Hey all. The pre-patch recently hit PTR servers and the nerfs are coming along with them. I've updated everything with annotations but highlights are: Gold missions being replaced with resource missions(as mentioned in the video). Smuggled sack of gold bags are removed. Draenic philosopher's stones vendor for slightly less(from ~25g to ~21 so it's not too bad). JC daily switched from gold to resources(this is probably the biggest hit aside from the missions). Overall we're still looking pretty good. The JC daily nerf is the most extreme, but it'll still generate gold through the trading post. Inscription is untouched as of this writing and will be a good replacement building(no profession needed just like JC). I'm making a video now to go over the details on that. Hey I was planning on upgrading all my garrison buildings that you listed to level 3 but is it still worth it? Will I still be able to farm gold until Legion or will the patch kick in beforehand?
I'd say at this point it's still worth it, but it's still pretty early in the PTR so more nerfs may come. I personally would hold off for a couple weeks or so and see how things progress before making any big investments as these nerfs could just be the tip of the iceberg.
One thing to add for the alchemy building would be to place a follower with herbalism in your garden so you can specify that you only get frostweed which is what the alchemy lab uses for work orders.
+Gene Wisenbaker This is a great point! You'll also need an ample supply of Gorgrond Flytrap as well if you decide to go down the tailoring route(their daily craft needs 10). I'd say for every 3-4 characters with frostweed, having 1 with flytrap would be a good call. Thanks for watching =)

a little suggestion: install the addon "Scrap", a bag icon will apear in vendors window, drag and drop items like the philosopher stone on that icon (just one time) and the addon will configure that item as junk, from now on, just click the bag icon and every phisolopher stone / junk item will be sold immediatly, it saves you a lot of time/clicking
Yeah you can also hot key it which is pretty helpful too, I just hit numpad - everytime to sell as mine doesn't seem to sell more than ten junk at a time

Great video man. One thing I would add is doing the daily quest in your Bunker building where you use 25 iron scraps to purchase a token for either a weapon or armor enhancement as well as getting 15g 40s. Always purchase the weapon enhancement token since that sells for higher back to the vendor if you already have max level followers. Granted this would only be useful on your "main" toons since it does require you to go outside of the garrison to earn the iron scraps usually.
+Nicolas Reyna The War Mill/Bunker is also useful for the Iron Horde Scraps which you get a lot of from the work orders (as well as weapon and armor enhancements to vendor or upgrade follower weapons and armor) that just take garrison resources. Trading them in for an Orgrimmar Axe for Horde (vendor price 50g95s) and Thunderlord Sabatons for Alliance (vendor price 23g 24s) makes quite a bit of extra gold. You can either wait out the 2 hour resell to vendor, or mail them to an alt to sell. Useful if you have a surplus of resources, and something to think about post Legion with the 200% increase followers.
Rather than JC, use Inscription - between the Daily craft that the building follower provides and the fact that Card of Omens can be crafted and flipped for an average of 4.2-4.5g per card (~8g per War Paint), it will make at least twice what the JC building will for just the daily quest.
No problem, good on your for trying to spread the word about post-Legion garrison builds. I've posted a bit on this subject on r/woweconomy. I should also note the gold that the Inscription building provides isn't as immediate as the JC building, because you can have bad RNG on the Card of Omens. On average the Inscription building works itself out to roughly 430g per day. That includes the value of the Follower's Daily craft (75g), the value of War Paints from Work Orders crafted into Card of Omens (~195), and the value of 1 rush order per day on average from follower missions (20 War Paints = 160g CoO value). This is all able to be done strictly with the building, but would require level 3 for the rush orders.
I wanted to mention the Salvage Yard... the random gear you get can be put on the AH for considerable gold for both the levelling crowd and the transmog collectors. The more appealing "looks" for the transmog crowd sell for considerably higher amounts based on demand. Or if the AH game is not worth the time... just vendoring many of the items will add up (especially the weapons). As a footnote to that... Since the Transmog\wardrobe system changes will spark a higher demand for these BoE items on the AH with all the folks wanting to add to their new collections. So if you have a Mule toon or storage Guild bank... saving them to sell post-Legion launch may bring in large amounts of gold. Or if you personally are a likely collector will save you the gold / time of collecting those appearances.
+EGreenGoblin This is a great building to have right now(I actually have quite a few boxes that I'm saving for Legion). I think the transmog market will be revitalized when that wardrobe system hits which should result in a lot of gold. Unfortunately though I think they're nerfing it for Legion(or the pre-patch). Post patch any box you get will be different than the ones you are getting now. The ones you have saved up won't be affected though which is good.
I have not been saving the boxes... I just identify the BoE items I think will be popular or that I personally like... and vendor the less appealing items. Then I send the BoE items that are cool looking to my Storage Guild Bank. Have been selling the duplicates on the AH from time to time. Looking forward to the transmog/wardrobe collection system. Since all my void storage is basically filled on all my primary toons... been saving the appearances I want to have post Legion.
The mine doesnt take to long, just make sure u have Peon's Mining Pick in your bag, and also use Preserved Mining Pick so insta looting the nodes. Also use five Miner's Coffee. I can do all my mines in less then 10min
What do you think of the deadtime in Legion? Currently there are several "upgrades" in the "class hall" which takes several days to complete, would it be better to have items to speed it up? Such as a mineral or item as the medallions that increase rep etc, to decrease the cooldown of it by say 1 day or so?
I think it's fine for the first run through. I think it might be to have a catch up mechanic for alts maybe, but I'm fine with slow progression. That was one of the big problems with WoD and it's why we've gone so long since a patch - they should have spread them out more(or just make more I guess lol). Just my opinion though.
only thing I'm wondering is if our garrison hearthstone will move to our class order halls or if we will have three stones; one inn, one to class order and one to garrison in WoD?
I did manage to do the intro garrison quest in the alpha a while back and we still got our garrison hearthstone. That was a few months ago though so it could have changed. In this expansion we also get a Dalaran hearthstone so we''ve got quite the collection hah
About the Huge Ogre Cache.. I believe its value will be the minimum amount you can cash it in the trade post. Since you get roughly 15g from each Huge Sack of Gold which is 50 resources, you can buy 1000/50=20 and they will give you 20*15=300. That means you can get 300g from every Huge Ogre Cache. Same thing will happen to Savage Blood with the 50g sack.

