Im late to the Paladin party having just got mine geared enough to start running this, but I have to say this guide is so much clearer than anything else I have watch - good job!
Here's a tip: Always cast a holy wrath during your bubble/bop, it's an absurd amount of damage, you rarely need the 2nd holy light heal because it effectively ends the packs sooner.
Yes. The trash loot and none DE loot yields 200G each hour with the gold drop from mobs. Since its raw gold you can do it in Wrath to unless they nerf it since its not dependant on the AH
Tried this for the first time and was easily able to make 50-60g PER RUN, I turned all the Runecloth into bandages and vendored them, the raw gold is freakin' amazing, going to compare this with Black Morass gold farming with skinning to see how it compares, but this is awesome.
Did a ton of Black Morass farming today, it sucks ass when compared to this even WITH Skinning and LW, the raw gold from this just beats it into the ground.
I like that not only you came back to give the updated feedback but also your findings! I am not making them into bandages yet because I'm actually turning them for rep with major cities (want exalted with them all haha) but I'm pretty sure as soon as I do that and put them to craft on my second account or when I go shower it'll add a lot more gold! I'm happy it helped ya, and yeah BM is very skinning dependent which is tanking fast in most realms I think!
Tremendous guide, I use this farm religiously and solely rely on it for my gold income. I've got quite a bit lower spellpower than most, but I can still clear this consistently while getting locked for 15 minutes at the end of things. My Consecration ticks for about 131 (fully buffed), so what I've done instead is swap the first Holy Light during BoP and DS for a Holy Wrath. This seemingly helps me a lot getting the Explosive Cadavers to spawn before my shields run out/fast enough for me to react with proper movement. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Amazing quality guide, thank you very much dude! I'm learning this pulls right now with default dungeon build, it's really good, but will try to respec for sanc aura later. I'm waiting for more of your guides :P

Hay i have a question, i did some testing and sanctity aura only adds 10-15 damage to consecration, while improved retri does about 45 reflect damage, witch is more and give you more tallents to spend. why recomend sanctity aura?
First, cool name! Second, you have to calculate a few more things: 1) You add 10% to consecration every second that it ticks so at my spell power level, it adds about 14-15 damage every second to each mob 2) Mob attack speed is 2.0, meaning they only attack once every 2 seconds, so they can only proc retribution aura every 2 seconds, so the actual DPS or ret aura per mob is half, or 22.5 3) On top of that, you want a lot of avoidance so you can survive, about 60% and because our block value is bigger than their damage, whenever we block we take zero damage, and Ret aura only procs when mobs hit you, so it only has a 40% chance to proc on each attack That means the actual DPS of ret aura, because mobs aren't hitting you, is only 40% of 22.5 = 9 DPS, while Sanctity Aura is a guaranteed 14-15 DPS increase and also increases your holy shield (that I spam because it helps kill a few mobs). Also to finish up, the more gear you get, the more avoidance you will have, and the less the mobs will hit, so less and less value on Ret aura, but you will also have more spell damage, so more and more value on Sanctity! Hopefully that clears it!
No no didn't vendor that haha, it has a "--" in front meaning that I just put it's price to zero by doing /set FL Krol's Blade 0 And then I sent it to a bank :P
wings are only possible if you have high avoidance; 80+%(73% + level difference, got a ton of block) allows me to do so, even with only 212 unbuffed spell damage (couldn't be arsed to farm for more items before trying the farm, ended up working alright, despite a slower kill time). Gotta be mindful of the exploding thingies though. Exorcism the early poppers and kite the rest over consecrations.
A thing I would recommend is doing a 0/31/30 build for vengeance as it increases killtime exponentially. For me, without the SP ring I'm getting 200+ consecrate ticks with wings and full vengeance.
@@FrankP8nts Forebearance - lock out of blessing of protection and divine shield for 60 sec. OP got more damage but probably died on cadavers since protection wasn’t castable
Great video. to add to this, pick up holy water from the supply crates in the instance, its a big Dmg boost when u have global to spare and its basically free dmg. i also use one global in bubble/BoP for Holy wrath.
