Hi there internet 👋 Thanks for the unboxing and review! We can help provide some additional clarity about the MMCX "lip": The recessed plug helps provide additional strain relief opposed to a flush surface mount. A good analogy is a mailbox post that is seated deep into the ground versus just a few inches into the ground; the deeper seating will offer more stability. For the IE 200, this will result in a longer lasting connection. Any MMCX cable that already had a narrower plug sheath will also fit (at or less than 4.8mm in diameter). There are now several 3rd party cables that fit it since we've launched the IE 300, 900 and 600 (which also share this connector and recessed plug). Hope this helps anyone doing some digging in the comments!
@@Cyba_IT Yeah but he gets basic info wrong like impedance and forgets to mention what target and measurement rig their using because those are extremely important pieces of info to know, cuz they can show what u need to compensate for when reading it, btw he didn't specify whether it was raw or compensated measurements.

according to other reviewers, closing the "dual tuning" vent and some third party tips will give significantly more bass. The gimmick really doesn't seem to work most of the time, as when you insert the IEM into your ears you'll be pushing down on the tips, closing the vent anyway. The vent is always leaking, even in the closed position, so closing it with some tape improves bass significantly, back to similar levels of the IE600. Sidenote: at 11:22, a boost at 1-2khz would sound more "intimate" or even "honky", as instruments sound like they're closer to you in the mix, which can actually be preferable for some. The "shout" region would more be at around 3-6khz, ironically where there's a small dip, so that's probably why you couldn't hear it.
I don't find the bass to be leaking to be honest. I get a decent amount of bass, and about 20% less bass than my IE600, which is how they graph anyway. It's a less aggressive version of the IE600.
It's a shame that they don't come with the same case that the IE300's had (that these seem to replace in the Sennheiser lineup). Even the cable on those was noisy enough for me to return them, even my cheap BeyerDynamic in ears (soul byrd) have a significantly better cable and cost less than most mmcx cables!

I use the IE 600s and I have found that even with the lip I am able to use other MMCX cables just fine. I use a linsoul cable with a mic on it so I don’t have to always use a dedicated mic for gaming and it works fine. The one issue it does create is that for non sennheiser cables they dont have the extra grip of the lip to keep them in so when pulling the IEMs out of your ears you can accidentally disconnect the cable. Not the greatest thing in the world but it still works fine.
Let me warn you - the shape retaining wire in the ear hook broke on my IE 300 very easily (same build as IE200) and so ear hook wouldn't retain shape and what's worse - it put stress on the connector of the headphone as I wore it damaged, so one of my earpieces no longer work. The replacement cable costs insane amount of money and even tho connector is standard, the fitting is not as stated in the video. I owned and sold a pair of these. Should have really mentioned tip swapping, they benefit so much from better tips. Also there’s the tape mod to cover the hole for forward position to not lose all of your bass.
4:30 the 'feature' of the dual position, is that there is a small slit in the point where the tip sits on the IEM. That slit leaks the bass out. Sounds like they are similar to the Sennheiser cx 300s and cx 3.00 wired headphones and the CX true Wireless earbuds. The sounds on those are similarly very good, but build quality can be an issue, at least for me, since 1 to 1.5 years is the maximum I've had any of these before either the the wired headphone cable has broken or one the earbuds has gone permanently dead.
In 2017 I purchased a monitor from newegg. After three weeks of it working great I threw away the box. A couple of days later a blue line from top to bottom about 3 pixels wide appeared on the screen about a 1/3 of the way in from the left. Newegg refused to take the monitor back for the full refund without the original box. I told them I would buy a new one, return the bad monitor in the box from the new one and then get the refund. They refused and said the serial # on the box had to match the serial # of the monitor. The most they would do was a partial refund. Their customer service for this order was horrible and since then I have steered tens of thousands of dollars (personal and professional) away from newegg. Based on my experience I would not recommend newegg.