The Inscription hut also has a follower daily that gives gold. I haven't mathed out how it compares to the Alchemy trinket selling for profit. Another Draenor resource that I expect to continue to command a decent price is the Savage Bloods for people after the transmog unlocks of the Draenor crafted gear.
Yep I recently delved into inscription due to suggestions from everyone. It's pretty good! And good point about those savage bloods - I never thought about that. I believe you can also trade them in for a bag of gold(~50g I think?) so that should also help it retain value. Thanks for sharing & watching the video!
I noticed your getting random herbs in garden and was curious if you think it'd be better to set it to just frostweed to up the production on Alchemical Catalyst?
Yep frostweed for the alchemy lab and flytrap for the tailoring emporium. I personally just buy them off the AH since I'm lazy, but that's definitely worth taking advantage of.
This video blew my mind. I can use a follower to make JC items and not be JC!!!! Needless to say, I rebuilt my garrisons a bit. Also I saw you buy the bags of gold one at at time, not sure if you were just showing it for the video, but I use BuyEmAll addon that allows me to buy stacks of stuff like bags of gold without the prompt. Just FYI :)
Looks like someone from Blizzard watched this video. Recent PTR patch nerfed your tip about converting resources to smuggled sack of gold. Edit: just saw the rest of the ptr changes...holy crap it's like they took this video and made a checklist of things to nerf. >.< Thanks for trying though. I have both the herb garden & mine at lvl 3. I collect all the resources from both every day on my main and save them for when the ore and herb trainers show up in my garrison. Trade them all in for primal spirits, and then trade those in for savage bloods. They don't sell as much as felblight (obviously), but they still fetch a pretty penny. You can increase this as well if you have the trading post and spend your resources on the reagent corresponding to the trader in your garrison at the time.

I'm personally going with an enchanting hut on all my characters. My reason is because temporal crystals are boe and should hold value in Legion because they are one of the mats needed for the new illusion enchants. In my opinion, choosing the tailor building isn't an option for me because I don't want to change all my professions because I have expensive patterns learned in the other professions and the cloth you make at the hut is BOP. That's my opinion though for me personally

Sumptuous fur will still have a solid value in legion, as hexweave bags will remain the largest general-purpose bag in the game. We will not have a larger bag in legion. In fact, the price of sumptuous fur may actually increase. Unless I'm missing something, draenic dust should be worthless in legion other than just profession leveling. Don't buy the sac of gold. Probably best to buy sumptuous fur, but if you have a scribe you can also convert the garrison resources into plants, the plants into pigment (mass mill), the pigments into paints, and the paints into card of omen, if you want to go though the trouble. These cards might sell on the AH for a larger amount, but even if they don't, you can still open them for an average of more than 4 gold per card vendor price (I can open 1k cards in about 8 minutes). +Prophet I think it's worth it if you don't have any other tailors. You can still get the JC daily if you keep the building and make those bags to sell on the AH. It depends on your server, but they typically sell for 700-1000 per bag so it's not too shabby. I also hear that inscription is a viable option. I still have to test that out myself though.
MadSeasonShow Yes my server is Stormscale PvP and there bags are 950 gold highest price. Do i need leveling my JC full before delete it and switch it? Yes i am hear too Ins is good, but that leveling is really paining ass :D If dont have herbalism secondary professions.
+Jason Cook (Malekyth) Yep unfortunately the shipyard gold missions will be removed as well. I haven't seen any official word but it's assumed that they'll switch over to oil missions.
Savage Blood and Temporal Crystals will be needed for WoD Illusions in Legion, so having at least one character with a barn and enchant hut would be ideal. This effectively makes the two valuable throughout the expansion. If you have the time, I would donate enough time to saving enough cages for a minimum of several months worth of work orders. I would get as many TH followers saved up as possible before pre patch then change the Inn to a barn for this. Also the new legion bags are going to be so insanely expensive not many people will want to buy them, so hexweave bags will be the fall back, making your tailors and tailoring huts very valuable.

