A music tribute to help share the story of Navy SEAL Michael A. Monsoor, who sacrificed his life to save his fellow Navy SEALs, for which he posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
The song is in the form of a prayer to Saint Michael, his patron saint.
A prayer of one already on the threshold of eternity.
May God bless all of our brave heroes!
Original music and text by A. Zapata
Produced for the TFP Chivalry Songbook
    Text:
To Give All (In Honor of Michael Monsoor)
    Refrain
A warrior is sent without choosing the scene.
His presence shall fade, not his venerable deeds.
When thou dost command, it is then that we stand,
so to fall to arise through thy call to give all.
so to fall to arise through thy call to give all.
    Verse
Hear O Good Michael, thy blessing do give,
this life is laid down so that others may live.
The spirit is willing, all flesh is but weak.
With thee is found courage us soldiers do seek.
With thee is found courage us soldiers do seek.
And when in the Heavens, a breeze dost thou meet,
thy angels I've prayed to go to thee to greet.
Far above ties endureth, and light shineth through,
and the soul that transcends finds the holy and true.
and the soul that transcends finds the holy and true.
    REFRAIN
Thy glory is grandeur, thy light pierces fog,
thou thou raises such smallness through fights that appalled.
yet trial by fire, and eternity calls.
Thou giveth thy courage, that we will give all.
Thou givest thy courage, that we will give all.
We've dwelt but a moment in youthfulness dawn,
life's joys are like lightning, then tempest and storm.
As gold is in fire, a purity born.
This soul they commend for thy service as sworn.
This soul they commend for thy service as sworn.
    REFRAIN
With honor we end, our time sealed with a key.
The cost as an axe that dost sever the tree.
We sacrificed much, for the Cross is the way.
Yet more was asked from me, that more did I pay.
Yet more was asked from me, that more did I pay.
They sent death to my brothers, with heroes I've stood.
The gold of our country in fire as wood.
When death came to strike them, my life I might save,
yet I've chosen the Cross, 'tis the mark of the brave!
Yet I've chosen the Cross, 'tis the mark of the brave!
    REFRAIN
And when on the Earth, a breeze dost thou meet,
know Saint Michael, I've prayed to go to Thee to greet.
For on his same day, the last price did I pay,
on his wings my prayer lifted to The Life and The Way.
On his wings my prayer lifted to The Life and The Way.
    Refrain x 2

Good men serve God and country by all morally legitimate means. Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Gospels praises and highlights the military profession as can be seen for example in his praising a Centurion and others. He did not say the military profession was wrong, evil or illegitimate on account of abuses found in some of the governing leadership or throughout the Roman Empire of the time.
A good soldier fights and dies for higher and transcendent principles and ideals. No good person fights and dies for ungodliness as may be implied in your comment.
It seems better that we do not oversimplify matters.
    God bless!

And Michael, because of his acts and the offering of his life, could be considered as a saint.