That's completely on you tho, almost no company is going to give you a full refund without the box and some companies need the box to be in usable condition. This just sounds like you being petty over something you should haven't of done in the first place, almost everyone who buys a monitor keeps the box
@@Fallen_Family Yet I've never had this problem with Amazon. I've sent a number of products back without the original box and never had this issue. As stated I was even willing to buy a new monitor, get that box and ship it back in the new monitor box for the refund on the original monitor. It's absurd to require that I keep a large box around for months during the warranty period covered by them. I think it's reasonable to assume that after a few weeks the original box would have been thrown away. Do you keep large boxes like TVs and monitors around for weeks and weeks? What about smaller boxes for processors or motherboards? What about clamshells for RAM? How long should one keep around the original shells/boxes? Would I need the original boxes for those if they were defective? All I wanted was a monitor to replace the defective one they sold me and they wouldn't do that without more money. It was very poor customer service and I don't think I'm being petty when a retailer demonstrates poor customer service.
If you're buying this IEM's I recommend buying new tips and cable. The tips you can put the filter of the stock ones have, it isn't glued or something and the cable is really bad, but remind that if you're buying a new cable you need to buy a ie series compatible mmcx, tripowin, and other companies have options compatible with IE series
Have the Sennheiser products remained good as they were before selling the audio division to Sonova? Had put on holding buying anything from them since the announcement to see what happens to their quality.
So I just got these today, I was thinking HD599se in an item which would double as the sleeping kit. And my first thought is this one is totally different. The cable for me is okay, because they decided to put the same driver as the ie600 / ie900. Maybe it's a Sennheiser thing that I never get the impedance to make sense, like my KZ zx10 pro are easier to drive. The 599se is 50 ohm and the ie200 are 18 ohm. I am sorry it's a weird thing that with a dac that can drive 300 ohms sounds good full and the volume is realistic. If anyone asks me right now, I know that this one will become my favourite with time, it's flat af, and these remind me of the Apple wired earphone that came with two drivers inside it.. this one will take time to understand the taste when I go through my playlist. Definitely unique in this price bracket.. it's like once you get used to your studio monitors everything else starts being awkward.. I will share more details with a long term review. Comfort is superb.
These are very comfortable and very small, I can sleep with these. It sounded very good until one day, for unknown reasons I can't hear the sound from my left ears. I have to press it against my head to hear it and in the process the seal was broken and there's hardly any bass. I don't experience the sound loss with other IEMs, all being bigger to these. That's the problem with IEMs, sometimes we have some physical changes with our ear canals and there will be fitment issues. I don't recommend these to anyone who wants to change the cables especially to modular type ones, it's a special type of MMCX connector that's more expensive to purchase from third party sellers.
Ive actually always thought there was a missed opportunity with basically box tuning done with the replaceable rubbers...i like to call them rubbers...just think of the chamber created by the speaker cone and your inners ear as the priamary chamber of the speaker box...the problem is everyones ear is different...but this is why you have equalization...not to get more performance overall but to tune out issues with your particular system and room Etc
I'm very happy with my IE 300's normal earbuds won't stay in for me for some reason and I really dislike noise cancelling. If you wait for a good deal you get IE 300's for cheaper then IE 200's
Can I ask would connecting these top earphones to a high quality DAC make them sound even better? Or little difference and what about a high quality Walkman ( not necessarily Sony) just wondering. PE
I'm coming from a 7Hz Salnotes Zero. I'm looking for an IEM around this price point($100~) with a sub bass focus and textured bass with overall better technical performance and more detail compared to my 7Hz Salnotes Zero. My main genres are EDM and Pop. Do you have recommendations that fit the bill?
Incorrect. The audiophile product engineers, R&D, etc all still work at the Sennheiser HQ laboratories. Yes, owned by Sonova, but no, not just a brand.
@@craesh It's more complicated than a UA-cam reply but here goes: Sonova indeed acquired the rights to the brand for certain product categories, but the audiophile gear has all the same minds, R&D, engineering and machinery still at work. There will be some cross pollination with hearing devices in the future where both companies can leverage expertise. That said, the hi-fi gear is developed by many of the bright minds that worked on some of your other favorite Sennheiser projects.
Glad I watched this on my phone so I could zoom into the video to see what he was describing for most of this video. :( maybe needed more close up b-roll guys.
They cheaped out on the case and cable to lower the price apparently. Otherwise they would have charged $300 like they do with the worse ie300. I like the ie200 pouch though, it’s a fun fidget toy. Hate the cable, it should be thrown out asap.
Clinical highs? Idk about that, it definitely has good soundstage and imaging though. It’s more of a warm laid back sound, maybe you need to tape the nozzle with micropore or electrical tape.
