  • If life abroad is truly difficult why don’t you return to Africa ? is an interesting live stream that looks into the age old controversy between diaspora based africans and our brothers and sisters based in Africa who for the most part have a warped perception of life in the diaspora. This live stream unpacks this difficult topic....you will enjoy watching it.

You truly nailed the diaspora life in this episode. I made a decision when l had my kids 20yrs ago to take them back home to the village every yr. It was tough being a single mum working 2 Jobs. Most of my friends thought l was mad wasting money. I couldn't afford mortgage here but l decided to develop back home & take my kids evey yr from when they were 3yrs old. I wanted them to know where l'll retire so they can visit & know their roots. They're adults now & look forward to the trip every yr & they know both worlds. It has been worth it for me more than any money can buy spending quality time with my kids & my people u can't put a price on that. We're sold an illusion lifestyle here & by the time most wake up they're facing retirement & can't cope. I hope people listen & learn wake up from the slumber in the western world & decide where they want to happily retire.

Very educating. However, it is natural for man to yearn for the basic needs of life of which most African countries have failed to provide her citizens. Hence, the move. Economist will say that diminishing returns would set in once a need is met. Subsequently, a hungry man cannot be balanced mentally . As soon as these basic needs are provided, his mentality begins to shift to a higher level of needs according to Maxlow. Therefore it is safe to admit that the mentality of someone who hasn't been abroad and the ones abroad cannot be the same because both are governed by two different systems. People and even animals will always move or get attracted to where they can find , food, clothing, shelter, and importantly security or safety. Not moving abroad will make sense only to someone who has these fully provided. Meanwhile, you are doing a great job

The reason why is because All the African leaders are neo-colonial servants of the western colonial powers.
It's their job to make sure that African countries remain underdeveloped.
The leaders who truly desire to make a change in Africa are undermined by the powerful G7 nations

A lot of people are in a trap the enemy has set up for them by not living within their means. The first thing is to get rid of the credit card, try and get out of the rabbit hole by reducing your unnecessary expenses, stop spending to impress, stop spraying money at parties it’s not worth it. When you know the truth it will set you free. Sometimes the hard truth has to be told. Thank you for sharing the truth.

after watching this video...my mindset shifted, my father tried to travel abroad illegally by ship about 30years ago, holland to be precised but he quit at the last minute reasons best known to him, some of the friends he was meant to travel with some died along the way because of cold under the ship store room and some made it and about 3 years ago, one his friends came back with almost nothing i even withnessed his marriage , mean while my father has built two filling stations, 1 hotel, two houses, 1 event center, and multiple lands and he is still 53 years old.... my father always advises me to stay home that i can become anything i want to be here and then travel abroad for vacations

I think that we all living overseas for different reasons. Most people are here for a better life or experience, some just want to get away from the norms that made them feel caged. I left because my parents wanted me to gain a better education and I stayed because since my parents passed while I was overseas. The family that is left in Africa don't see me as human just an ATM waiting to be exploited. Home is were you feel loved and free, and that is not the life awaiting most africans. Last I checked the life expectancy for most africans is not high, so I am good where I am, too old for the fake love waiting back home. Most diaspora people are broke because of the same folks back home who love to exploit them, I have been there hence why I cut my ties with them. I keep it 💯 with folks whether the care or not, I let them know if you visit Canada get a hotel, cause I am only making enough for me and my baby.

If your children are not excited about going back , you should ask yourself what you're telling your children, mine are excited. It's time to get yourself out of this modern day slavery. And this modern day slavery includes every race....,

You must realize that a typical Nigerian in diaspora measures his or her success based on the wealth of other Nigerians and not the society at large. That's why a Nigerian making £150k a year feels like s/he is Elon Musk because he is probably a one-eyed king among the blind. But within the context of wealth, he is just another number, another employee. We live illusionary lives. Our competition is only limited to within ourselves--I better pass my neighbour mentality.

Phrankleen this is your best content so far! I couldn’t have said it better. I have been on both sides, I thank my stars that I got this knowledge quite early and I escaped the trap/cycle. I paid my dues in the UK, but it is quite debilitating how the system reduces some of us with greater potential to absolute average Jo working round the clock & paying bills. This reality was what reset my brain. I couldn’t build ANYTHING in the UK despite my potential. I was absolutely miserable.
That said, we need to discuss some business opportunities and some of the things that I have been doing in Nigeria.

This topic is like the story of the blind men and the elephant where they all had different perspectives on what an elephant looks like based on where they touched . So while I understand Franklin’s point, I don’t completely agree . One’s perspective of nigeria may be highly dependent on your experiences before you left the country , or what happened during your brief visits . One’s experiences are personal and highly subjective , can’t be discounted no matter how logical the opposing argument may be