Yep! Although stratholme holy waters are sadly AoE capped now :( You should wait with Holy Wrath until the normal non-elite mobs are dead btw so that it deals some extra damage (because AoE cap as well!)
Dam i started doing these today but my routing and cool down usage is much sloppier, leading to 15 minute clears and many deaths. You are absolutely correct on shield choice, I tried with force reactive disks and the sporagar shield and the damage intake was just so high vs the minimal damage they added vs cons, at this point it definitely seems like going defensive is the play. I cant wait to try out this method. I did some testing with a lvl 60 alt and was getting about 23-25k experience a run for anyone wondering!
Yeah sporegar is not bis for stratholme. It has other uses though, I feel like versus prolonged level 70 mobs (like the demon hunters) it's better! Thanks for testing the EXP out ma man
Hey dude! Wrath of Cenarius is now really easy to get! The rep gains are 5x and the twilight mobs also give rep. And then farming the quests is super easy because we're level 70 and mobs aren't elite anymore in silithus (the bugs). So actually it shouldn't take longer than maybe 3 hours? That's not much for a bis aoe ring! Probably less than it took me to get some dungeons drops haha
@@Tedjyt wooooooooooooot? i seriously thought it would still take extremly long, damn thats great to hear! thanks for the info! then its really actually worth it
@@Tedjyt I actually farmed wrath of cenarius yesterday (CC honored @ start). Took me approx 10h and 400-500g for logistics badges. Tacticals (dukes) farmed myself. Would say bugs took ~3-4h (combat badges), tacticals ~3h and leftover to logistics. But the ring is huge and totally worth it. Depents server, materials for logistics badge can be cheap.
Started farming this and I feel that I am efficient enough. The point is I don't know where the boosties should wait when boosting. Can you give an exact boostie position where they can get xp on "these" killing spots? Can they, for example, wait at the start?
I saw a comment where booster should enter back entrance and boosties main but still need to test it myself. Since mobs can randomly spawn anywhere in the instance starting locations are the only safe spots.
If you see my previous stratholme guide I show a map there with all the spots for booties. Although people in the paladin discord already found better alternatives where they don't need to move at all and you just modify the kill places a bit.
@@kispus9266 Yeah but where do you kill the 2nd pack? I mean, after the first prison part, I pull the pack to the 2nd prison. Someone told me that I had to pull them back to the first prison and kill there which is pretty hard for me for now.
Fel Iron Bombs are uncapped as well, they crit for almost 1k. Very worth the investment, especially since you probably made a bunch on the 375 grind anyway.
Like Saiken said, it takes some hours (8-13h depending on luck) but honestly it will last you the whole expansion and it's less total time than some badge gear haha, and it's waaaay better than any other piece you can get
If your gear is otherwise good enough, you don't need to get the ring. Once you don't die, the real limiting factor is resets/hour and 4 IDs will always be 4 IDs, even if you can do them in 8 minutes instead of 10.
@@Tedjyt Well, I ended up doing the grind and it makes things SOOO much faster, plus giving you a safety margin if you get some bad rng or make a mistake. :) Well worth the time.
@@jrblackify Hello! Wanted to ask a question about Cenarius rep. How did you grind it? I'm playing Blood Elf palading and I was unable to level rep during Classic. What did you do to level up to exalted? Thanks!
This was a great video and breakdown on what we should be doing. I haven’t tried it yet but I think I’m going to give it a shot. I have pretty good gear and I’m sitting at 490 defense, 3% from crushablity, and 400 spell power unbuffed.
Thanks man! You can drop some of that defense by the way, since these mobs are lower level than you, and get some straight up block rating. Block rating in these farms will always be superior to defense simply because 16 block rating is much more avoidance than 16 dodge rating, and we fully block every hit due to high block value!
Idk why you stopped doing videos… just I would like to say I’ve like your videos the most , simply because they are decent with lots of details and very useful to new players to. Finally IF u start doing them again I would like to see SP boost from u coz I heard that in my server we got pally doing it ☺️
Considering how many times you are getting hit, I feel as though 5/5 reckoning is a bit excessive since it takes several seconds to use your charges up. Nonetheless, this is an incredibly helpful guide!
