NOTE: Saint Ferdinand was the King of Castile and Leon. Later, kingdoms were united to get what we know as Spain.
If someone wants to rewrite the refrain, "Saint Ferdinand Most Glorious King of Castile and León," it may not fly, so we opt for a bit of poetic license on this rather important detail.
Although one might have an argument on their hands if one were to be square, and tell a good Spaniard that Saint Ferdinand is not "technically" a Spanish Saint but a saint only of Castile and León. Would it not be rather silly?
