I own both, and reluctantly admits that I think the ie 200 are better.. They are also 2 years newer, and it is probably heavily down to personal preferenc, but the ie 200 sound is phenomenal. For my ears the treble is way better, and I can listen for hours almost forgetting that I am wearing earphones. Something I can’t with the ie 600. Both are great, but the quality/price for the ie 200 is ridiculous.

The tuning definitely looks more pleasant than the IE600, but how much would we sacrifice in technicalities is the real question. Not only detail, but staging, imaging, separation, layering, clarity.

I never said it had anything to do with price. DMS said that the IE600 is more technically capable and I was wondering how big the gap is. I personally trust DMS's thoughts because my thoughts are usually in line with his. If it's not the case for you then what are you doing here?
Also, just because you don't hear a difference in technical performance doesn't mean that there isn't one.

I have both since i dont want to take 600 out of home so here’s my 2 cents. 600 is much more clear more details by almost a lot, in fact ive used 600 with Apple usb c to 3.5mm adapter, it still has better clarity, punch to vocals and much more intimacy than 200 with Helm Bolt. Sometimes at work with 200 i felt like ive been less stressed if i had 600 with me but then again it is 3x in price

Not the same comparison, but… I have both a BLON BL-03 and IE 300. And they seem to both have great bass response and balance of frequency response curve. However, the IE 300 just has better timbre; it is more detailed and cleaner than the budget champ, better able to create a depth of soundstage (though “out of your head” is very subjective), like a straight upgrade in performance. Sure, the BLON is cheaper, but I don’t have temptation to go back.

The IE 200 are more comparable to the Kato (which he compares to a bit about in the video) and in general the Kato are regarded as better than the Aria by a fair bit. While sound is very subjective I would be surprised if most people rated the Aria as better than the IE 200. Though some people might prefer the tuning / sound signature of the Aria the IE 200 are likely to be better in most ways. Whether it's worth paying the extra for them is up to each individual person.

I can't get the Sennheiser tips to stay in my ears, I loose the seal too easily.
I have been using Campfire Audio small foam tips. I do use the small foam insert from inside the ie300 tips, so no specks of ear wax get into the IEM's.
The CA foam is longer, and works better for my ear canal size. I was concerned that small foam insert could end up inside my ears, but so far they don't move.

IE200 and IE600 use different drivers. Their frequency response is different on the sennheiser website. IE 200 is capable to producing sound from 10hz to 20khz while the IE600 does all the way from 3hz to 45khz. I think IE600 and IE900 use different materials in their drivers compared to IE300 and 200. Here’s the quote from the IE200 page: The IE 200 takes advantage of some of the best in-ear technology we have to offer. The 7mm extra-wideband True Response transducer, for instance, exhibits virtually no harmonic distortion at all. That’s why you’ll also find it in our IE 300, IE 600 and IE 900.

I literally have never hand a more opposite reaction to any product DMS has reviewed. The IE200 experience was nowhere near the experience from the Kato. The Microphonic on the Ie200 is some of the absolute worst I’ve ever heard in my life. And the tips create pressure and headaches. With the Kato… for the quality, feel, and sound right out of the box is just outstanding. I didn’t have to change out the cables because they are so high quality. I didn’t have find more tips.. the spring tips work to perfection. I put in the gold nozzles and everything is killer, lush, timbre is great , details snd separation is beautiful. But with the IE 200 the left driver is more powerful than the right, the cable sucks, and the stability is off because the tips don’t seal very well. The first thing you do when you buy a product should be to correct their mistakes. And with the Kato I get exactly what I need and more right out of the box.