+Bacon 223 Sounds like a plan! You won't lose any patterns if you swap out that BS hut if that's what you're wondering - that's only if you drop the profession. Remember that you also need alchemy to take advantage of the alchemy hut though. The JC hut is the only building(that I know of) that you can still make a profit off of without the actual profession.
Xzarian I really have to try this out. It's a nice alternative for people who don't want to rely on the auction house for their gold(if I'm understanding it correctly that is).
Great vids..my one concern is if they remove the garrison hearthstone, making it very challenging to fly back to your garrison, rather than just hearth there. I'm not in beta so can't confirm if the stone still works
What's your opinion on High Lord Kazzak and killing him every week for the Felblight and junk epics? I mean I know come legion they'll be as useless as frozen orbs and such but right now they seam to be the most reliable to sell on the AH.
+ArmouredLemming It's definitely worth it, especially if you have a lot of alts. Most groups one shot him easily now so it's an easy 1k gold per character depending on your luck. Back when he was first released fel blights were selling for 500+ each...those were good times haha. Still worth it though!
MadSeasonShow 16 level 100 alts that kill him every week, have to admit it's a little soul crushing doing it all in one day but the number of people looking for a raid beyond Wednesdays just result in an even more amount of time to get it all done. I do miss those old days, on my server they where going for well over 1k at the start, absolute madness!

One quick update, they have stated there will NOT be any new bigger bags in Legion so the Hexweave bags seem to be the go-to bag for Legion. This is due to the limited need for space once everyone sells off all their transmog gear
That's great news. I think that makes tailoring a must have for people still looking to make gold from their garrison post legion. I wonder if the prices will raise long term since a lot of people will be leaving their garrisons(thus less bags in supply)
and I have good news for you! 1. smuggled gold sacks - removed 2. pet charm gain - nerfed to the ground 3. there are no 32slot bags in tailoring, they are making 30slot again (cheaper to make - what I heard) 4. gold income from missions - removed 5. mats demand - pretty much down to zero imo A. there are new world quests in legion that can give gold, I had few some for like 800g B. professions in legion will give much more income than it was in WoD C. there are many quests, events, and such which give some ok amount of gold while giving otehr useful stuff D. champion missions give some gold but rarely so far and not high amount (got like 100g missions) Conclusion: imo wod's garisson will be useless because there will be more fun and more efficient ways to farm gold, I think even old raids (like Cata raids) will be waste of time, unless you wanna get some nice rare transmogs too
Hey I have a question. I'm a completely new player (played for many years tho but not on retail) and from what I gather everyone are focusing on gold making from garrisons and other things to prep for legion. I will start playing in around 15 days. Completely empty account, level 1 and such. So... Should I follow your garrison /gold guide or will it just be a waste of time seeing how I have only 2-3 months left? I have no idea how they work and seeing now that you need some high item level on your followers worries me, since I'll have to get myself high item level first which obviously takes time. I want to amass as much gold as possible in this 2-3 month span so I have easier time purchasing wow tokens later, since it seems legion will make it harder to get gold.
+HonoR95 I think the garrisons will still be profitable come Legion. They're definitely taking some big hits with the gold mission + salv yard nerfs, but if the profession building are intact it'll still be pretty profitable I believe. If you're just starting out though, I definitely recommend trying to knock out those heroic 25 cataclysm raids to build up a decent pile of initial gold. I recommend those to all of the new players looking to make some decent gold since it's all from vendoring/looting - no messing with the auction house. I think if you do every one, that's around 5k/week per character. I actually have some video guides for those as well if you need help with those. Garrisons require a pretty big initial investment of gold/time so definitely hold off on that until you have a decent amount of gold saved up. So my personal suggestion: level up to 100 asap, try to knock out those heroic 25 man cataclysm raids, then build up your garrison as you get gold without breaking the bank(try to keep above 10k). We won't be needing stables and lumber mill , so yeah this is a good set up. The problem is between tending to your farm in pandaria(farming harmony and iron) and class order hall, the garrison will take even more time. The grind is real here.
+MKfanmomo I was surprised they didn't move the farm to garrisons - it seemed like a perfect fit. That would keep people even more cooped up in their garrisons though so it might have been for the best.
You can also gear them with your War Mill/Bunker. You create work orders with garrison resources and that gets you lots of follower gear and Iron Horde scraps. The scraps can be traded for either an armor or weapon upgrade.

Just answering a question I get a lot. Here are my personal recommendations for how to set up your garrison in preparation for Legion if you still want to make some decent gold. Enjoy and if you have any questions just ask.
Personally I think that a level three salvage yard yields more gold than the JC one, as the chance for transmog gear alone can give you more gold per day, plus the added armor/weapon tokens to upgrade your non-675 iLvL followers is always good. Not to mention you don't need mats to make money from the salvage yard like you do the JC shop. Other than that and having a bank/guild bank to make easier communication between all my alts instead of an alchemy store, my setup is the same.
+cjolwebdesign The salvage yard is a great choice for now, but like Ichebu mention it's unfortunately going to see some nerfs. Any crates you have saved up now won't change, but come Legion(or the pre-patch) it'll see a nerf. Like I said though it's a nice option to have now. The wardrobe system should revitalize the transmog market and it should be a good amount of gold if you have a bunch of crates saved up. Thanks for watching =)

With updates sounds like making gold from garrison will be a thing of the past and the amount actually made really won't be worth its time to visit anymore?
So far the nerfs haven't been too bad. The biggest thing affected in this video is the JC hut, where the gold daily is getting replaced with a resource daily. Other than that(and the gold mission nerf of course) everything else is relatively intact. That could change though - when the patch hits and everything is finalized I plan on making an updated video for this. If it is still worth it that is.
Look into Inscription and the Card of Omens with War Paints. I Made a couple of millions with that passively during the expansion with just opening them myself ;). Not going too much into depth since I like to keep it low profile so it doesn't get nerfed.