As an audio professional (and avid /regular LTT & co viewer), I have yet to watch a review of an audio product and not come away disappointed. The claims of how musicians listen on stage is from the perspective of a person who is clearly neither a musician or person who has played on stage. I hope you’re able to find some employees with more legitimate experience and knowledge about their speaking topics.
@@No-vh6rt as a blanket statement I agree, but there is no way that more experience is directly = worse perspective/takes. It sounds like you’ve maybe watched some bad reviewers.
Same, except I’m not an audio professional. It’s just bad - they have actual pros at LTT for this kind of stuff too, but I guess they’re *ALL* camera-shy? Bruh *no one* is selling the IE600s for over $1k. That is basically a fake price. Sennheiser recently ran a sale where they were $500. Anyway, yeah, I love my IE600s, but the stock silicone tips collapse in my ears super easily and are unusable. Easily the worst stock silicone eartips among the half-dozen IEMs I own. After trying a ton of ear tips, I've found that the Spinfit W1 ear tips are pretty comfortable. Other people will find other ear tips to work better for their ears; I also tried Spinfit CP100s, Final Type E, and tips from other brands like Dunu. Azla Sedna Earfit Crystal tips are good and grippy, and other people like them, but they are not as comfy as the W1s for my ears. Most people have praised the Sennheiser IE lineup for their comfort. With the stock cable and tips, I found they're among the less comfortable IEMs I've tried compared to tiny bullet IEMs like the Moondrop Quarks DSP or a larger, contoured, pseudo-custom Dunu SA6, but with my Spinfit W1 tips and the lightweight, basic $13 Sennheiser-compatible MMCX cable I got from Aliexpress, they're definitely comfortable to use.
I just ordered the Steven Slate VSX headphones. You should consider them for a video idea! They're some really crazy mixing headphones that work in parallel to included software!

I am waiting for the Hart Audio cable to be delivered. I understand that I could have got a more expensive IEM with what I have spent, with the Hart cable I can use different connections.
fun fact, you can trim that collar off pretty easily and they will take any MMCX cable.
Before watching the video , I hope this is the outcome: use other tips because the 'dual position' thing doesn't really work. Use 3rd party tips that stay on properly , and these are actually very, very good as cheaper-but-still-good ie600's. Ie300's are quite different
having used mmcx and 2-pin i kinda prefer 2 pin, the rotating feature of mmcx doesn't really matter all that much, and after a while they tend to get loose.
At 7:40 he is talking about the improves sennheiser cable does anyone have a link to the said cable ?
dose these IEMs are good for everyday usage ? for like gaming , zoom meetings ?
those little ridges on the inside of the tip strong enough to hold when you slip it in your ear?
If you're buying this IEM's I recommend buying new tips and cable. The tips you can put the filter of the stock ones have, it isn't glued or something and the cable is really bad, but remind that if you're buying a new cable you need to buy a ie series compatible mmcx, tripowin, and other companies have options compatible with IE series
are they good for listening to content/films and gaming?
How well does the eartip hold its place? i can imagine it just pops to the 2nd position when pushing it into your ear?
Have the Sennheiser products remained good as they were before selling the audio division to Sonova? Had put on holding buying anything from them since the announcement to see what happens to their quality.
Ie600 is great hd650s II overpriced and ie200 great if they fit
White background maat would be nice for black earbuds
I would suggest anyone to look for Crinacle's IEM ranking list when choosing an IEM.
I have the 7Hz Timeless ones.
What’s the background track @10:38 ????
Since when is 18Ω high resistance?
Project red review?
Is Realtek 1220 VB enough to drive these? I don't super loud but high resolution..
Best earbuds for bass and mids? How about vocals? Why?
1:55 that aint high impedance bud, have you seen stax ear speakers at 140.000 ohms, or the hd600's at 300 ohms
Have you listened to the razor Iem version? They're about $10 cheaper than those.
Any reviews of these from a guitarist? Thinking aout picking them up for apartment playing.
Do they at least have memory foam eartips or just the silicone crap?
They come with both, fellow video skimmer
I've got the IE100 PRO. For a wired and wireless Bluetooth headset, they do me well.
A negative is the wired set-up is for playback only.
I own the IE300 and Can’t find where to buy a new cable 😢.
