Crazy to think that when WoW just came out, the game felt much more sophisticated than it is now. Now everything is oversimplified and overstuffed with items that might as well not even have a name. Where did all this creativity go, the great writing and mystery behind the items.
i got the battered hilt in Pit of Saron during patch 3.3 on my death knight tank while PuG tanking when the instances where still kind of a bumpy ride if you had new players in group and you could be stuck in there for a long minute, i remember looting it and thinking "hello, and what are you?" a very fun quest chain, humorously enough i played on the Quel'dorei server (later merged into Quel'dorei/Sen'jin)
is it just me or are madseasons videos always very low in volume? when i turn them up so i can clearly hear everything, the ads in between shatter my ears😮
The forging portion of the Quel’Serrar questline is so cool. Maybe it’s just my RP imagination running rampant, but it feels like the climatic scene of a movie. Forge the sword in battle by fooling your adversary into aiding you, only to slay them right after with that very blade.

The Ocarina of Time was arguable your best work and moves me to tears every time I watch it. Thank you for everything you do and I look forward to your new content in the new year and beyond.
sulfaras is in my opinion one of the most ugliest weapons in history of entire mankind. why? because of the scaling. it looks sooo massive and powerful but its soooooo tiny, tiny itzy bitzy looks like a powerrangers weapon. why didnt they make at least the head of the hammer bigga?
I remember coming across the NPCs for Rhok'Delar, Franklin, Nelson, etc. and their friendly speech always made me feel uneasy, then it really creeped me out knowing that they're demons basically wearing the skins of humanoids. They always reminded me of Edgar from Men in Black, super creepy.
I always hoped Blizzard would bring back legendary weapons obtained through time consuming and/or challenging quests again, nothing screams legendary louder than the effort needed to get them in the first place. Quel'delar, Shadowmourne, and the Blue Dragontflight staff in Cataclysm is really the only times I can think of they have done it since vanilla.
This is giving me the urge to go play classic again. Even though I started WoW during Legion and became a Heroic raider who dabbled into Mythic. My fondest memories aren't of flawless runs on the hardest retail raids or high Mythic keystones. But of my Boomer guild in Classic, where me in my mid 20s was the youngest person of the guild wiping on some braindead mechanic as my Boomer guildies just chatted and bantered with each other.
2:30:56 It feels so weird to actually remember when the update that changed the armour and weapon models landed. I remember especially because my Irish buddy came online after getting OEB a couple nights earlier, and was visibly buzzing off his bonce at the upgrade 🤣 Good Times, thanks for this Madseason
id like to mention that the scenes with ghosts cant happen if shadowlands exists, therefore shadowlands cant happen at all so it is not a canon expansion because it is impossible based on world mechanics already in place

Its the Deprecated Rogue's Vest, a lvl 1 shirt that you should not find in the game. I found it on wowhead in 2006 and asked a GM for it. He just send it via mail to me ;)

Man im still so pissed at this. I did all the shadowmourne quests, got the chest and wanted to sell the mount and items i could on ah and then i stopped playing and all my items fell down the mailbox hell before i remembered and got back to wow like year later.
And now with HC, that Leaf drops and the guild gets nervous they are going to lose a 60 Hunter. Think only the old unused tan text version of The Twin Blades of Azzinoth combined into one.
My Warrior wields Quel'Delar and Shadowmourne. I feel like my Charakter would never want any other weapons. Since she defeated the Lich king with those Weapons.

I remember seeing people with Arcanite Reaper back in the day and was so amazed. That was BIS at one point for most.
Helped my brother grind gold for it back in 2005
14 year old me being in awe of the arcanite reaper on a full Valor warrior I’d run UBRS with in 2004-2005 still pops up as nostalgia berries randomly.

As a hunter main, getting Rohk'Delar was probably my favorite moment in all my years of WoW.

Most ICONIC low leveling would be Crescent Staff. It was great for casters and even Melee DPS who could use it.