I am a beta player. I think having too many players that have the same profession would not be effective when Legion actually comes because there will be no more daily cooldown for profession in Legion. I think Inscription will be very profitable in the early Legion due to increase demand of Darkmoon Card.
+Malak4060 Nope - unfortunately the salvage yard is getting changed(probably nerfed) come the pre-patch. Any box you have saved up now will be untouched, but boxes you get after the patch will contain something different supposedly. I'm assuming it'll be an overall nerf considering they're trying to reduce the amount of gold you get from garrisons.
+cheyenne mciver Glad you like them =) It's pretty variable. Here are some rough estimates though(assuming pre-nerf and no mine/herb garden): 400 a day from gold missions assuming you have all of your treasure hunters leveled up 150 a day from the JC daily. The cache has 150-300, but considering the material cost I'll just put the minimum 150 here. 400 a day from the tailoring hut. This will be highly variable as well. Combining your daily craft, work orders and rush work orders over a 7 day period, you'll be able to make about half a hexweave bag a day. They're currently selling for 800-1000 gold on my server so I just took half of the minimum again because of the sumptuous fur costs. 250 a day from the alchemy lab. Once again over a 1 week period factoring in daily crafts, work orders, and rush work orders you should be able to make ~12 philosopher's stones a day. That's just over 300g a day but you need frostweed and true iron to make them so I took off 50. And then add whatever you want for the rare garrison missions. Those can be very hit or miss so take those as a case by case basis for sure. So for pre-nerf that's a total of around 1200g daily per character plus (whatever you get from your weekly rare garrison mission)/7. Once the gold missions get removed you'll lose that 400/day from gold missions, but you'll be able to add a portion of that back through the surge of garrison resources you get by spending them at the trading post. So like I said very rough estimates, but they should be within the ballpark at least. Sorry for the wall of text!
Did you buy the recipe for it? Your building NPC should sell it as long as you have alchemy trained. It costs 1 secret of draenor alchemy, which you get from the "Treatise on the Alchemy of Draenor" recipe(also bought from your building npc). Hope this helps! Let me know if you still have trouble =)
The profession buildings on the garrison won't create legion mats, so the garrison will only be good for making WoD stuff. So the hexweave bags are the only thing worth selling in legion.

+Bwsq70 I think a lot of people are sick of garrisons - they've been cooped up in them for over a year now. Plus with all of the nerfs there's less of a reason to stay in them. Especially at the start of Legion since everyone will be scrambling to hit 110 and such. That's just what I think though... I could be wrong!
I thought they were going to nerf garrisons in Legion so you couldn't use them as gold farms post-launch (and so people will leave them to come out to the real world).

Why bother. Just spend 20€ on a token and sell it for 95 000 gold. (it even went to 98 000 gold) The time you spend on upgrading your lvl90 treasure hunter followers, you can work and earn some real money. Making buying a token and sell it the BEST gold/hour. And its garantueed.
Bah, I was really hoping they got rid of the garrison. In my opinion, it's really boring, takes away from social aspects of wow which their need to be more of. I felt forced to use the garrison to level up in Dreanor, I really hope it's more of an optional way of playing the game.
+Rawking I can see where you're coming from. Regarding social aspects I think it's been on a downward slope for quite a while now - they've been slowly sacrificing it for the sake of conveniences. Cross realm battlegroups, CRZ, dungeon finders, LFR finders, garrisons - these have all slowly chipped away at the social aspects and the sense of community in the game and it's one of the reasons why legacy servers such as Nostalrius are so popular. I'm not saying they were right or wrong bringing these changes(5 hour pvp queues were horrible in vanilla). I'm just saying that something always gets sacrificed when they bring out features like those. It's actually a really interesting discussion and it's something I wanna make a video about because I think it's important. Sorry about the wall of text...I tend to ramble on a lot hah. Hmm you may be right. Each level unlocks recipes for your trainer to craft if you don't have JC learned, but all of the stuff you learn from the daily may be from level 2. I'll have to check this out soon....thanks for letting me know!
I personally dont think using the garrison to make gold will be worth the time...Youd be better going out and doing world quests in Legion, instead of spending the 30 mins in WoD garrison sending followers out and making stuff with the profession buildings.
+MadSeasonShow M SDoc took the words out of my mouth, JC and Inscription buildings together will be generating raw gold, assuming blizz doesn't nerf them. I think of the two, the Scribe is the most reliable, I only use the JC one when it's gem cuts or 20 ore turn ins, Scribe I do everyday. I send all of the items you get to my AH alt and combine them with a macro. Additionally, flipping cards adds even more gold, so running that constantly yields a nice profit. The Herbs are cheap, so I've gone this route on all of my guys.