I just ordered a cable from Hart Audio for the IE200. I think it can be used for the IE300.
Could you please test KZ IEMs? It doesnt realy matter Wijchen, i want to know what you think of those as a reference
When or can you review the pinebuds Pro?
I'm very happy with my IE 300's
normal earbuds won't stay in for me for some reason and I really dislike noise cancelling.
If you wait for a good deal you get IE 300's for cheaper then IE 200's
I doubt it, unless ie300 is $120 which is the price of ie200 currently - and that's not even on sale
Can I ask would connecting these top earphones to a high quality DAC make them sound even better? Or little difference and what about a high quality Walkman ( not necessarily Sony) just wondering. PE
I wanna know of they sound better than linsoul timeless cause i cant even use my meze audio cable on them which sucks
Are these newer ie200's or the old and hated ones?
or were those ie300's?
I'm coming from a 7Hz Salnotes Zero. I'm looking for an IEM around this price point($100~) with a sub bass focus and textured bass with overall better technical performance and more detail compared to my 7Hz Salnotes Zero. My main genres are EDM and Pop. Do you have recommendations that fit the bill?
Remember, Sennheiser is only the brand, not the manufacturer. Sennheiser (the company) sold the consumer division to Sonoma last year.
Incorrect. The audiophile product engineers, R&D, etc all still work at the Sennheiser HQ laboratories. Yes, owned by Sonova, but no, not just a brand.
@@sennheiser so it's some kind on joint venture?
@@craesh It's more complicated than a UA-cam reply but here goes: Sonova indeed acquired the rights to the brand for certain product categories, but the audiophile gear has all the same minds, R&D, engineering and machinery still at work. There will be some cross pollination with hearing devices in the future where both companies can leverage expertise. That said, the hi-fi gear is developed by many of the bright minds that worked on some of your other favorite Sennheiser projects.
how do you clean the filter?
Soooo, does that mean I can use them as studio monitors on the go?
Should I get this over 7hz Dioko X Crinacle??
I just can't go back to wired ear/headphones unless I'm on PC. MTW3 sounds as good if not better to my ears than the Beyerdynamic dt 900 pro x
Can you guys test the old IE80's ?
can you use these on a gaming pc and expect good sound?
without an amplifier
do they have a mic?
a Fiio dac? how do their iem sound compared to these?
Should i get IE 200 over EA500?
ignore the crypto scams in the comments
Better yet, dislike and report
We gota get this guy his own channel
6:03 Me with u12t stock cable 👀
6:25 No joke, Truthear Hola cable is the best thing ever
God I Love Adam! He's an amazing host!
That last punchline! 😂
Best headphone review in a long time. Beautiful rant. Keep calling em out for being cheap where it counts.
Clinical highs? Idk about that, it definitely has good soundstage and imaging though. It’s more of a warm laid back sound, maybe you need to tape the nozzle with micropore or electrical tape.
Do the 20$ iem comparison pls
so 7hz zero/wan er/hola /hbb khan then?
There are better audio channels who know what they are doing for that.
Can someone link the audio player used in the video?
what about compared to ie80?
Like I can’t trust it when they say something is neutral compared to Crinacle or ResolveReviews nearly as much, and sometimes really wonder wtf are they talking about.
@@No-vh6rt
But these reviews aren’t coming from that perspective. A lot of reviewers will cover sound in detail along side the graph - LTT NEVER does this. It’s a pain - dude get people who give a F about Harman 1 way or the other
@@No-vh6rt I am not trying to argue with you. It sounds to me like you’re listening to people less knowledgeable or with flawed understanding to begin with. That is exactly why I’m criticizing Short Circuit.
🤓
Can you review some cheap iem's from brand like KZ, CCA which are 20$
Bruh *no one* is selling the IE600s for over $1k.
Very nice review.
I’d love to know how these compare to Etymotic’s offerings
They're much more lively-sounding than anything Etymotic.
I wanna know a best earphones for gaming
I’m tired of my headphones
I just ordered the Steven Slate VSX headphones. You should consider them for a video idea! They're some really crazy mixing headphones that work in parallel to included software!
Sick subtle monsters Inc reference
Would really like to see the IE400 Pro
这衣服在哪买的?姜根是什么东西?为啥还有个飞机的配图?
6:33 what in the hell was that there, in me left ear? There was something right before that, also