Thanks! Well idk man, i had 3/5 in that video and you can go check the kill phases, they are consistently down, because we have about 60% avoidance here, and our autos are parry hasted a lot so it goes away fast, the downtime on reck was actually pretty huge, I feel like 5/5 is just great but at least 3/5, especially the more gear you get with avoidance, you'll get hit less and less
Hey man this is a great video. I have been doing this for a couple of days now and I have the pulls down but somehow I still sometimes die every now and then, plus I can also never hit your 10 minute time (usually takes me 15 minutes, even though my gear is a lot better than what you have used here), maybe it's because I'm full Prot spec or something idk. I do also pick up some holy water sometimes when I want a chill run w/o worrying about time. Anyway, great video man, I was dying so much on the first day I thought I'd never pick it up but now on the second day I got it down, TY dude :)
Yo! Well, not having Sanctity Aura definitely makes it a whole slower (13% to be exact)! It's fine to take it slower though, I spent many many hours in strat by now so chilling is not bad, always rushing gets tiring haha. The best GPH is sometimes not the best fun! I'm sure you'll get better with more practice mate, good luck!
Blessing of protection makes you immune to damage but also prevents you from auto-attacking, that would be a good time to cast Holy wrath since all the npc's there are undead. Even if its not enough to kill them, it will still deal a load of damage and stun them too, giving you time to heal if you need to.
True but the problem is that Holy Wrath is AoE capped like almost all AoE abilities, so it won't do that much damage into like 60 mobs, not so much that it compensates the healing you can do to your slef I think. It also doesn't stun them yet, I think that's in wrath haha, but I'm open to try it!
@@Tedjyt Hmmm, ok, didnt know that XD I started playing paladin at WOTLK at that point it was stunning them, i have pretty much on clue how paladins were prior to that!
I always wondered, what tools do people like yourself use to create these videos? You used something to make the map illustration, and something to edit the video (and adding the spell pictures above the targets is a very nice touch you have). Editing aside, this was a very nice video. I think i will level up my paladin and start testing this out. Keep up the good work.
Hey there! So me personally, I use Sony Vegas 18 to edit the videos but I am maybe planning to swap to Adobe Premier, but Adobe Photoshop for a lot of the image editing. You can also pickup the spell images from any website like wowhead or wowwiki! Thanks for the nice words
Extremely impressive. I will say though that if you haven't incorporated all the time disenchanting and sorting and posting on the AH, trips to the AH, emptying bags etc, the times are way out of whack. Probably more like 300g per 2 hours at minimum. Still, lots better than I"M doing at the moment, so well done! lol
Sub earned, I’m a new pally booster and I followed this guide step by step and successfully was able to start strat farm runs, can’t wait to make some real gold now, thank you for that!
Heyy I remember seeing your name months and months ago in the videos from last year, I'm pretty sure yes? I think like anything at 20% ish is good, as long as you have a total combined avoidance (including miss) of about 60% you should be fine! I can do Gruul tanking video as soon as I tank her, I had to heal last week. But you mean paladin PoV or just a guide in general?
@@Tedjyt you are correct 😁 I am an oldie. Also, you miseread, I asked how much block VALUE you recommend, not how much block % As for gruul, it doesn't have to be a guide (although that would be cool), just a pov is cool enough!
@@julithun4576 hah I knew it! Oh right my bad, I'd say at least 200ish, because that's generally already above how much the mobs hit you for. And gruul video I can do next week I guess if it's not a guide, but my channel as always been focused on guides and helping people out so not sure how my viewers would receive that xD
Is this something I will be able to do through all of burning crusade? I'm leveling a paladin right now (only 38) and was hoping to start this within the next 1 month. Also, what an incredible video. So detailed and you actually explain it in a way that those of us who are new can understand 😁
I'm slightly more geared than this and still find myself getting slapped around on the way to the corners to get to kill phase. Having to pop trinket way too soon. What am I doing wrong? D:
Hey! I just don't think that it's worth the effort it requires when it probably doesn't help much. PLG is very overrated, it's damage does not even equate to one consecration so might as well use a defensive shield to last longer and put one more consecration!