Hey all. The pre-patch recently hit PTR servers and the nerfs are coming along with them. I've updated everything with annotations but highlights are: Gold missions being replaced with resource missions(as mentioned in the video). Smuggled sack of gold bags are removed. Draenic philosopher's stones vendor for slightly less(from ~25g to ~21 so it's not too bad). JC daily switched from gold to resources(this is probably the biggest hit aside from the missions).
Overall we're still looking pretty good. The JC daily nerf is the most extreme, but it'll still generate gold through the trading post. Inscription is untouched as of this writing and will be a good replacement building(no profession needed just like JC). I'm making a video now to go over the details on that. I'll add it to the description when I finish it.

Hey I was planning on upgrading all my garrison buildings that you listed to level 3 but is it still worth it? Will I still be able to farm gold until Legion or will the patch kick in beforehand?

I'd say at this point it's still worth it, but it's still pretty early in the PTR so more nerfs may come. I personally would hold off for a couple weeks or so and see how things progress before making any big investments as these nerfs could just be the tip of the iceberg.

The smuggled bag of gold that you buy with resources is removed in legion.
One thing to add for the alchemy building would be to place a follower with herbalism in your garden so you can specify that you only get frostweed which is what the alchemy lab uses for work orders.
+Gene Wisenbaker This is a great point! You'll also need an ample supply of Gorgrond Flytrap as well if you decide to go down the tailoring route(their daily craft needs 10). I'd say for every 3-4 characters with frostweed, having 1 with flytrap would be a good call.

a little suggestion: install the addon "Scrap", a bag icon will apear in vendors window, drag and drop items like the philosopher stone on that icon (just one time) and the addon will configure that item as junk, from now on, just click the bag icon and every phisolopher stone / junk item will be sold immediatly, it saves you a lot of time/clicking
Yeah you can also hot key it which is pretty helpful too, I just hit numpad - everytime to sell as mine doesn't seem to sell more than ten junk at a time

Great video man. One thing I would add is doing the daily quest in your Bunker building where you use 25 iron scraps to purchase a token for either a weapon or armor enhancement as well as getting 15g 40s. Always purchase the weapon enhancement token since that sells for higher back to the vendor if you already have max level followers. Granted this would only be useful on your "main" toons since it does require you to go outside of the garrison to earn the iron scraps usually.

+Nicolas Reyna The War Mill/Bunker is also useful for the Iron Horde Scraps which you get a lot of from the work orders (as well as weapon and armor enhancements to vendor or upgrade follower weapons and armor) that just take garrison resources.
Trading them in for an Orgrimmar Axe for Horde (vendor price 50g95s) and Thunderlord Sabatons for Alliance (vendor price 23g 24s) makes quite a bit of extra gold. You can either wait out the 2 hour resell to vendor, or mail them to an alt to sell.
Useful if you have a surplus of resources, and something to think about post Legion with the 200% increase followers.

Rather than JC, use Inscription - between the Daily craft that the building follower provides and the fact that Card of Omens can be crafted and flipped for an average of 4.2-4.5g per card (~8g per War Paint), it will make at least twice what the JC building will for just the daily quest.

No problem, good on your for trying to spread the word about post-Legion garrison builds. I've posted a bit on this subject on r/woweconomy.
I should also note the gold that the Inscription building provides isn't as immediate as the JC building, because you can have bad RNG on the Card of Omens. On average the Inscription building works itself out to roughly 430g per day. That includes the value of the Follower's Daily craft (75g), the value of War Paints from Work Orders crafted into Card of Omens (~195), and the value of 1 rush order per day on average from follower missions (20 War Paints = 160g CoO value). This is all able to be done strictly with the building, but would require level 3 for the rush orders.

I wanted to mention the Salvage Yard... the random gear you get can be put on the AH for considerable gold for both the levelling crowd and the transmog collectors. The more appealing "looks" for the transmog crowd sell for considerably higher amounts based on demand. Or if the AH game is not worth the time... just vendoring many of the items will add up (especially the weapons).
As a footnote to that... Since the Transmog\wardrobe system changes will spark a higher demand for these BoE items on the AH with all the folks wanting to add to their new collections. So if you have a Mule toon or storage Guild bank... saving them to sell post-Legion launch may bring in large amounts of gold. Or if you personally are a likely collector will save you the gold / time of collecting those appearances.
+EGreenGoblin This is a great building to have right now(I actually have quite a few boxes that I'm saving for Legion). I think the transmog market will be revitalized when that wardrobe system hits which should result in a lot of gold. Unfortunately though I think they're nerfing it for Legion(or the pre-patch). Post patch any box you get will be different than the ones you are getting now. The ones you have saved up won't be affected though which is good.
I have not been saving the boxes... I just identify the BoE items I think will be popular or that I personally like... and vendor the less appealing items. Then I send the BoE items that are cool looking to my Storage Guild Bank. Have been selling the duplicates on the AH from time to time.
Looking forward to the transmog/wardrobe collection system. Since all my void storage is basically filled on all my primary toons... been saving the appearances I want to have post Legion.

