      Agreed. He doesn’t preach about how every single person is meant for greatness, he just says that you have to do the best that you are physically and mentally able. Not everyone is meant for ‘Greatness’ as most motivational speakers would have you believe, but that’s not a bad thing. Normal people make the world keep spinning.

    It’s been 3 years since I watched this. I was unemployed, stuck in my room 24/7, no money, no friends, and very very depressed.
    I’m now employed with a stable job, fair pay, almost got enough for a car, I have good close friends now, and I’m working hard at the gym. It started by making my bed everyday. I’m not looking to “change the world” but this immensely shaped my life.
    Edit: wow this got a lot of likes, it’s really crazy how some small almost insignificant things can have profound effects on your life. This video for some reason stuck in my head and I just kept going I guess. It wasn’t easy but yeah thank you all for the nice comments 🙏🏾💯

      Same here, only that I fold up my blanket so that my sheets are exposed. The benefit is more air flow and therefore less smell.
      Doing my bed is routine, it comes without thinking so it doesn't fill me with a sense of accomplishment anymore, although it's slightly more convenient to cover myself at nights now.
      What I took away from this is speech is that having a routine is a foundation on which you can build on. It can be Making your bed, waking up at a certain time, going to bed at a certain time... This foundation is the required basis for everything you build on top of it and this foundation doesn't get destroyed that easily once established. So even if you fail at less ingrained and harder tasks that day, and your metaphorically your building collapses, you'll still have your foundation to rebuild your building tomorrow.

    It was possibly the military that made him the man he is. The military doesn’t create killer’s or mad men. It instills discipline, leadership, and integrity, In the 1% that is willing to change their life. The 1% are those who chose to give up their freedom so that we civilians can have ours.

    • @TheBlackfall234
      @TheBlackfall234 5 років тому +31

      The Military Training itself doesnt make you a killer, but it prepares you for that. As long as the War isnt fought for Survival or personal freedom (wich is not the case since every war after ww2 that the US fought in), its all just propaganda to make Soldiers believe that they do the right thing. You keep telling yourself that your freedom relies on those brainwashed Soldiers, but theres no proof for that. I would say its even the other way around. You should look at Lybia. The U.S "freed" the state and right now Lybia is the worst its ever been. This is not for your freedom. If you believe it is, you should fight for yourself.

      You guys might not understand the role of the military. The US Army is not supposed to make the lives of the people in Lybia or other countries better, and they are not supposed to make them feel safe. The thing is, USA is in such a priviledged position right now, and its citizens too, partly because of it's army. If you are an american, you might take this things for granted, but the thing is, your freedom and your privileges are paid by this brave soldiers.

    So if you wanna change the world, start each day with a task completed, find someone to help you through life, RESPECT EVERYONE, know that life is not fair and you will fail often. But if you take some risks, step up when the times are the toughest, face down the bullies, lift up the downtrodden, and never ever give up.
    This part always sends shivers down my spine.

    Brilliant, simply brilliant. I have listened to your speech multiple times, I have purchased your book which quotes your words, and have subsequently gifted it to friends to share your wisdom. This will not be the last time I listen to your speech to breathe in your advice....for I will always need a voice like yours to succeed in whatever my personal endeavor to help change the world one minute and one person at a time, starting with myself. That’s not nothing, for if we all heeded your advice, and made our beds each morning, we would all be the successful change in this world, one person and one bed at a time. Thank you, sir, and thank you for your service. The country owes you....actually the world is indebted. God bless you.

      Thats a huge goal. I hope it is still noble when you are old enough. The united states military is becoming incredibly illegitimate. Do you research so you don't have moral regrets. General Smedley Butler: War is a racket. IVAW: Iraq veterans against war. What is the military industrial complex? (General President Eisenhower), the CIA with Bin Laden(pics and news articles), ISIS, WikiLeaks, the real reasons we were in vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, the truth about Mumar Gaddahaffi etc and the list goes on.

      Aaron Cabiness I don't get why people are so shocked by big goals. There wouldn't be any SEALs if they were denied of having big goals. The 99% who fail are rarely the kind who dream of becoming since they were kids.