@@Tedjyt during the run phase you would use skull flame, can you reach Max stacks for petrified lichen pop avenging wrath swap to Crest of retribution. it's a lot more damage than you imagine because you only have to swap petrified lichen back for one block then back to Crest of retribution
Don't know if anyone checks this anymore but how did you come to 58% avoidance? ~10% miss ~12% dodge 14.4% parry total avoidance ~36.4% that you have on your sheet so that's not around 60%. Am I missing something?
@@Tedjyt oh ok thanks, I didn't realize people included block into it I always thought of avoidance as completely avoiding dmg and block only partially avoids damage. Great vid though found it helpful!
Amazing, struggling with the total avoidance but I'm up to 400SP without consu, but avoidance it's really important!! Mine atm is: 44% Maybe after the quest chain from alcatraz could reach 50% but still hard to get that 60% :P Anw, really clean work, I've doing BM with your talents and works really nice, only real problem is long range pulls
There's quite a few: The badge shield (33), Sha'tar exalted, or the normal dungeons ones like Platinum Shield or Aegis of the Sunbird. You can also get the BoE Wayward Footman with good block rating! Also thanks for the kind words
Is it true that you should bring a replacement shield because the shield breaks quickly when you do these? Thank you for all of the effort put into this video, it's perfect.
I make and sell heavy runecloth bandages to the vendor, and make a ton more gold selling lots of stuff on the ah I'm looting. I also found the rares can be 1v1 in like 20seconds with exorcism
Yeah for sure, you should sell some stuff in the AH, I'm just not doing it in this video for the sake of actually showing the vendor gold! You can also make runecloth belts -> DE -> sell the mats for a lot!
Do you think the potential healing from Skullflame Shield is better than running around with a blue shield? The only good shield I found is the one from Slabs first boss, pure stamina and defense.
Answered your other comment haha, but replying a copy: Uhm I don't think so. It has really low armor, no stats, and rarely procs because now we have a lot of avoidance

why recomend sanctity aura?
First, cool name! Second, you have to calculate a few more things:
1) You add 10% to consecration every second that it ticks so at my spell power level, it adds about 14-15 damage every second to each mob
2) Mob attack speed is 2.0, meaning they only attack once every 2 seconds, so they can only proc retribution aura every 2 seconds, so the actual DPS or ret aura per mob is half, or 22.5
3) On top of that, you want a lot of avoidance so you can survive, about 60% and because our block value is bigger than their damage, whenever we block we take zero damage, and Ret aura only procs when mobs hit you, so it only has a 40% chance to proc on each attack
That means the actual DPS of ret aura, because mobs aren't hitting you, is only 40% of 22.5 = 9 DPS, while Sanctity Aura is a guaranteed 14-15 DPS increase and also increases your holy shield (that I spam because it helps kill a few mobs).
Also to finish up, the more gear you get, the more avoidance you will have, and the less the mobs will hit, so less and less value on Ret aura, but you will also have more spell damage, so more and more value on Sanctity!
Hopefully that clears it!

Literally first pull I die because I'm smart and pop wings for more damage, whoops.
wings are only possible if you have high avoidance; 80+%(73% + level difference, got a ton of block) allows me to do so, even with only 212 unbuffed spell damage (couldn't be arsed to farm for more items before trying the farm, ended up working alright, despite a slower kill time). Gotta be mindful of the exploding thingies though. Exorcism the early poppers and kite the rest over consecrations.
Did exactly the same XD
A thing I would recommend is doing a 0/31/30 build for vengeance as it increases killtime exponentially. For me, without the SP ring I'm getting 200+ consecrate ticks with wings and full vengeance.
I'm confused, are you saying you shouldn't use wings? Struggling to think why using it would be a bad idea?

Great video.
to add to this, pick up holy water from the supply crates in the instance, its a big Dmg boost when u have global to spare and its basically free dmg. i also use one global in bubble/BoP for Holy wrath.
Yep! Although stratholme holy waters are sadly AoE capped now :( You should wait with Holy Wrath until the normal non-elite mobs are dead btw so that it deals some extra damage (because AoE cap as well!)