The mine doesnt take to long, just make sure u have Peon's Mining Pick in your bag, and also use Preserved Mining Pick so insta looting the nodes. Also use five Miner's Coffee. I can do all my mines in less then 10min

What do you think of the deadtime in Legion? Currently there are several "upgrades" in the "class hall" which takes several days to complete, would it be better to have items to speed it up? Such as a mineral or item as the medallions that increase rep etc, to decrease the cooldown of it by say 1 day or so?
I think it's fine for the first run through. I think it might be to have a catch up mechanic for alts maybe, but I'm fine with slow progression. That was one of the big problems with WoD and it's why we've gone so long since a patch - they should have spread them out more(or just make more I guess lol). Just my opinion though.
only thing I'm wondering is if our garrison hearthstone will move to our class order halls or if we will have three stones; one inn, one to class order and one to garrison in WoD?
I did manage to do the intro garrison quest in the alpha a while back and we still got our garrison hearthstone. That was a few months ago though so it could have changed. In this expansion we also get a Dalaran hearthstone so we''ve got quite the collection hah

About the Huge Ogre Cache.. I believe its value will be the minimum amount you can cash it in the trade post. Since you get roughly 15g from each Huge Sack of Gold which is 50 resources, you can buy 1000/50=20 and they will give you 20*15=300. That means you can get 300g from every Huge Ogre Cache. Same thing will happen to Savage Blood with the 50g sack.

The Inscription hut also has a follower daily that gives gold. I haven't mathed out how it compares to the Alchemy trinket selling for profit.
Another Draenor resource that I expect to continue to command a decent price is the Savage Bloods for people after the transmog unlocks of the Draenor crafted gear.
Yep I recently delved into inscription due to suggestions from everyone. It's pretty good!
And good point about those savage bloods - I never thought about that. I believe you can also trade them in for a bag of gold(~50g I think?) so that should also help it retain value.

I noticed your getting random herbs in garden and was curious if you think it'd be better to set it to just frostweed to up the production on Alchemical Catalyst?
Yep frostweed for the alchemy lab and flytrap for the tailoring emporium. I personally just buy them off the AH since I'm lazy, but that's definitely worth taking advantage of.
This video blew my mind. I can use a follower to make JC items and not be JC!!!! Needless to say, I rebuilt my garrisons a bit. Also I saw you buy the bags of gold one at at time, not sure if you were just showing it for the video, but I use BuyEmAll addon that allows me to buy stacks of stuff like bags of gold without the prompt. Just FYI :)

Edit: just saw the rest of the ptr changes...holy crap it's like they took this video and made a checklist of things to nerf. >.< Thanks for trying though. I have both the herb garden & mine at lvl 3. I collect all the resources from both every day on my main and save them for when the ore and herb trainers show up in my garrison. Trade them all in for primal spirits, and then trade those in for savage bloods. They don't sell as much as felblight (obviously), but they still fetch a pretty penny. You can increase this as well if you have the trading post and spend your resources on the reagent corresponding to the trader in your garrison at the time.

That could work too, especially if the price on the AH drops below 45-50g per savage blood.
Like the videos man, getting some nice ideas from you so I had to sub. Are you using some kind of addon for the follower mission table?
I'm personally going with an enchanting hut on all my characters. My reason is because temporal crystals are boe and should hold value in Legion because they are one of the mats needed for the new illusion enchants.
In my opinion, choosing the tailor building isn't an option for me because I don't want to change all my professions because I have expensive patterns learned in the other professions and the cloth you make at the hut is BOP. That's my opinion though for me personally

Sumptuous fur will still have a solid value in legion, as hexweave bags will remain the largest general-purpose bag in the game. We will not have a larger bag in legion. In fact, the price of sumptuous fur may actually increase. Unless I'm missing something, draenic dust should be worthless in legion other than just profession leveling. Don't buy the sac of gold.
Probably best to buy sumptuous fur, but if you have a scribe you can also convert the garrison resources into plants, the plants into pigment (mass mill), the pigments into paints, and the paints into card of omen, if you want to go though the trouble. These cards might sell on the AH for a larger amount, but even if they don't, you can still open them for an average of more than 4 gold per card vendor price (I can open 1k cards in about 8 minutes). I went on and bought 100k herbs for

+Prophet I think it's worth it if you don't have any other tailors. You can still get the JC daily if you keep the building and make those bags to sell on the AH. It depends on your server, but they typically sell for 700-1000 per bag so it's not too shabby. I also hear that inscription is a viable option. I still have to test that out myself though.

Is the change to gold for the garrison also for the shipyard? i.e. we'll get oil instead of gold now from shipyard missions?
+Jason Cook (Malekyth) Yep unfortunately the shipyard gold missions will be removed as well. I haven't seen any official word but it's assumed that they'll switch over to oil missions.
Savage Blood and Temporal Crystals will be needed for WoD Illusions in Legion, so having at least one character with a barn and enchant hut would be ideal. This effectively makes the two valuable throughout the expansion. If you have the time, I would donate enough time to saving enough cages for a minimum of several months worth of work orders. I would get as many TH followers saved up as possible before pre patch then change the Inn to a barn for this. Also the new legion bags are going to be so insanely expensive not many people will want to buy them, so hexweave bags will be the fall back, making your tailors and tailoring huts very valuable.

Absolutely, you will be making so many resources from your ES followers that the bloods will become quite easy to stockpile.

+Bacon 223 Sounds like a plan! You won't lose any patterns if you swap out that BS hut if that's what you're wondering - that's only if you drop the profession. Remember that you also need alchemy to take advantage of the alchemy hut though. The JC hut is the only building(that I know of) that you can still make a profit off of without the actual profession.

