There's nothing janky about J-B Weld for that particular application if you were using body filler on the motor cover it be slightly janky but it would still be completely legit using J-B Weld is even more legit in my eyes than body filler for this scenario

To be fair we do have a lot of crackheads 😂
I've sprayed a lot of valve covers and sand is always an issue. What we started doing is drilling out the rivets for the baffles, pull off the baffle compleatly. Tap the rivet holes, sand blast and powdercoat then use short screws with loc-tite when youre done.
Hopefully everyone can appreciate all the time and hard work that goes into a job like this, its absolutely perfect!

Too good of a UA-camd to be underrated
I always had better luck with the aircraft remover that you brush on. The spray stuff just never worked as good.

I don't think that illusion blue powdercoat was fully wetted. I've used their illusion series before and it turns silver chrome when its fully melted. Still looks good. Idk if you let it cool down before applying the clear top coat, but if you don't it doesn't look as deep. I did an ar15 in their purple and it turned out amazing. I experimented on a yeti tumbler with different bake times before applying the clear before I ever did the final parts. The best erupts were achieved with taking the tumbler out as soon as it turned completely chrome, letting it cool down to ambient temperature before top coating. It was really cool watching through the oven window as the clear melted and pulled out the purple. Wish I'd filmed it. Video of the ar15 I did is on my channel.
For proper bonding the first coat must reach the cure temp and flow out for about 5 minutes.

Awesome job bro. I just bought a Evo 8 valve cover to replace the one I have on. I want to paint it but this process looks like some serious work haha. Also, are you going to re-use the gaskets?
Valve cover gaskets are generally pretty cheap. Best to be on the safe side and buy a new one. Saves risking ruining your hard work with an oil leak.

magnesium is weldable,you just needs to know the right people. I got rally magnesium rims broken to pieces welded back together.(it's unsafe blah blah)