Definitely how Im going to get epic riding
Wowsers you've really optimised the heck out of this.
Lovely video, nicely explained and good editing!
Have a sub :D
Thanks my man, for the sub and comment
Pro tip. Get some low levels you can boost. It makes the reward alot better.
I have some quests about Strat holme can u help me pls?
Dam i started doing these today but my routing and cool down usage is much sloppier, leading to 15 minute clears and many deaths. You are absolutely correct on shield choice, I tried with force reactive disks and the sporagar shield and the damage intake was just so high vs the minimal damage they added vs cons, at this point it definitely seems like going defensive is the play. I cant wait to try out this method. I did some testing with a lvl 60 alt and was getting about 23-25k experience a run for anyone wondering!
soo sporagar is not good ?
Yeah sporegar is not bis for stratholme. It has other uses though, I feel like versus prolonged level 70 mobs (like the demon hunters) it's better! Thanks for testing the EXP out ma man
Amazing gold farm! Can’t wait to get my preraid gear to start doing this myself!
Good luck!
Great guide! Just one change by me. I use avengers shield for first pull+ imp ret aura. Also skullflame+ 5t2 still works here.
If it works for you that's good!
'easy to follow'
- ' wrath of cenarius required'
@@Jykkemoro im having a stroke trying to understand this
@@Jykkemoro Nice thanks for the info, now I know what to say when people ask me exactly haha
This is a really well made video!!
I am telling my boosties to stay in the tunnel at the crates
@@kispus9266 Yeah but where do you kill the 2nd pack? I mean, after the first prison part, I pull the pack to the 2nd prison. Someone told me that I had to pull them back to the first prison and kill there which is pretty hard for me for now.

And THIS, Ladies & Gentlemen, is why you should level a Paladin! :P
Poog there it is big Solheim showing
Fel Iron Bombs are uncapped as well, they crit for almost 1k. Very worth the investment, especially since you probably made a bunch on the 375 grind anyway.
True! The only down side is that they are pretty "expensive" so it lowers the GPH :(
no exalted requirements - wrath of cenarius, are you kidding me? :D
Okey that was a fail indeed haha, I meant no TBC ones!
@@Tedjyt it's now very easy grind. U get rep for killing mobs there in Silithus till exalted + 500 rep each x10 twilight texts turn in
@@Kivrus yep! Hi btw Kivrus long time no see! Also the mobs there aren't elites anymore
Love the video. I found a reason to use the Sporregar rep shield over other shields though... It's about 3 gold cheaper in repairs after 2 pulls.
The one exception to your "no exalted reps" on gear is that ring... omg I don't know if I can do that grind starting from zero. :)
takes 10hours solo ish if you know what ur doing
Block rating in these farms will always be superior to defense simply because 16 block rating is much more avoidance than 16 dodge rating, and we fully block every hit due to high block value!
i recently learned a cooking recipe called 'stormchops' and i wonder if it fits for this kind of aoe farms since it does lightning damage aoe.
From what I read, it's damage is capped so it might not be worth, but tbh, it's worth a shot!

LMAO that's a good point but there's equivalent shields in dungeons to that haha
naxx equivalent gear is easy as fuck to get by now, its rarely better than the good 70 pieces. yikes
@@TheFierburn I'm pretty sure he was joking haha
Gotta love seeing all those numbers pop up😀
Hey man this is a great video.
I'm sure you'll get better with more practice mate, good luck!
there's also an easily obtainable tanky bracer with spell power from a Netherstorm quest: Thadell's Bracers.
True! I got the pvp ones now though haha
I wosh more guides were like this. Im a newb only lvl 35 so im still learning and this helps alot
@@yiorc no problem man haha, now you know!
will this gold farm still be the most gold per hour for lvl 80 prot paladins in wrath?
You can also use stratholme holy water from the crates which is also not aoe capped and its instant damage to every undead mob :)
Sadly I'm pretty sure they are AoE capped now :(
I always wondered, what tools do people like yourself use to create these videos?
Still, lots better than I"M doing at the moment, so well done! lol

@@Tedjyt you are correct 😁 I am an oldie.

~10% miss
~12% dodge
14.4% parry