Great vids..my one concern is if they remove the garrison hearthstone, making it very challenging to fly back to your garrison, rather than just hearth there. I'm not in beta so can't confirm if the stone still works

+ArmouredLemming It's definitely worth it, especially if you have a lot of alts. Most groups one shot him easily now so it's an easy 1k gold per character depending on your luck. Back when he was first released fel blights were selling for 500+ each...those were good times haha. Still worth it though!
MadSeasonShow 16 level 100 alts that kill him every week, have to admit it's a little soul crushing doing it all in one day but the number of people looking for a raid beyond Wednesdays just result in an even more amount of time to get it all done. I do miss those old days, on my server they where going for well over 1k at the start, absolute madness!
Good suggestions, but how does the "Mount Barn" fit into Legion? Should I get rid of it if I have all the mounts from the missions?
If you have the mounts the only point in keeping the stable is if you enjoy interacting with things while mounted

One quick update, they have stated there will NOT be any new bigger bags in Legion so the Hexweave bags seem to be the go-to bag for Legion. This is due to the limited need for space once everyone sells off all their transmog gear
That's great news. I think that makes tailoring a must have for people still looking to make gold from their garrison post legion. I wonder if the prices will raise long term since a lot of people will be leaving their garrisons(thus less bags in supply)

1. smuggled gold sacks - removed
2. pet charm gain - nerfed to the ground
3. there are no 32slot bags in tailoring, they are making 30slot again (cheaper to make - what I heard)
4. gold income from missions - removed
5. mats demand - pretty much down to zero imo
A. there are new world quests in legion that can give gold, I had few some for like 800g
B. professions in legion will give much more income than it was in WoD
C. there are many quests, events, and such which give some ok amount of gold while giving otehr useful stuff
D. champion missions give some gold but rarely so far and not high amount (got like 100g missions)
Conclusion: imo wod's garisson will be useless because there will be more fun and more efficient ways to farm gold, I think even old raids (like Cata raids) will be waste of time, unless you wanna get some nice rare transmogs too
+Arthez they're also nerfing gold from those old raids you mentioned as well.

Hey I have a question.
I'm a completely new player (played for many years tho but not on retail) and from what I gather everyone are focusing on gold making from garrisons and other things to prep for legion.
I will start playing in around 15 days. Completely empty account, level 1 and such.
So...
Should I follow your garrison /gold guide or will it just be a waste of time seeing how I have only 2-3 months left?
I have no idea how they work and seeing now that you need some high item level on your followers worries me, since I'll have to get myself high item level first which obviously takes time.
I want to amass as much gold as possible in this 2-3 month span so I have easier time purchasing wow tokens later, since it seems legion will make it harder to get gold.
+HonoR95 I think the garrisons will still be profitable come Legion. They're definitely taking some big hits with the gold mission + salv yard nerfs, but if the profession building are intact it'll still be pretty profitable I believe. If you're just starting out though, I definitely recommend trying to knock out those heroic 25 cataclysm raids to build up a decent pile of initial gold. I recommend those to all of the new players looking to make some decent gold since it's all from vendoring/looting - no messing with the auction house. I think if you do every one, that's around 5k/week per character. I actually have some video guides for those as well if you need help with those.
Garrisons require a pretty big initial investment of gold/time so definitely hold off on that until you have a decent amount of gold saved up.
So my personal suggestion: level up to 100 asap, try to knock out those heroic 25 man cataclysm raids, then build up your garrison as you get gold without breaking the bank(try to keep above 10k). Hope this helps! Let me know if you have anymore questions. I'd be happy to help =)

The problem is between tending to your farm in pandaria(farming harmony and iron) and class order hall, the garrison will take even more time.

+MKfanmomo I was surprised they didn't move the farm to garrisons - it seemed like a perfect fit. That would keep people even more cooped up in their garrisons though so it might have been for the best.
Where is the link to gearing followers to ilvl 675? Cuz you don't even recommend the salvage yard and I believe that's the best way to gear followers.
You can also gear them with your War Mill/Bunker. You create work orders with garrison resources and that gets you lots of follower gear and Iron Horde scraps. The scraps can be traded for either an armor or weapon upgrade.
there will not be a 32 slot bag in legion , the 32 slot bag is unique and 500k gold. i could be wrong but whats the point of a 500k gold bag otherwise

+Christian Lund They are changing the junkyard as well with the patch. It will most likely be an overall nerf but I don't think anyone knows for sure yet. Apparently, they're changing what you get in the boxes post-patch. The ones you get now won't change so no worries if you've been stocking up.

Personally I think that a level three salvage yard yields more gold than the JC one, as the chance for transmog gear alone can give you more gold per day, plus the added armor/weapon tokens to upgrade your non-675 iLvL followers is always good. Not to mention you don't need mats to make money from the salvage yard like you do the JC shop. Other than that and having a bank/guild bank to make easier communication between all my alts instead of an alchemy store, my setup is the same.

The wardrobe system should revitalize the transmog market and it should be a good amount of gold if you have a bunch of crates saved up.

