these trends go. Been fishing this thing for years and so have all the people around me. Add front facing sonar and boom now it has a name.
Making a priority on Sundays, using the platform to spread the good news, this is why I love these guys. Thank you for this
Awesome, but the best part is around the 35 min mark. Absolutely love the fact of sharing the Lord and what blessings he has given.
live scope seems a must for bass fishing now. I think we should focusing on developing electronic rather than on the bait.

Who was interviewed. I didn’t see his name. Great guy - glad to see his success.

Great podcast, lots of helpful information and Joey Fishing got a new subscriber! 👍🏻🇺🇸🎣
This is great! I am a huge fan of the fluke. I will definitely try this. Thanks guys.
Tyler,
In my opinion you definitely provide the best content!
God Bless

This looks like a Northland Tackle Mini-minnow. So I'm already on it!
😂 that guy said "you become a shooter instead of a fisherman in many ways" 😂 is probably why electronics shouldn't be in fishermen's tournaments! !
I just signed with you I learned slot from shows!!!! I have started to do small tournaments in upper NY state!! Having good time! I'm starting to get in it more !! I am 71years I thought I was good enough !its fun learning what I didn't know!

Men of Faith! LOVE THIS. :)
St Joey of Nedminster Abby preachn for the common man. Love this.
You forget to mention that these guys have forward facing sonar to help them with the technique as well. That's one very important factor missing.
FFS is what's winning all the tournaments...doesn't matter what bait it is, when you can put the bait on their nose
Rewatching again, worth the time.
Been doing research on this exact tech. Thanks, perfect timing
Thanks for sharing ALL of it.For those who don't want to hear about the Lord .You have freewill to listen or turn it off, it doesn't change the fact that God loves you!!
I’ve won tournaments with this set up about 5 years ago but different heads and minnows
Love watching you Tyler
Will this work in the dirty stained water of the Tennessee rivers like the French Broad.. would I need a darker bait?
Thanks for talking about your faith.
Was interested until he mentioned forward facing sonar 🤷♂️
Never get with the times. The times say a lot of crazy things lol. But yea this is dominant but mostly paired with FFS
@@kurtzimm I get it… I’m just not interested in video gaming fishing
now a days, prefishing consists of running around the lake staring at their FFS, keeping way points.. no fishing. Tourney day they run through their way points, don't make a cast til they see a fish.
Yeap that killed it for me!! No sport in video game fishing. It’s just as unsportsmanlike as shooting a deer over corn.
Awesome podcast guys
Excellent content! 👍🏼
Awesome show. I am now a new sub to BFHQ and Joey Fishing.👍
Another great video great guest.

not new. it's just a large jig. If it works for him and he enjoys it, great! I enjoyed the video
Been doing that rig for 20 years+
“It all comes together with the forward facing sonar”
Oh, he's jacklighting the fish. Now I get it. And pretending that rig is new for snook? We used jigs and small soft plastics for snook 30 years ago and before, especially under docks at night but anytime.
Can you use electronic stuff during tournaments ?
Only thing about fishing with little baits like that you have to weed out a million baby fish .
Which reel do you have on the the TFO Resolve?
loved the podcast Tyler! Especially Joey sharing faith and what’s important in life. 👍
Great testimony. God reigns!
Is this a clear water live scope specific technique?
Let's be honest. It's not the lure, it is LIVESCOPE. Bait is secondary. Try that technique blindly.
If i cast and reel a lindy rig insted of drifting the bottom with it does that change the name of the rig. Or what if i use ff sonar with the lindy rig does that change the name also.

this will always be the "gussy rig" for me
Welcome to Kenora.
dude basically said just use ffs
I have been using this for years
Sonar must be really nice
Great from a boat where you can hover it, not so great from the bank where you can't.
Great, fishing video
Been using this for years, people thought bass didn’t like crappie jigs. 😂😂😂 They call themselves fishermen.
It would be so much better if it sat vertically
Bro came up with 8 diff fancy names for the hover rig lol
So the nedmiki is a new name for an old rig.