With updates sounds like making gold from garrison will be a thing of the past and the amount actually made really won't be worth its time to visit anymore?
So far the nerfs haven't been too bad. The biggest thing affected in this video is the JC hut, where the gold daily is getting replaced with a resource daily. Other than that(and the gold mission nerf of course) everything else is relatively intact. That could change though - when the patch hits and everything is finalized I plan on making an updated video for this. If it is still worth it that is.
Look into Inscription and the Card of Omens with War Paints. I Made a couple of millions with that passively during the expansion with just opening them myself ;). Not going too much into depth since I like to keep it low profile so it doesn't get nerfed.

What addon do u use in you garrison?
For the missions I use "Master Plan". It's a super good garrison mission add-on that I recommend to everyone who spends time in their garrison. Here's a link: mods.curse.com/addons/wow/master-plan

I am a beta player. I think having too many players that have the same profession would not be effective when Legion actually comes because there will be no more daily cooldown for profession in Legion.
I think Inscription will be very profitable in the early Legion due to increase demand of Darkmoon Card.

+Malak4060 Nope - unfortunately the salvage yard is getting changed(probably nerfed) come the pre-patch. Any box you have saved up now will be untouched, but boxes you get after the patch will contain something different supposedly. I'm assuming it'll be an overall nerf considering they're trying to reduce the amount of gold you get from garrisons.

It's pretty variable. Here are some rough estimates though(assuming pre-nerf and no mine/herb garden):
400 a day from gold missions assuming you have all of your treasure hunters leveled up
150 a day from the JC daily. The cache has 150-300, but considering the material cost I'll just put the minimum 150 here.
400 a day from the tailoring hut. This will be highly variable as well. Combining your daily craft, work orders and rush work orders over a 7 day period, you'll be able to make about half a hexweave bag a day. They're currently selling for 800-1000 gold on my server so I just took half of the minimum again because of the sumptuous fur costs.
250 a day from the alchemy lab. Once again over a 1 week period factoring in daily crafts, work orders, and rush work orders you should be able to make ~12 philosopher's stones a day. That's just over 300g a day but you need frostweed and true iron to make them so I took off 50.
And then add whatever you want for the rare garrison missions. Those can be very hit or miss so take those as a case by case basis for sure.
So for pre-nerf that's a total of around 1200g daily per character plus (whatever you get from your weekly rare garrison mission)/7. Once the gold missions get removed you'll lose that 400/day from gold missions, but you'll be able to add a portion of that back through the surge of garrison resources you get by spending them at the trading post.
So like I said very rough estimates, but they should be within the ballpark at least. Sorry for the wall of text!

Did you buy the recipe for it? Your building NPC should sell it as long as you have alchemy trained. It costs 1 secret of draenor alchemy, which you get from the "Treatise on the Alchemy of Draenor" recipe(also bought from your building npc).

The profession buildings on the garrison won't create legion mats, so the garrison will only be good for making WoD stuff. So the hexweave bags are the only thing worth selling in legion.
And Legion will have it's own set of Bags. So there is the chance, that people are gong to equip themselfves with those, right?
Man you're one of the very few people still playing WoW especially this dedicated. Many of us quit long ago and don't plan to return for Legion.

+Bwsq70 I think a lot of people are sick of garrisons - they've been cooped up in them for over a year now. Plus with all of the nerfs there's less of a reason to stay in them. Especially at the start of Legion since everyone will be scrambling to hit 110 and such. That's just what I think though... I could be wrong!

The time you spend on upgrading your lvl90 treasure hunter followers, you can work and earn some real money. Making buying a token and sell it the BEST gold/hour.

Bah, I was really hoping they got rid of the garrison. In my opinion, it's really boring, takes away from social aspects of wow which their need to be more of. I felt forced to use the garrison to level up in Dreanor, I really hope it's more of an optional way of playing the game.
+Rawking I can see where you're coming from. Regarding social aspects I think it's been on a downward slope for quite a while now - they've been slowly sacrificing it for the sake of conveniences. Cross realm battlegroups, CRZ, dungeon finders, LFR finders, garrisons - these have all slowly chipped away at the social aspects and the sense of community in the game and it's one of the reasons why legacy servers such as Nostalrius are so popular. I'm not saying they were right or wrong bringing these changes(5 hour pvp queues were horrible in vanilla). I'm just saying that something always gets sacrificed when they bring out features like those. It's actually a really interesting discussion and it's something I wanna make a video about because I think it's important.

Hmm you may be right. Each level unlocks recipes for your trainer to craft if you don't have JC learned, but all of the stuff you learn from the daily may be from level 2. I'll have to check this out soon....thanks for letting me know!
I personally dont think using the garrison to make gold will be worth the time...Youd be better going out and doing world quests in Legion, instead of spending the 30 mins in WoD garrison sending followers out and making stuff with the profession buildings.
It'll be interesting to see how things progress. I think if everything stays as it is now it's worth it, but they could always nerf something.
id swap in inscription hut for the daily quest. 75-225g per day. other than that i really like this video.

+MadSeasonShow M SDoc took the words out of my mouth, JC and Inscription buildings together will be generating raw gold, assuming blizz doesn't nerf them. I think of the two, the Scribe is the most reliable, I only use the JC one when it's gem cuts or 20 ore turn ins, Scribe I do everyday. I send all of the items you get to my AH alt and combine them with a macro. Additionally, flipping cards adds even more gold, so running that constantly yields a nice profit. The Herbs are cheap, so I've gone this route on all of my guys.
